After I wore braces, I wore my retainers for a year and a half but then I stopped because I had skin problems. Once I stopped wearing the retainers my skin cleared up. But my teeth shifted a little bit. Would I have to make a dentist appointment if I can go back to wearing retainers instead of getting braces again?

Avoid latex elastics!! In order to realign my teeth I had to wear braces on for 2 years in my teens and because of the elastics I had to put on my braces I developed a lifelong allergy to latex aka NRL (Natural Rubber Latex). There’s no treatment or cure, and it’s a progressive allergy so every exposure can worsen your symptoms, like bee stings. Now my allergy is severe and I risk having an anaphylactic reaction if I touch something made of latex, it’s awful 😞 My doctor told me to avoid latex/NRL at all costs but it’s very difficult because latex is in a million things : rubber/latex gloves, bandaids, elastics and rubber bands, balloons, floor mats, adhesives, stretchy clothes (spandex, lycra), yoga mats, swim gear, PT stretch bands, sport balls, skin wraps, vial caps, syringe stoppers, tourniquets, EKG pads, catheters, mattress protectors etc…. Be careful and avoid latex as much as possible! Trust me you do not want this horrible allergy… According to the CDC about 8% of Americans are allergic to latex, and it goes up to 17% for nurses and 33% for children who undergo multiple surgeries. There are latex-free elastics for orthodontic braces that work just as well as the latex ones. You just have to ask your doctor for latex-free elastics.

It's been 1.5+ years and still no results except the gaps have removed. To get it fixed I am thinking of changing my ortho and getting braces on lower teeth too. Will it work ?
