    Right to work is a bs name of the bill that was passed. It’s more like the right for them to fire you for no reason. A lot of states are voting it out when they find out they were fed a line of crap!

    Unionization will cause wages to finally raise all over TN. As peoples standard of living improves they will demand a better education system and finally throw off the weight of organized religion and see through conservative BS platitudes . Next up we elect Democrats up and down the ballot remove all right to work laws and restore worker/management balance!

    We MUST have tiny house communities NOW! THOUSANDS of people are living in their cars,RVs, or vans. Illegals immigration is driving up rent as there are 30-50 applicants for every apartment or townhouse. We must take care of our seniors, veterans, and single mothers!!! Americans first

    You have address road capacity before you add more density. I have seen this first hand in Florida. By the time they build roads they are over capacity because developers have the political capital to get zoning. This ad is very misleading.

    I wonder how much more money than the lowest-paid employee, Mr. Schmitt makes? I'm really done with corporations bleeding communities dry with demands for concessions, tax deferments and incentives. I'm not an entrepreneur, but when I get involved in a project, I don't worry about money. If the project is viable, it will be profitable. Greed seems to be part of the DNA of a lot of business builders. And, there are a lot of obstacles that impede rapid business growth. These obstacles often act as barriers that prevent frivolous pursuits, though. I say we might be able to give businesses some breaks on the front end, but we need to see a return on that largesse. Once people and corporations are successful they seem to have selective memory and they feel like they did everything all on their own. Well, not only was the creation helped but a business's continued operation is eased by the benefits of being in America, TN, your town, etc. There are lots of ways to help people start a business other than giving them free passes. The state of TN even has departments that are set up for that exact purpose. I say enjoy your wealth and Tennessee's great living environment. And, shut up and pay your taxes!

      It's been the law 75 years so it's not like this is something new. And I think we have more than enough people moving in because of it that we'll be fine without you

    • @jakehelton3510
      @jakehelton3510 2 роки тому

      @@beaconcenterofTN "we think we'll be fine without you" lol great outlook there. I can see you're not trying to convince me that your ideology is any good. The age of the law doesn't mean its inherently good. There lots of old bad laws that the US has rightly done away with, and many more that are still on the books that should be repealed. People are moving here because the whole country is having an affordable housing crisis and Tennessee is relatively cheap for many people out of state. Not because of right to work laws. I have never worked with a single person that is in favor of right to work laws. But I have worked with many, many people that would love to join or form a union. But that's not easy since right to work laws are designed to undermine unions and worker's rights. Union workers make 10%more per year compared to their non union counterparts in the same field. Union workers are insured at much higher rates and enjoy access to benefits like retirement plans and sick pay at much higher rates. My non union office doesn't offer sick pay, which is baffling with Covid still around. I was sick for months last time I had it, so I literally can't afford to catch it again or I could be stuck at home with no income. Workers in right to work states make on average 15% less than in other states, and work place deaths are 37% higher. The only people who benefit from right to work laws are bosses by shifting the balance of power further in their favor compared to individual workers. To whoever is at the beacon center replying to these comments, if you're not making at least like $80,000 a year, you're underpaid and your boss is taking advantage of you. If you're making more, good for you!

    • @markcunningham8197
      @markcunningham8197 2 роки тому

      @@jakehelton3510 You seem to really be missing the point, Right to work states are consistently more affordable across the board than non-R2W states (which you unknowingly acknowledged) so even if you make 15% less but the cost of living is 30% lower, then it's a net positive, which is just basic economic literacy. I guess we'll see on November 8th if you are right about no one favoring right to work laws but my guess is that you are living in a bubble
