Questa canzone mi fa venire la nostalgia. Sono italoamericana e mio padre e di un paese proprio vicino a Gessopalena…si chiama Torricella Peligna e lui suonava la fisarmonica e cantava. Era bravissimo ma forse lo dico solo perché era mio papà.:) Grazie tanto per mettere questo brano sul UA-cam. Siete fantastici! BRAVISSIMI!!

I grew up with this sort of musical racket going on non stop at our house, where all sorts of migrants gathered, as well as Aussies. Nobody could understand each other's language but they all rocked up with plates of strange foods, dressed in weird ethnic costumes,making a hell of a racket with instruments, dancing and singing and telling stories about dangerous war time escapes through barbed wire fences etc and I turned to my brother, as very young very tir e kids, being kept awake all night by this lot, who bundled us up in old army coats to sleep and I said "We can jump barbed wire fences to neighbours' farms and so can the kangaroos...They are not hard to jump over...When are they all going to just die, so we can get some peace?" We had no idea what the war or peace or barbed wire fences they referred to were about...And we thought you die when you go to sleep...But, I heard one say "Ah, but because a spy spoke many languages and could understand and tell us, we got away safe..." They all agreed it was useful to speak languages, raised another glass and toasted "freedom". At that early point in my life, at about 3am on one of those rowdy nights, I knew I would speak foreign languages and be a diplomat, a journalist, a spy or something and do music and dancing etc but not as awful as what they subjected us to, withpiano accordions, high pitched Russian female voices and ultra low male ones rumbling on about life on the Volga, yodelling crazy Germans who went out mushrooming in the moonlight at about 2am in the bush, feasted ontoxic toadstools in their drunken stupor and died...These people were crazy...I was then told how certain people come from our country but they are not really "our people" but we tolerate them eg some from a particular region.I thought this was insane because, in Australia, we don't care which state you came from. I asked how come and was told all the history of numerous battles, castles, princes, armies etc and who won, who lost,what strategies were used etc and that is why we don't get in too thick with them because they are different from us. I looked around at these so called "different from us" people all celebrating in peace together to see if they hated each other. I saw no sign of hate, just endless annoying ethnic music. I concluded they were all crazy.There had to be a different way...That is when I began to discover the Aussie equivalent of suchculture. Rock'n'roll. Girls in provocative skin tight denimskirts, fags in hand dancing sexily but ignoring boys in studded leather jackets, which made no sense either. And the motorbikes gleaming silver in the moonlight as they revved them up for a ride through bush dirt tracks in the moonlight at about 3am....Every culture has it's wild folk culture. It is often boring, repetitive, even annoying. But it is what ispired a lot of the great very refined cultured classical music and dances, including the very highbrow, refined classical ballet, which often contains folkloric dance steps.Tchaivkowskie even wrote a piece of music incorporating Italian folk songs. I recall hearing it on the ABC radio and running to mum and yelling "Hey, Iknow that song...You sing it when you do the washing in the old cement trough..." She wasn't impressed and replied "What you think? You very young. Dissa songa very olda. Australia very new. Europa very old... Many thousand years old...The Romani, the Greek, the Egyptians, the Abyssinians, Africani..." I interrupted her "Ma you said European, not Africani, Egyptiano, Greco...". "Itsa all da same. Very old musical, cultural..." she replied and demanded to know why I wanted to know so much about stupid things that didn't matter, anyway...

molto lenta e suonata molto male....

Questa non la suono più dalla notte dei tempi, ma è comunque una delle marce che ricordo volentieri. L'esecuzione è un po lenta per i miei gusti, ma tutto sommato intonata

Un film che mette in mostra i grandi valori umani , vissuti nella miseria durante la guerra. Adesso abbiamo quasi tutto, dico quasi perché ci mancano i valori che sono le fondamenta della convivenza. Almeno metà delle cose che abbiamo in più, sono superflue.
