ROO ROO on the road! Visiting Brackendale Eagles Park
Brackendale Eagles Provincial Park, located near Squamish, British Columbia, is renowned for its significant population of wintering bald eagles. Each year, these majestic birds are drawn to the area by the abundance of spawning salmon in the Squamish and Cheakamus Rivers.
The park itself isn’t open to the public, but there are great spots to watch the eagles from outside the park. The best place is the Eagle Run Viewing Shelter, which is on the dyke across from the BC Easter Seals Camp at 41015 Government Road in Brackendale. This shelter has cool displays about the eagles and the salmon life cycle, making it even more fun to watch.
CORRECTION: at 06:14 I mentioned 1997 as the year, instead of 1994.

Do wild animals remember us?
Переглядів 5814 днів тому
Is it normal to feel a special connection with wild animals we've encountered, even if they're as small as a chestnut-backed chickadee? My desire to find and connect with Onefoot over the past 8-months made me question my sanity. While wild animals may not remember us in the same way we remember them, they can become familiar with people who regularly visit their habitats. My dedication in sear...

Music and nature are my sources of relaxation and peace. There's something magical about the transition from summer to fall-embracing the cooler temperatures, watching the leaves transform into vibrant colours right before your eyes, and witnessing wildlife prepare for winter. The beauty of fall is truly breathtaking. I've collected some footage from September to November to make this short two...
Nature walk using Merlin Bird ID in Stanley Park

It's been a while since I've seen my little bird friend, Onefoot, a chestnut-backed chickadee. I miss seeing him terribly. I'm going to use the Cornell Lab Merlin Bird ID app on my phone to help me find and identify birds. My main goal is to spot some chestnut-backed chickadees, and hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to see Onefoot again. I can't wait to explore the park and see what kinds of bird...

I'm leaving my heavy camera behind!!!

I've been having back issues for a while now. One thing I wanted to try is to use is my iPhone and binoculars as my primary zoom lens to save on weight when it comes to carrying so much gear with me. I did take a tripod with me, as well as a binocular tripod mount. You will also need a holder for your phone in order to attach it to one of the binocular eye cups. I'll add some information on the...

Welcome to Natureroo! Getting to know some local wildlife in the park
They are incredible. In 1982 I was part of crew if people that helped reintroduce the bald eagles back to southern Ontario, a very proud moment for me. There were 12 pairs of breeding partners released and the population is estimated to be approximately 1400ish. They expanded to much of the provinces and nearby states. I am fortunate to see quite a few still soaring the skys above me and I smile.
Amazing achievement by you and the team to bring back bald eagles on Ontario! We have a lot of them out west and I’m the same way when I spot one, always brings a smile to my face just seeing them. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@natureroo wish we had this teletechnology back then, but then again sure glad we didn't 😁
I’m glad we didn’t as well! Happy Holidays to you!
Yay! One foot is back! So happy you found your little friend again.
I volunteered for North Island Wildlife Recovery Center for 2 years. Loved every minute of it. 'Hello' to all the staff ❤️ 😊
Born, raised and blessed for 49 yrs to call Victoria and the Cowichan Valley home..Watching from the Ottawa Valley now, wishing I was home
I will definitely return to the Island in 2025. Thank you for watching and safe travels back to the west coast! Stay warm!
A guy posted this on one of the sunshine coast favebook groups, but i wont watxh it because dwayne supports molesting children. The warnings around town are to NOT let anyone 18 or under, especially males, to go anywhere near dwayne burnett, he is like the P Diddy of the coast. The mayor is his little butt buddy, and keeps investigations off dwayne. But we all know he loves kids.
Now that was quite the treat! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Thank you for the feedback and watching my adventure! The sunset at the end was spectacular! Happy to share it with you all.
been on the rock for 50 years never moved stayed in the same town... nanaimo,,, and still feel blessed every day
Such a nice area to live, so beautiful! Good on you for picking a great place!

Some steady hands to catch that kingfisher mid-hover!
Oh yes, that was lucky timing. Beautiful area, can watch the birds all day. Very quiet spot.
Nice. But it's Van-couver Island not Vang-couver Island.
100% not my intention to come out as Vang. I’ll work on that. Thanks for the comment and watching!
@@natureroo Haha don't worry it's very common. Only a Vancouver Islander or Vancouverite would even notice. My own camera is arriving today so hopefully one day I can make a video like yours.
Have fun with your new camera! Let me know if you do publish a video.
But you nailed Cowichan perfectly! Nice video
Enjoy while you can.Theres not many left
I was so happy to see one. Crossing my fingers for more in the future.
Dji mini 2?
Yes, the small and mighty mini 2. It was getting high wind warnings during that flight but it managed to handle things well.

It really is a fantastic app. I love using it, especially if I’ve discovered a bird I’ve never seen or heard in the past. Thanks for posting a comment!
