Trails, Roads & the Bike! - [ Adv Bike - S1/Ep 4 ]
If cutting through farm, forest and gravel tracks couldn't get any better...I was spoilt by vacant, thrilling and flowing twisty's reminding me of the days I thoroughly enjoyed on my road (only) touring days.
...a slight detour and a visit to Salbertrand, Italy.
We all look endlessly for that one bike that ticks all the boxes knowing that it's really about choosing the right tool for the job. I have to say for me, the KTM 890R ticks all them boxes, not perfectly but close enough!
How can a bike like this with off-road tyres be so much fun both on and off-road, have all the mod cons and return a fantastic fuel consumption?!

Let The Air Out! - [ Adv Bike - S1/Ep 3 ]
Переглядів 952 години тому
Well, the French TET is still giving but what about the 'Hydro'! A certain decision to let air out of the tyres and still feeling a little tense on the bike...this was a perfect way to shake off the cobwebs both on and off-road. A TET section not to be missed in France in my opinion! If you decide to try it, make sure you don't miss the extremely challenging climb up to Arbent (France). this se...
The Offroad Begins - [ Adv Bike - S1/Ep 2 ]

Straight from the off, I encountered a stunning forest ride leading me to a beautiful visit to Lac Genin, Oyonnax, France. This was definitely worth the effort and a place that would most definitely be a nice choice for a campsite or an interim stop for refreshments. This lead me directly to last year's unfinished business...the first off-road section of this years trip heading south on the Fre...

A specific route or destination was never actually decided so I prepped the bike, packed the luggage and set off! You certainly enjoyed those bends and that detour was wonderful, that house on the right looked perfect! Great video. 👏
Really good video
Thank you
That was great, fab scenery and very professional. What lovely people you were lucky enough to meet last year and visit this, what wonderful hospitality and baking.
Yes, memories for ever and they maybe visiting the UK next year coming.
@sprockets_shafts oh that would be great!
That looked spectacular after the disgustingly wet ride to the port and the colour of that water 😮
You deserve to be pleased with yourself! 👏
Amazing wilderness, you can’t buy the benefits of doing something like that, both physical and mental. Those knees are taking a battering so not surprising they’re complaining! It happens a lot in tennis too. They probably just need a less bumpy course for a little while. You so deserve those little rewards but where on earth do you find an honesty cake larder?
It was a case of too much all at once! A little more prep would have been the best plan. The cake larder was close to the centre of Pooley Bridge Village on a side street. 😃
Oh well, you’ll know next time. Ah, Pooley bridge village, a bit too far for a cake tonight! 😁
Well done!!! That looked wet but invigorating! Great filming too 👏
Thank you
Hi what navigation app are you using , great video
Hi, I use the paid version of OSMand App but I also use my Garmin XT. The reason I use both of them is because I have one zoomed in to my actual position and the other zoomed OUT so I can see details of what’s coming ahead as in landmarks or more geographic detail.
That guitar tune is a straight copy of silent hill promise reprise. Forget the whistling.
And now you have to go back to get it camera
My camera man does that 🤪
Thinking of getting a R9, can it do XC style ridding? I do gravel and pavement and was going for a Procaliber 9 but the R9 can be had for the same price, thinking to get one and throw in some 2.4s
Years ago I always went for a full sus bike for jumps, more comfortable and forgiving than a HT. however I have bought the R9 as a compromise to eventually do bike packing. The Procaliber will be more efficient due to its purpose and geometry but the R9 in my opinion gives you that bit more capability offroad and especially on the descents due to its geometry. If I didn’t have bikepacking in mind…I would go for a full suspension bike. Saying that I am impressed with the R9 and feel its was the best choice for what I need. Hope this helps
@@sprockets_shafts Thank you for taking time to reply back. I love the geo of the R9 also, and have also been looking at Canyon Neurons/Spectral, full sus are temping, but I do mostly light terrains/trails, pavement and just want something futureproof, easy to pedal, no jumps bigger than a feet.
@adnanmajeed6916 - it is an aggressive HT and there are more efficient HT options but I am happy to sacrifice that as I am not in a rush on the trails (if you know what I mean) and can enjoy the descents more.
Nice!
Thank you 🤙🏻
Really liked watching your trip, you seemed to be more confident than you said you were. Love having the coffee by the river pretty nice place to have a break. However, keep up the filming as its just always so good to see what is on our doorsteps. Great effort.
Thank you for watching and the comment. The feedback is always welcome. I have only been riding offroad for 12 months but I have done mountain biking many years ago so some skills have transferred across. My aim is to find places to stay for lunch (on nice days) rather than a cafe or petrol station, then cook something trail side. I am looking to do something to accompany the riding we do.
…I have done one for the Lake District too.
