Central Alberta Cougar Family
Its been a while since I have put any videos online but I figured with what I have gotten in the last week, they are worthy of a post. Now we have a family of cats that have moved in to the area. Mother and three kittens. Don't look at the dates on the cameras as they are mostly wrong and don't keep the date anymore, Thousands of videos and pictures. The timeline is the end of November, 2021. This would be or should I say is detrimental to the deer population in the area as they would eat a massive amount of meat. As we see, not a lot of deer left, and will probably move on to the elk herds. Be safe in nature, bears are asleep but there are others that aren't!!!

Another set of videos off of three cameras. It seems that it likes to cover a very good portion of the half section in one evening, It is amazing , the amount of videos that a person has got in the last couple years. With the numbers taken in season and all, there must be a lot of cats.
So You Want to Get Pushy

A couple nice Bull Elk decide they are going to do a little sparing. More like testing each other than actually fighting.
Fall Black Bear 2020

A nice healthy looking Black Bear wonders around getting ready for his winters nap. There are an abundance of Rose Hips, so he is munching on them.

2020 Bull Elk

Three of the Bull Elk with the herd that moved through. There have been sightings of cougars in the area, with also some livestock being taken, so probably a reason why they have moved away for a while. It has been close to 3 weeks since they were last on the cameras.
Lets All Go Swimming

A Group of Elk cows and calves go to the dugout for a drink on a warm day, and decide to go right in the water.
The Boys are Back Bull Elk

It is that time of the year again, when the Big game of North America go through the cycle of producing next years offspring, which is called The Rutt. The males fight for dominance and breeding rights so that their genes carry on in the herd. I have been taking pictures and used trail cams for years and you can see the different bulls of the past in how the ones there now have grown their antl...
Bathing Moose

A cow moose standing and jumping in the dugout. Could be to get away from the bugs or just wanted to cool off. Never know for sure, but makes a good video.
Central Alberta Mountain Lion

A healthy adult cougar takes a stroll around, and covers four of our game cams. Beautiful animal, but going to be hard on the game. Also changes that day of berry picking.
Nature is Cruel. Two Ravens Picking on a Great Horned Owl

Not sure why. But two Ravens decide to pick on an Owl. Nature can be cruel sometimes, but there is always a higher plan. Nothing is wasted when you look at how things are consumed when they die. Providing life for those that remain, whether plant or animal. All living things are included in this the same. I hope that the owls flying skills saved it, but we will never know.
Its a Bear

Have never had a bear go through so could get a picture with the trail cams, but can't say that now.
A Worm grabbing a snack
Переглядів 654 роки тому
With all the rain, and the longer days, walked past the garden and a couple worms were out on top of the soil. What happened next was interesting, and I had to look it up. The worm actually took the seed from a tree back underground to eat.
Poor thing...just wanted his belly tickled 🥴
If you have a cat you know this look. This looks means I decided whether you like it or not. I am gonna try look.
ears forward, intent stare and twitching tail means you are in severe danger. you got lucky! this video gave me chills man. the way the camera was angled right at it made me feel like i was the one being watched and stalked. f that shyt lol
I've had a face to face encounter with a mountain lion without a weapon. The expert's say make loud noises make yourself big from my experience it only made it mad. The only thing it respected was me walking towards it showing I wasn't a easy meal. They will test you and if you fail game over.
Would a warning shot get it's attention?
Start talking about the tax code or something. That should scare it off or just leave out of boredom.

