I wish I was a kid again

Here I am at 15 years old. I remember Deterding Elementary and the fond memories there. I would say Mr. Dozet was my favorite teacher. He always made things fun. Don't forget the First Fridays! Benjamin Now at Mira Loma High.

I am APPAULED by this game! Guess what? ONE child will be left as the cheese that stands alone. Except in my day they didn’t give the cheese any gold dust to ease the pain. The imaginary gold dust isn’t enough. You could see in that poor girl’s eyes how hurt she was even though so many other children didn’t even have a chance to participate. In my day they would keeping going around the song until every child was picked except one. The children would be bunched up in a pack and form the outer circle until one lonely child was left inside because they weren’t picked. It was a scarring experience. This was done in kindergarten and one poor child who was never aware that they were unpopular then knew. The children will treat that child like an outcast until they graduate primary school. This game puts a bullseye on a child and targets them for bullying for the rest of primary school. Don’t schools understand how popularity picking hurts? In sports, at least people are picked based on their athletic ability. The competitive sports students lead then pick teams. They will pick the most athletic. This is ALL about popularity at a very young age. I went to a parochial school where the teachers could be mean as well. Definitely traumatizing.

Btw, I believe that in this song, the word "Tideo" is used as a name or nickname, Maybe it came from the name "Matilda" (Tilda)" but that's just a guess. This "Tideo" song is documented as coming from the Southern USA & my guess is that this song is of African American origin.
