How the Four Delta T's Impact Data Center Cooling Optimization
Переглядів 5712 роки тому
A very valuable way to understand data center cooling optimization is to look at the four delta T’s (ΔT’s) in the computer room. Two of these ΔT’s are more commonly known, while the other two are less commonly known. While most people will be focused on one or the other of the more commonly known ΔT’s, the less commonly known ΔT’s are just as important to look at, especially when optimizing the...
Data Center Power Consumption and the Hyperscale Shift
Переглядів 4812 роки тому
Spoiler alert: data centers use a lot of power. In fact, many experts estimate that data storage and transmission in and from data centers use 1% of global electricity. The good news, data centers are becoming more efficient, especially as more hyperscale data centers come online and inefficient legacy data centers fall by the wayside - a phenomenon commonly referred to as the hyperscale shift.
Data Center Risk Management: Availability vs. Reliability
Переглядів 5332 роки тому
In the data center industry, we tend to use the terms ‘availability’ and ‘reliability’ somewhat synonymously, and while they are related, they are not the same thing. On one hand, reliability is defined as the probability of failure-free system operation over a specified time in a given environment for a given purpose. Availability on the other hand is defined as the probability that a system, ...

Data Center Risk Management: Understanding the Risks We Face - Part 2
Переглядів 2682 роки тому
Once the purpose of the data center is clearly understood, we can then better understand the common issues that introduce risk. Unfortunately, many of these common issues are self-inflicted due to human error. The good news is, many of these common issues can be mitigated and prevented once they are identified.
Data Center Optimization: The Importance of Capturing Critical Granular Data in Real-Time
Переглядів 2042 роки тому
The only reliable way for data center teams to troubleshoot and optimize data center performance is to gather massive amounts of data from right across the facility - with no sampling. This removes the risk of visibility gaps, but also introduces a new challenge in terms of the sheer volume of real-time data that is being collected.
Hot Aisle Containment vs. Cold Aisle Containment: Benefits and Challenges

I found your products after searching for wall grommets. All grommets I've found online are restricted to wall-plate sized holes (single-, double- and triple-gang), or are designed for passing-through of a few wires for wall-mounted televisions (HDMI, RG6, audio, and power cables). Meanwhile, I have four bundles of CAT5e, CAT6, and RG6u cables protruding from drywall where I'll install a 9u wall-mounted network cabinet; and none of those wall-plate solutions are large and robust enough. Clearly, your products are specifically designed for data centers / raised floors and are instrumental in saving energy. Just a thought: As a homeowner going through a remodel, I can't help but wonder if a company like yours could design and release a product line to cater to those of us expanding our home networks. Regardless, I'm impressed with the engineering behind your product-line and will likely purchase a 2020 surface-mount model.

    Nice article and chart. I took the liberty and added the temperatures for both C and F to the chart. However since I couldn't add graphic here, I included the line color. Please confirm my numbers (the number represent where your arrow points to the line's edge) BLUE L1 = 75/25 - 34 °C = 93.2 °F, GREEN L2 = 50/50 - 35.5 °C = 95.9 °F, ORANGE L3 = 25/75 - 37.5 °C = 99.5 °F, RED L4 = 100% unsafe - 39 °C = 102.2 °F

What is net zero? Its absolute BS that's what it is. They say co2 causes climate change. Ok let's look at the science. The specific gravity of co2 is 1.592. Which means being heavier than air. How can any scientist explain that a heavier than air gas somehow gets into the atmosphere? IT CAN'T ! Co2 can only fall downward. Its subject to the same laws of gravity and yet the sheeple are still convinced that what the government tells them is true. Wake up world :)

The highest energy users and carbon emitters are developed countries. And development costs energy - large amounts of it, and also emits large amounts of carbon and other wastes. If we go net-zero, the highest energy hogs and carbon emitters that are developed countries should go first and see how this method plays out - lead by example, and walk your talk - the developing countries will follow your lead, depending on how well you lead. Can the developed countries handle the loss of economic and social development by going Net Zero? We shall see.

SUMARY: Net Zero is like Carbon Neutral, but with mitigation first. Is a long-term goalpost, and requires efforts that are not for everyone... Note to UPSITE TECHNOLOGIES: Not every company can reduce their emissions, and you are shaming them for being carbon neutral. Companies do what they can, no what you want.

That's an OLD pseudo-thought of how to marketize, PREVENTING GLOBAL CATASTROPHY within a FRAMEWORK of PLAYING GAMES. And nobody will say... what about being kind human beings, rather than playing this game. I'm the only one who found this HARD WORK and was bothered to say something. How is LARGE carbon producers, never given a name of a company? It's kind of odd. Pretending to offer a history lesson, while all while disconnecting people with the economic activity so beneficial to themselves, while BLIND to all the harm to others... the point ... it's amazing no body played along, even on YT NOT ONE.
