@@justinmoorenyc yes new poesche decals fitted to the calipers
Looks fantastic.
That vehicle is nearly 50 years old so problems are to be expected but one thing that does stand out is the state of the timing gear that suggests poor maintenance.
@clivewilliams3661 yh don't think it was looked after very well before it came to the UK 3 years ago, the guy I bought it from had spent alot of money on it to get it going again but missed doing the chain
@@easydriver3117 Looking at the engine and the bay I doubt that any money was spent on the mechanicals, to have stripped the engine for inspection would have meant that the timing cover ought to have been removed. Also, the sludge in the timing cover would have manifested itself in the sump, which would have been obvious at an oil change.
Well done, I have just bought a 996 and love it, they are great cars
@@rcclassicgarage fantastic enjoy 🤗
Jaike that 600 really suits you much more than most cars I've seen you in recently!! BUY ONE!!! 😁
Those plates are not legal.
@PhillRobinson yes they are, have spoken to the police about it on 3 occasions at shows, they arnt interested, there AnPR does pick the plates up and have been tested, so they no right to pull u over unless u are driving like a prat 🤣
Why does it have a 750 badge on the front? Really nice car.
@@freddythomas2112 that's the engine size 750cc
Bought mine in 1998 and still have it 26 years later.
Teach you to buy from Tesco.

Ha fatto girare l Italia e gli italiani
Aye bro are you in Gloucester england 🏴 beacause I live near there 😎
im in the forest but we do meet up in glos every now and then
How did you get a spoiler like that for it? I’ve ordered 3 different spoilers now but they just seemed to be the black spoiler ‘extensions’ to stick on the edge of the spoiler like the one you have fitted. Was yours expensive and how did you install it? Please help, 😭🤣 Love your car !
@ashxhhh2245 it came with the abarth boot, I bought the Bumpers and boot of a accident damage abarth
Wrap the roof rail/pillars with green to really show of the Italian heritage
@@hilcro1 that's not a bad idea 🤔🤔🤔
I’m having no fun putting gas in a 440 gran fury in Canada (it used to get 11 mpg now I’m lucky if I get 4.5!I can only imagine what you pay to fill that 22 gallon tank
i know the prices in the uk are not great at the moment
@@easydriver3117 yes low compression ratio (after ‘70)low power high gas consumption -2 71 rear gear didn’t help
@@johnandersonjjr still worth the looks u get especially here in the uk, people almost panic when they see me coming dead on with them 🤣
@@easydriver3117 My father used to be seconded to USAF in UK back in 1970's and at one time they tried to insist that he use one of the USAF pool cars for travelling around the country visiting bases. He had no problem with LHD but the size of the barges on UK country lanes was inappropriate (he worked at Molesworth, Cambs) to say the least, notwithstanding the dreadful suspension that simply couldn't cope with UK lanes. On the one time he used a pool car he found that despite the size and all the other disadvantages he managed a credible 18mpg (his Zodiac 2.5ltr managed 24mpg). After his one and only attempt to use a pool car he flatly refused to drive another USAF car.
How much did it cost ?
With delivery £950
Really good price. Good luck
Figured i could mention this, you can add in an aux cable into the factory stereo for about six or seven quid and it doesnt require coding, easy enough to fit in and keeps the factory look
Yeah drive through parking spaces like it's your own street...that's how accidents happen in style I guess.
@@zaethebarber9250 it was visibly dead in the car park 🤣 also we had an assigned area for our cruise
Good looking cars but not the most reliable
@sirsouping we love the shape of them, the owner struggled to start it all day on our cruise but it was a laugh and we all helped
@@easydriver3117 yeah same even the newer models look quite nice
Fantastic video Jaike, loved it!! ♥
Jaike why are you not on the classic Fiat 500 club no more?
@@johnanz should be I never left
That’s 400cid big block engine. I have built one some years ago. Those camsprockets prone to crack because it has plastic teeth. But. If the timingchain has slipped, which it quite likely, valve timing has gone wrong and there are also some bent valves too. So it’s good to do some compression tests for all the cylinders.
Look forward to seeing you at a Tribal Porsche Event soon ❤
Not much left on either of those. Would have to be a brave soul to attempt to resurect those. Re engine size, they were all called 1000 regardless of which powerplant they sported.
