NORMAL DISTRIBUTION AREA PROOF

This video lecture shows the proof that the area under the normal distribution curve is always equal to one. The proof presented uses the method of integration as a way of finding an area bounded by a curve. Furthermore the proof employs the technique of transforming a rectangular function to its equivalent polar function which can easily be integrated. You can also see in the proof the application of the laws of exponents and evaluation of functions at infinity.

I know i am 3 years too late but there are two falacies present, (1) by multiplying both sides by x, we must worry that we may be introducing an extranous solution as x may be zero. (2) there is a hidden division at the substitution stage as that substitution is zero we cannot make that sub. We are essentially misapplying the associative property.
