Big Fish Challenge 2024 - Hartbeespoort Dam

This year the Big Fish Challenge was held at Hartbeespoort Dam where teams were allowed to fish from their favourite fishing spots on Harties. There were some very nice carp caught and some great fun was had.

Day 5 was packed with action from sunrise to sunset. The day started with SA Carpers on Peg 2 landing a very special Mirror carp. That was closely followed by a number of 15kg plus fish by Fishtec and Team Fish 2 . Day 4 started off very slow but as the sun settled the guys on Peg 7 Team Fishtec had another good size carp to push further into the lead. Soon after we had the 2nd biggest carp so far of the tournament caught on Peg 2 by SA Carpers which bumped them into 3rd overall Here are the highlights of Day 4. Enjoy!

Day 2 at the World Carp Classic SA Qualifier kicked off with a bang with multiple fish caught in the early hours of the morning. As the sun settled in we had a call to film the biggest fish of the tournament - A massive scaley mirror from Team Fish 1 at Peg 5. Many beautiful carp were caught during the course of the day. Day 1 of the World Carp Classic South Africa Qualifier 2024 kicked very slow with extreme heat and high pressure heving a huge affect on the carp. but as the day progressed some of the teams managed to get their first captures logged including a stunning 15.5kg Common from Team Fish 2. Taking the lead with their first capture. Lets see what the next few days may bring.

In the summer of 2024 we joined Arrie from Fish together with Daiwa team angler Alex Willers on a wild water adventure to Tzaneen Dam. The action came thick and fast and we managed to land 9 fish in total. Amazing adventure with good friends
FK 8 Pro Cup - Roodekoppies Dam

My friend Arno van Rooyen and I made a quick last minute decision to go fish Harties from a friend's stoep. To say we smashed the fish would be an under statement. Probably around 40 fish caught in 3 days and some big ones in between.
