It doesn't really "wrap up before" the Wizard of Oz. The two stories actually overlap. Also, if you're hoping to get the conclusion in this movie, sorry. You'll have to wait until part 2 comes out at Thanksgiving of 2025. I'm not really sure why the studio did not market this as Wicked, part 1. This is only the first act of the play.

The story "wraps up" with a girl in a gingham dress and a bucket of water. Check out the original novel from the 1990's, there is actually quite a bit of story and maybe the Witch of the East isn't quite as wicked as the public image orchestrators of Oz would have people believe.

Love this type of reaction..."Give us the entire movie, why dont ya?"... also... "I didn't see the 'play', I know nothing about the story"... If you didn't see the musical, and don't know the story, how do you know what they gave you? This trailer doesn't even scratch the surface.

The opening shot is her melted, and just her hat. This story explains everything from her birth to that point.

I want nothing more than to explain why this show is so incredible, but to do so would spoil the fun. Trust me my friend, this is literally only half the story and the rest does not disappoint.

All I know is that Benedict Cumberbatch is a phenomenal actor and I will definitely be watching the show.
