My fourth great-grandfather, Padre Gabriel Gonzales, was the last Spanish Dominican missionary in Baja California in the early 1820s. He and a Pericú native, Dionisia Villalobos, had and raised 11 children together. He successfully challenged the Mexican government's efforts to secularize the missions and was also one of the resistance leaders against the American military occupation in 1847-48. He would host American soldiers, get them drunk, and seize their weapons in their intoxicated state. To prevent the Mexican government from seizing the mission lands, he deeded them to his children under an assumed alternative last name. Due to the region's remoteness and the government's anti-clerical stance, church authorities largely turned a blind eye to him having a family. In the end, he served as a parish priest and was officially recorded as baptizing his own grandchildren.

We have a married Catholic priest in Michigan. He was a married Episcopal priest who converted to Catholicism. Married priests / ministers of some denominations who convert may remain married and become Catholic priests. Also, the Melkites are an Eastern rite church in Communion with the Roman Church. Melkite priests are allowed to marry prior to ordination.

The Virgin Mary was a wife. She was a Jewish housewife with a Jewish family of children, as the Gospels inform us of Yeshua's brothers and sisters, so it is not a sin to marry and have a wife. Mary was chosen as a pure vessel by God for the miraculous birth as a virgin of Yeshua the Son of God, but after that she must have had regular normative marital relations with Joseph if we believe what the Bible says. She was blessed among women for this special role, but she had other children after Yeshua, which is not a sin under God, but what is normal in Jewish culture.

CATHOLIC P-R-I-E-S-T has the MOST SACRIFICES among any kind of vocations in life Because they Are the only religious sect who are not allowed to get married. Im just curious for many reasons. I can feel their loneliness, longingness and they lack some aspect of q physical need to boost further their self esteem. Im just wondering if in any case they are allowed to get married then hoping they will livd happily ever after. God created eve for adam so he has companion in the paradise that means that God sees and feel the need to have a partner in life but does God really wants Priest to be alone and just be praising God. I knew God is not selfish and God is so loving. Salute for all of you Priest because you are like a doctor that heals the spiritual side of people who are at lost, exorcist and many more. May cupid heal your lonely heart and mind. We will pray for all of you... Take care always ❤️

In catholic faith, a widower can become a priest. That priest was probably a widower.