If anybody is mocking this man, it's because they would shit their pants in S similar situation. But they need to say crap so people can think they are something special.
When any animal licks his lips it's a bad sign. I don't know what the whole situation here is but I rode my electric scooter off road one day and as the trees were encroaching over me, I felt this funny feeling that something was watching me. I flipped a bitch and left. I don't enter where I'm not welcomed but people don't realize that nature parks are not being patrolled by regional police and they should not take chances with nature!
Fu k that
Bet his heart was racing Dam very dangerous
I think he was just curious about you, especially if he doesn’t recognize you as food. What I would do is feed the cat a piece of meat or anything he can eat. This way he knows you have the food and not his food. Do you know what I mean. Just like Kevin Costner and Two Paws in that movie Dances With Wolves. The friendly curious Wolf at the soldiers fort whereby, John Dunbar befriends. It seems like the cat wants to be friendly. Attack? I don’t think so.
Was that a rock he threw at the cougar?
Would love to know what’s going on behind those piercing, inquisitive eyes. What a stunning animal.
Come on dude. It's just a kitty cat. Go pet it. You know you want to. It only wants some salt from the lick it will give you. Your paranoid. 😂😂
He just wants you to scratch behind his ears 😂😅😂
I am terrified for you. This has been the longest minute in my life. I can’t imagine how it felt with it walking right up and laying down right in front of you
He did nothing right except yell, the cat area and he invaded it. The cat was allowing him to leave but that moron just couldn't figure out. I wonder if he figured out that no elk will be around if a cats around.
Doing away with pursuit Hound Hunting gets everyone this scenario….
1:02 the cat looked like he was ready to pounce
Dang she’s huge
OMG - That was absolutely frightening! I was almost positive that he was going to attack at the beginning. My heart was pounding!
You need to go ! NOW
Obviously easy to armchair, but you don't want to yell, as much as that is a normal reaction. A low firm voice will be your best bet. If you want to make a loud sound that will deter them, clap.
Cougars are ambush predators and chances are if they want to attack you, you will never see it coming. Why does everyone assume the cat was going to attack? It looked curious to me, especially when it laid down. It is sad how many cougars are killed because of a collective hysteria that labels them blood hungry man killers when the numbers don’t show this to be fact. Very few humans have been killed by cougars. Maybe it’s time to think differently.
you have to be stupid to walk around without a weapon in a hostile environment
Holllly thats a massive cat..seems it was more curious about you then aggressive but im only a min or 2 in
"you dont need guns" have you ever been outside?
You did the right thing. You gave the animal a chance. You saved yourself. Nature is brutal.
Wow very inspiring incident with a poetic ending. Two hunters facing off. I don’t blame the man hunter for finally defending himself.. even though mountain Lions are my favorite animals I can tell he did not want to cause the cat hunter any harm. Both hunters from opposite worlds clashing upon crossing paths. Much respect!
well your an moron for not doing that in the first place dum azz
heeeyeyeyeyeyeyyayayaa
You are a better man than I . I would of shot it the first time it seriously looked at me , and crouched down in what was obviously a position to launch forward , especially at such a short distance . You gave her every chance possible . Sleep well brother , you have nothing to feel guilty about . I'm sure you feel sorry it came to that , but tell me , what could of happened if you didn't do what you did .
Better man? I don't think so. I think *the wise man puts whatever he's got into the cougar as soon as it stands off aggressively* like that. And man, that was a CHAD cougar too. Big fella. I'd feel bad about mag dumping him later, but not too bad. I've had a black bear do that before, but not as aggressively, and the back uP,, look big, avoid eye contact WHOA BEAR thing worked. Which is nice because I don't carry in black bear country.
Cougar found out.
Wow, this video is a real education on what to do and what you could just face.
I saw a cougar walking on the shoulder of route 95 in South Portland Maine at night driving. It's not a rural area. Wouldn't want to be there fixing a flat tire.
dude, that cat had serious look in his eyes. they don't back down when they are that way. I would have just shot my gun safely in the ground to scare it off and if that didn't work then just go ahead and take my shot right away.
I remember when i seen a coyote in the woods. But that one is different looking
Extremely well done my dude! I'm pretty sure I would have blasted that thing when it was obviously not afraid.
F that. You did the right thing. If they’re not afraid of human beings, they’ll probably attack some jogger out on the trail or something. If any animals showing that level of aggression and lack of fear, it is to be put down. Fortunately, this cat was found by someone with a weapon, good job
A pack of firecrackers would have been a nice surprise for it.
Cougar should have been rubbed out for reportedly returning to the hunter.
A big Tom. I had the same thing happen to me 1982. Cruising timber. I yelled at the big tom. Go away. It didnt go away. It crouched down. Swayed on it haunches. Then walked straight at me.
Anyone who has had a cat knew in the first few minutes that this guy or these guys were in serious danger. Ive had housecats all my life and im sitting here cringing in the first few minutes as the cat sizes him up, sinks its head into an attack or pounce stance. That has to be one of the scariest things ive ever watched. If there were no weapons there....then that camera might still be out there on its tripod, battery dead, awaiting discovery. Because i lived with housecats all my life, i am deathly afraid of bigcats. Im glad this guy/guys made it out of there with their lives. Goossebumps!
Looks like men putting themselves in a controlled situation for online clicks. So men looking for attention by pretending to brave men who stood their ground. If this wasn’t staged he would of shot a lot sooner but that would’ve left a lot less footage.
9:41 When you touch the back of a CRT tv.
sorry ya had ta do that... anyone could see you gave it every thing you had to not have it go that way... they have noe moved into PA. where i lived an im 60... i know they were there a long time before the game commision started giving a shit... they kept saying they were escaped cats from private ownership...we told them they were wild but to no evial..about 30 yrs ago they asked anyone with profe I.E. tracks roadkills etc. to bring them to the PA.GC well they got there profe.
You lied to the cat. You said you weren't going to shoot . Pathetic. Could have tried several things instead of just sitting there yelling, how about throwing rocks or branches, how about using branches, or spraying a pepper spray deterrent like bear spray etc. Typical hunter, kill kill kill disgusting. 😊
You're pathetic
I've had to do this quite a lot..you really have to keep your wits about you out there!😬😳
The only thing I would have done different is I'd have thrown a rock or stick at him, and done so early in the encounter (assuming I could). Cats are incredibly cautious, and any sign that the meal will fight back will usually make them think twice. I've even seen it with my domestic cats. They were raised as outdoor cats, and are great mousers, but every once in a while a feisty rat would fight back, usually after two or three bites, the cats would quit on it.
One good stick or rock to the snout ought to give the cat pause...
