Scuba Dive South Florida - Guide for non-natives (EU, Asia, etc)
My first hand experience diving South Florida and the United States for the first time
One thing I forgot to add is tipping! Tipping is expected. I averaged $20 per day for personal two dive boat trip guide, and an additional $10 for boat crew. Unfortunately there are situations where boat crew or divemaster is working entirely for tips.
If you are diving Din and Bar and your computer is in meters make sure to let your dive leader know before you start the dive!

First time scuba diving with doubles experience
Переглядів 179Рік тому
My experience scuba diving with doubles for the first time. I completed a GUE doubles primer. This was an off the top of my head recap of my experience. One point I forgot to mention is that since the wing is now made to lift more weight it is larger, that means that the effect of the air gathering in a certain area is even more apparent and takes a longer time to evenly distribute itself again...

Mask Strap Failure - What to do if your scuba mask strap breaks underwater
Переглядів 124Рік тому
What to do in the worst case scenario - you are scuba diving, your mask strap breaks and you can’t ascend and don’t have a replacement. Hold mask to face, clear water, suction mask to face by sucking air in through your nose, and let the water pressure do the rest! :)

Great info! Thanks Haley!
From what I read pets from NON EU countries like the US and Canada do not have to have a blood serum test.
Wonderful advice!
Did the Thislegorm in 2018, my second best wreck dive ever after the Youngala in Australia. Had an awesome guide who suggested that I pay for Nitrox and bigger tanks than the standard 11.1 L, which was excellent advice, I got 56 and 52 minute bottom times!
That is a great note! Our group was of varying ability with some young divers. Our dives were in the 30 and 40s. Even with thirty something minutes someone almost ran out of air. Excellent advice and way to go dive guide!
I tried taking cave diving class in the past but unfortunately failed, but the knowledge and experience gained during the course was well worth the time and money, I became a much better and efficient diver. I haven't ruled out taking GUE-F in the future, you were able to take it in wetsuit?
Hi Jean, absolutely! Diving classes are like that. We are always learning and if you don’t struggle a little you probably aren’t growing! I know some very seasoned scuba divers that are now struggling with learning to dive with CCRs! We all get there eventually! And yes, you can take Fundies in a wetsuit. Give it a shot if you get the opportunity!
Thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the GEU fundies
My pleasure! ☺️
Congratulations! Sounds like an amazing course!
Thank you so much! It was!
Wow! I'm impressed!
Glad to know you managed to overcome the initial challenges
Very interesting. I definitely wanna do this dive one day.
Yes, you should! We will do it! 🐠🐠🐠
This was so interesting! Thanks Haley!
Glad you liked it!!
Hey Haley 👋 do you have Instagram!? Thanks in advance if you respond to my comment
Yes, nepenthes_miranda if you want to check it out :)
@@scubadiverhaley thank you
Aaaaand...it will stay in place until you exhale any air through your nose. Very few divers are trained to NOT exhale through their noses. Give it a try, see how it works for you before counting on this technique. Simply holding the mask in place with a free hand may be a more sure way. Either way, I'd recommend ending the dive and replacing the strap.
Thank you for your comment. It absolutely depends on diver comfort and for most divers is only in case of emergency. I have personally dived this way and don’t recall excessively limiting my exhalations since the water pressure does a lot of the work the mask strap would be doing any way. But yes, this video is for worst case scenario, if you can’t ascend immediately and don’t have a replacement mask at that moment.
Great info! Hadn't realized it was quite so involved!
Great advice!
This has been so informative! Thank you!
My pleasure😘
