I'm not sure if you'll even see this Scott, but I wanted to say thank you for making this video. I had it downloaded as an mp4 during my mission and listened to it every single day. It is what got me through the most difficult experiences of my life, and I want you to know that I'm grateful that you made it when god called you to. it saved my misson.

The great thing about the gospel, we get credit for trying even if we don't succeed.
Thank you for your post. This came to mind as a read your comment. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Eph 2:8-9 This truth helps me to see where any credit fits into the life of a believer. Truly being saved, or as Jesus described in John 3, being born again, gives us the new heart that good works will flow from. We can be free from being concerned about credit, knowing ultimately all credit goes back to God, the one who gave us the new heart. Salvation and the new heart are like the engine of the train with good works that follow like the caboose. Never the other way around (works that lead and salvation resulting). Yes, there are rewards, but interestingly, the 24 elders in Rev. 4, when in the presence of Jesus in heaven, cast their crowns (which represent their rewards) at the feet of Jesus. This is my all time favorite talk!!! I listen to this so often. It speaks to my soul and quenches my spiritual thirst. The messages in this talk are amazing!!!

You can’t truly fail if you don’t give up trying ;) keep going friend. All you did was experience what you don’t want. Now you know more of what you don’t want. Go be what you do want! Sometimes we have to experience who we are NOT to learn more of who we truly are. Go forward with an assurance of what you DO want and hold onto that goal. 🤗
