What a wonderful opening even with social distancing. Cyndi Hall should have been an emcee or news reporter! Thanks to the whole crew who put this event on!

Morning wake up call, male mockingbird

Every day, all day he sings. Not just his song but those of many others. I have identified a “chicken Hawk” and a Cardinal as well as a Blue Jay but I am too new to vocal Bird ID. Let me know what you hear.
The Maxwell Technique of adding color to scratchboard
Переглядів 32 тис.6 років тому
A demonstration of adding colored India ink to a scratchboard drawing, using Ampersand products.
Very cool, I’ll have to try that
How i can transfer my design to scratch paper
I trace the design on tracing paper and chalk the back, then redraw it with pen when taped to the board
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤incredible
That is a beautiful piece of art work and outstanding more power to you Sally 🙂
Sally when you say wash at the beginning? What are you using? Water?
I normally find the base color of the object, as an example, many animals have a pale raw sienna base even on their white. this clears any black residue you may have left when you wiped the cut surface clean. It allows for the other pigments to not have a black cast when you apply them.
Great video thanks. I can’t see the full can of UV spray at the end of the video. Please, what is the full name of the product? I looked on Amazon with the little bit I can read and it didn’t come up. Thanks.
Lascaux found at Blick. www.dickblick.com/products/lascaux-uv-protect-spray-varnish/ Gloss, matte, satin.
Viola! ( says your closing screen) Beautiful work.
Took my breath away!!! Beautiful!
I so appreciate your willingness to share information. Not everyone has financial or physical ability To travel to workshops. You are my go to for information
I'm wondering what type of paints you use to add the colour?
Ampersand inks available as a set of colors or Koh-I-nor inks
Excellent demonstration. Lovely imadge.
I am very impressed by your lovely work and this medium
You truly are thr very best
Pointless video.
Voila!
That is GORGEOUS! Are all the paints you use inks? Also, do you paint black over the background in the very end, where your painting has touched it?
Yes, Ampersand inks and I usually do not need to paint over the ink as it disappears when painted over the black as black is all colors. Once in a while the yellow leaves a residue. Then I paint over it.
@@sallymaxwell4905 Thank you!
Stunning work and a great video tutorial. Thank you
Great video. I'm experienced with scratchboard but have only made a few half-hearted attempts to color it. Now I have the proper ink and have seen your video. Next few attempts should go much better.
Glad to have helped. Make sure you get rid of all the black residue for clean color.
Thank you very well done, your awesome🥰
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you so very much Sally. I love scratchboarding but didn't know it could be colored. This was so helpful. Your art is stunning.
Can you use Dr. Martins India inks?
No, I use Ampersand inks made especially for use on them. Blick.com has them.
This is my channel concerned with drawing and coloring with its various techniques . I hope you like it
Very goog. Well done
Beautiful.
What is the name of the vanish that you use to seal your art pieces. I tried reading it on the video but it wasn't very clear. Thanks.
Lascaux UV protect.
As others have said, this is stunning. Thank you for the tips!
wonderful video to a newbie!!
Are you using scratchcard ink?
Yes, I helped Ampersand develop the best ink for use on their boards. No staining of the clay so you can scratch back to white and no residue on the black like most acrylic based inks have.
Can you do a tutorial of the chalk transfer?
It is basically the same as the one I used on the Wild Horses for South Lake Tahoe and the Marcus Ashley Gallery UA-cam. That particular one was for a drawing on white Claybord but it works for scratchboard as well.
I also draw scratch art in Japan. It's very wonderful, thank you.
Magnificent !!! Love it !
Absolutely stunning.
Thank you ... please what is the kind of colors
I use the Ampersand Claybord inks that I helped them develop.
Thank you, you are a great artist
This is just wonderful!! I am also here on Sandy's recommendation..... I have never seen this technique before - can only say - WOW!
Very beautiful...I am here because of Sandy Allnock’s videos where she mentions you. I never thought to add ink before!
Lovely studio space!
So Cheerful! I miss mine. He was there for years. Then he disappeared.🥰
Beautiful, I love wolves
Can you tell me what brand inks you are using? Thanks!!
Stunning! Thank you. I just bought some scratchboard supplies and this is motivating!
absolutely exquisite, Sally!!
you are a sensational artist, Sally. You need more marketing, you should have many million subscribers....
this is breathtaking, wow....
Ampersand makes custom orders and I drive to their manufacturing site in Budapest Texas to pick up several at a time.
Amazing! May I ask you where do you buy scrapeboard in that size? I can't find it anywhere. Many thanks for sharing
That's a talent gift from God, well done Sally. Amazing
Silence was a refreshing addition. That made me pay more attention to what you were doing, and achieving. There is one thing I would like you to consider: you produced artwork that I wanted to view but the opportunity to do so was seconds long. A lot of videos do this. When the video is stopped the frame is darkened, and the symbol appears. That really limits a viewer and the artwork can't be examined. If you just kept your camera on the piece you worked on for us then we could view it and if desired return to the video, fast forward to the section we want to study. Thanks for doing these videos. I think they are good.
You are amazing! I can’t believe that’s scratchboard! My favorites are the American buffaloes.