Great video, you captured the ride and fab scenery so well! 👏
Not done much of yorkshire,..but looks great, just trying to suss what part of the TET that is,..will dm on insta now 👍🏻
That was terrific, great scenery and captured so well. You’ll soon have a good following if you persevere, I much prefer these vlogs to boring TV 👏
Thank you…I thoroughly enjoy everything from the adventure to the editing…I am basic as I am self taught but small progress is better than nothing. Any constructive criticism is appreciated. 😃
@@sprockets_shafts great to enjoy the whole thing and the quality is amazing, self taught too!
Nice combo Bri! 😁🙌
Thanks Mattias…I am trying! 😊 long way to go and need to have the confidence for some voice over or talking on the videos 🙈.
@@sprockets_shafts Just do it 😁🙌
I will try a voice never on this video and see how it goes. ☺️
Damn why did they make it so ugly, tubing 😂 why not flat metal like the givi racks
Great video!! I assume it was a day trip kind of ride, have you a GPX file for the route? I’d have to camp given I’m further south than Yorkshire but love to have a go!
Hi Mate, thanks for the comment…there are various route/track options around that area but I do have this one yes. Head over to My instagram and have a look and send me a private message. 👍🏻
Very impressed!..especially riding down Fremington Edge on such a large bike. I have a 790R and live locally to that area. Clearly I need to grow some and use my bike for more than very sedate green lanes! What tires are you on? I'm on Karoo 4's.
Just realised you're on Anakee Wild's.
Hi Mate, thanks for the comment…think the ski slope I did in Italy last year broke me in to the downhills 😂. I have only been riding offroad for just over a year Myself but I have transferred some skills from my mountain bike days I suppose. Yes Anakee Wilds…a great compromise for on and offroad in my opinion.
…the Karoo 4 would be fine in My opinion. Obviously we all have a choice at a more aggressive tyre but then that affects on road and wet conditions handling and they tend to wear out much faster. Have a head over to My insta page for more pics etc of the European TET last year etc
I'd like to do some of that ride in the dark, make it a bit more interesting.. Nice vid clip.. 👍
That isn’t something I have thought of doing but a great idea! 👍🏻thanks
What wind screen is that
Hi Jason, that is a Power bronze double bubble screen. I have a video showing it ua-cam.com/video/nZ4q6gXywmg/v-deo.htmlsi=TXd9aIuMEX6EXM6t
Love the lakes did it on a tiger 955i last year. Might do it again Sunday. Great vids
Thanks 👍🏻 - I only live an hour away so lucky for the easy access. It’s a great place to be especially on the bike. 😃
@@sprockets_shafts amazing same here live barrow. Me and a mate ride the lanes a lot.
Awesome trails Brian! Love that there are alot of technical parts and the landscape is wonderful. Cozy cafés are as good as a coffee on the trail as well ☕🤌🏻
Thanks Mattias...I agree a cafe stop can be great if finding a good one...As you know a coffee or beer on the trail/camp is a different experience ;) - thanks for the comment
Apologies for the wind noise ☺️ My camera set up is basic 🙈
@tampodcast
Awesome to see 😎
How come nobody talks about replacing the center bulb?
I havent got the bike anymore but i am guessing too much hassle or lack of space…aswell as the fact its not used very often. Good question though 👍🏻
@@sprockets_shafts agh I think your right. I'm unsure if it takes the same H7 bulb or a different LED. The space is also a concern. I'm not sure there's enough room. Thanks for the quick response ☺️
Austin racing with baffle?? What a blasphemy...
Yes i agree but my neighbours weren’t very fond of the noise 😂
Si può montare sulla tuono 1100 GT 2021 ?
Sorry I cannot confirm if this is possible
Hi mate have you got a link to this bubble screen? can’t seem to find one
This was off ebay : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303508687139?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CH1DNCAMSFG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=YWnAH4QHRTm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Cheers pal
Haha the enduro life is so addictive isn't it!!
Totally! I am not very good at it but enjoy it 😂
@@sprockets_shafts ah man that’s the beauty, it doesn’t matter how good you are, you can always get better. I’ve been riding for 3 years and still love it as much as the first day I tried it
Clean bike bro, imo tho I would have went with a race fit exhaust👌🤘
Will it fit on a 2009 Aprilia Tuono 1000 V2?
I am unsure but with the very little space available on the v4…I would think so but i can’t guarantee. Sorry.
Is it just an 1 allen key bolt that holds the baffle in ?? Sounds very nice
Yes it is 👍🏻
Does this fit rsv4 1100 2019?
I am not 100% sure but I guess so
Great. Where is this please?
