Pumpkins Are Coming, Maybe
We tried something new this year. We planted pumpkins in withour sorghum / sudan grass and buckwheat cover crop. The plan:
- plant the pumpkins and cover crop in the area where we had just dug potatoes. The row was already covered with straw that we used around the potato plants
- let the cover crop and pumpkins grow - the buckwheat grew first and was succeeded by the pumpkins and sorghum / sudan grass
- weed around the pumpkins
- let the pumpkins grown out into the grassy rows beyond the cover crop area
- [future] hopefully harvest pumpkins
Doing this allows us to add organic matter to the soil when we terminate the sorghum / sudan grass and it composts over the winter. The sorghum / sudan grass also acts a a mulch for the winter cover crop. Hopefully we get a good harvest of pumpkins. Innovating in small ways means trying new things.
I'm looking foward to pumpkins!

I see that this video is from 2013, but I feel like I've had this slingshot for WAY LONGER than 5yrs. Hell I think I been using this badboy for over 10 years minimum! It's by far the ABSOLUTE BEST performing slingshot I have ever used. I must have tens of thousands of rocks, marbles & bearings shot from it. Awesome product Montie! Thank you for machining and producing such a solid well made slingshot. Besides a little bit of the powder coat chipping away from the ammo hitting the base of the Y frame (which was my fault), your product still looks brand new. I can definitely use some new screws from changing out hundreds of bands on it, I think I'll get the thumb screws on your website. Anyway, thanks again man, I truly appreciate your craftsmanship. P.s.: I would greatly appreciate it if you could get back to me on when you started selling these online. It's bugging me on how long I've has this badboy. Thanks for the hundredth time.

That's a great idea about upgrading the sling. Looks like have the quick release feature found on a lot of tactical rifle slings too. I'm actually surprised that feature is not used and that style of quiver isn't more popular.

I still wander how do you manage to keep slingshots as your most sold product for so many years, given that they are practically missing from your web site/online shop. It is my first time to see a company that produces slingshots as top product, but hides this fact so well, that one has to learn it from third parties. Suppose you rely on sales in standard shops only, given that all your slingshots that i found were second hands on eBay. Still, you may think of announcing your products via Internet and making them available for online purchases.

Was the slingshot originally when you bought was raw alluminium, I do not mean dyed black! Have you dyed the slingshot yourself with black spray can color! I ask that because I ordered such a slingshot myself, and wanted to have a black one. But they did not have any blacks and that's why I ordered one from raw Allu which I'll dye myself later with a black matte spräy dose myself. Can you please tell me a process or a color! I'm grateful for every tip!

If you lightly sand the frame before painting just about any spray can paint would work. You might want to use an automotive or tractor grade paint for more durability.

I heard these were a pretty penny to pick up when they came out. still looking to purchase one though, the ability to clip the sheath anywhere on the your person seem very handy, I also heard the sheath rotates 360°. Very handy!

So the hand safety is well how safe is it? because when I upgraded from my regular home made wooden slingshot to pistolgrip pro like style, I hit that slingshot seveal times, - because I am used to shoot with round rocks and bold caps and other junk instead of "expensive ammo" ... I just like to strall to woods stop beside river, pickp some nice rocks and just shoot some improvised targets. I susspect that If I would invest in to this high-tech beauti I would need to shoot strictly the "correct ammo" in order to not destroy my hand...which I kinda need for illustrating and stuff =D

Good question.....because the bands are pulling back and tending to push the brace against the back of your hand, its actually hard to hit your hand.

Montie Roland great zombie weapon for roof top survival lol You should say on your website use very strong 0.40mm natural latex and use 5 bands on each fork for a total of 10 bands Plus for more even more punch shorten the bands a little bit more intill you can just pull it to your face but with the glove shot that will make that job easier because you wrist is taking the strain of the rest of the body plus useing any ammo like hex nuts will just kill anything with that much power behind it really will put hand held sling shots to shame Because the ownly guy who can just pull heavy 3 band thera band gold Whilst others are useing bands that are far more powerful but easier to pull back Natural latex AKA nitro bands because they are so powerful and a lot more easier to pull back and have so much punch that's just 1 band just imagine 5 bands It said on one website they are hard to pull back But I checked the reviews none of these guys are strong and they said these nitro bands have so much power and very easy to pull and said its better than thera band gold which is slower to pull plus it has a very heavy pull