Haha is this Harry Bucklands? Love that place!
@@user-if5ef7sv8k better than Disney Land 🤣
Love the land yachts😉if that’s an original part that’s gone…. Says a lot for American motors….. tough old birds……
yh they are definately iconic, we have the new parts so hopefully i will have a new video soon
have you check the wheels, wonder if they are hallow
Very nice.
Looks great. Did you change the side skirts from those shown in one of your earlier videos ?
@@jase9702 yes thse were a better fit
@@easydriver3117 OK, thanks. Thats a really great looking car, tastefully done mods. I am looking to get some aero parts for my 996. Any issues the clubauto sport ducktail fitment ? Where did you get the side skirts from as I have seen something similar on ebay and design911 ?
What an awesome car and a fun channel. I will stay along for the ride and see where you take it. Best of luck from the US
thank you very much, more soon
How many miles on the thing?
@@Blurredman only 55k
@@easydriver3117 Interesting, thank you.
I brought mine 1973 dodge charger 26.december.2017. I collected it from norfolk and drove it to Birmingham. My car stopped twice on the road since i bought her. Both times, small issues i managed to fix on the road. Ones coil exloaded and second time loos bulkhead connector
I've just replaced my timing gear and chain in my 76. It was still in good condition but I didn't want to take a chance of this happening.
I mean its the original chain that is over 45 years old.... You where lucky to get that much from it
Definitely the issue...
I'm from America. I bought a 1992 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue from the original owners daughter about 3 weeks ago. They special ordered the car new.
@@rainbowmangarage oh very nice,
Those 76 plates are awesome. I'm looking for 92 plates for mine

Super cool interior. 😎
Thank you for coming along to your first Tribal Meet. ❤
Hi mate I’ve seen you pop in town looks good
I own a 2000 c2 in silver with the red interior and aero kit. I think the 996.1 model is so iconic these days. I wouldn’t want anything else.
oh nice yes definitely the most iconic out of Porsches in my eyes
I don't mind the Nephrite green, nothing is as bad as Sahara beige 🤢 Nice original car!
I've put amber indicators on my black 05 Turbo and now I have a 98 just like yours..Arena Red with beige interior./love them both.
Oh nice don't see many in the red, very nice
Just found this video. Yes, those are factory door cards. The trim around the hatch should be a satin black color, also around the windshield. Please do repaint in the original color. Sunroof leaking is likely due to clogged or unhooked sunroof drains at each corner.
Love it ... I have a October 97 Built arctic metallic silver / manual Carrera with Graphite interior and sunroof. They are seriously nice cars, very nimble and fast and becoming a genuine classic. Look after it and enjoy it!
@@fairfaxa they truly are amazing cars 🚗
Nice, mine was also built in October 97. Number 596 - 60 :) what’s yours ? I did not find any earlier car yet
@Sgoasjdjasdkasd I still gotta check, mine was first registered March 98
@@Sgoasjdjasdkasd Hi there, mine is 601160, so yours is just a bit earlier than mine. I have sourced a set of original 408 option 18" hollow spokes that the car cam with new and am having them refurbished. I have ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/35 and 225/40 for the wheels, putting it back to the way it left the factory.
Those cylinders look pretty rough. It is great to follow along with your systematic process and work. Thank you for taking time to share all of this. I rebuilt the heads and top end of my Monte Carlo and the increased pressure blew out an oil ring. Hopefully your outcome is better.
@aroundomaha thank you, yh the engine is a mess, will have an update soon hopefully 🙏
Tuning in for the 924 project!
Great! I have a 99 exactly the same!
Nice one dude, I was looking at that one on Autotrader as well, seemed like a good one. Pedantic me would like to point out that it’s a spoiler not a wing, wings generate downforce whereas spoilers reduce lift. Also C2 has black calipers, C4 silver and turbo red. I was also going to repaint my calipers until I found out the caliper colour denotes the model, and now I’ll keep the black. Pedantry done, good luck with it, glad it’s gone to an enthusiast!
Thank you for the comment didn't know that about the calipers maybe they should stay black then, the car is a jem got another video coming this week 😊 Thanks for watching