This is in the Black Forest, Germany
What tail is that as on someone’s Chanel it didn’t fit with the evotech one but yours seems to fit ok , great video thanks for posting it 👍
Hi & thanks…it was a cheaper non branded option from Ebay UK but I cannot find the item unfortunately. (This maybe it but I cannot remember…www.ebay.co.uk/itm/APRILIA-TUONO-1100-V4R-V4-R-RR-FENDER-ELIMINATOR-TAIL-TIDY-BLACK-2010-2019-/275027384872?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 )
Finally got around to ordering this kit for my 2016 I reckon it will fit! Cheers
How did you route the cables from the grips, I struggled to get the connectors through any of the tight gaps, in the end I have the connections joined up just above the radiator.
I routed them down the side of the headstock, above the top of the radiator and down the inside of the the frame towards the side seat fairing. There is just enough space for the cables to go through but it is tight. I tie wrapped the cables as the y pass the radiator so they dont touch
…Down the left side of the bike
Ok cheers I will try again over the winter month.did you have to lift the petrol tank for access
@@colinkennedy3125 no I routed it through the inside of the frame no probs
Cheers thanks for your help much appreciated
Hey...where did you get the side panel "italy" style decals? Thanks.
They were on the bike when i got it but pretty sure you can get them from Ebay.
It looks like we need multiple parts to complete the kit. Do you have the list from this video please? thank you
Hi ... I would like to buy the Easy Eagle kit for my Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC 2014, are they okay? Do they heat up so much? If they burn, can they damage the motorcycle's electrical system? Thanks a lot ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
I cannot guarantee but I had no issues with mine
Will that work on 2016 ?
I cannot guarantee but Yes I think it is exactly the same.
How is the beam ? After testing lots of different led model into halogen bulb, i think halogen has better beam to enlight at night. The only better option was xenon but battery didn't like it.
Yes I agree with you but I bought them purely for the cosmetics… I don’t like the factory yellow halogen bulbs
It looks and sounds epic 👌!
Looks like they're out of stock 😞 gonna keep my eye out for them. Looks good man 👍
Thanks - I have just followed the link and it shows they are in stock.
Did you get some?
Nice, useful way to carry your bits n bobs, The bike has such a great looking rear end, you just need to forget that and go with practical on the longer days out, should they come round this summer😱😱👍
Yes and lets hope so! 🏍
Awesome bike, don’t know why the revised model was all black. This generation looked way better.
Yes I completely agree! It is also a bike that could be hung up on the wall In your home! Have you got one?
Definitely. No I haven’t but I would definitely considered one
Kind of, but i think the new gen v4 models will come out next year or yr after, it will have another design update too i guess.
A686 Melmerby up to Hartside 👍
Yes - a road you never get tired of. And the road at the other side to Middleton in Teasedale is excellent too
@@sprockets_shafts Hi, I have a question for you if you don’t mind, I’ve got an 899 Panigale at the moment, but I’ve been eyeing the Tuono V4 1100 up as a replacement, the only thing that puts me off it a bit is the Tuono’s reputation for drinking fuel, ..can you tell me please, how many miles do you get from a fully brimmed tank ( assuming that you fill the tank sat on the bike and are holding it upright) until the reserve light comes on? The Panigale does about 120 miles to reserve light, how does the Tuono compare? Cheers 👍
@@1956colinb - this is a very interesting question in a way because when I researched the the answer to this question (after hearing the reports of it being a thirsty pig), I was told the tank range was anything from 90-120miles max! After owning the bike I soon realised that the figures I was told was utter rubbish! My figures reflect I ‘My’ everyday road riding from days out or few day tours. I get 0n average 135-140 miles until the reserve light comes on then I base the reserve tank on 20miles max. The maximum I have ever had to a full tank was 168miles (however, granted, that was a steady day out). I am no hero but I wouldn’t say I am slow either. The figures the other people were telling me must quite literally ride around in 2 and 3rd gear revving the bollox off them.
@@1956colinb - ...the Tuono is a great compromise of comfort, handling and performance. A bike I have been looking for a long time that ticks all the boxes for my needs. In saying that, I am considering selling mine very soon as I am wanting to pursue some track day riding. I wont track this as its such a beautiful bike and in fantastic condition.
@@sprockets_shafts Thanks for the quick reply 👍 I think people that say they only get 90 miles out of a tank on the road must be filling them up when the bike is on the sidestand, that way you don’t start with a full tank anyway! As long as it will do 110 - 120 ish to a tankful that will do for me, I’m not particularly bothered about the mpg, just the tank range for fuel stops. What year is your Tuono, is it the electronic suspension model? I’ve actually tested that one and was amazed that you couldn’t change the suspension modes on the fly,.. you have to stop the bike first and then it will let you change the suspension mode, what the hell use is that? Totally negates the point of having electronic suspension to my mind 🤷🏻♂️??
