1. Best time to travel for Tiger Sighting - Summer Months between March to June
2. Park remains closed between July to Mid-October. Some buffer zones are open
3. Madhya Pradesh Gates - Turia, Karmajheri and Jamtara gates (Core zones); Teliya, Rukhad, Masurnala, Khumbhpani and Khawasa (buffer zones)
4. Maharshtra Gates - Sillari and Khusapar (Core zones); Kolitmaara, Chorbahuli, Khubada, Paoni and Surewani (buffer zones)
5. Safaris can be booked either directly through the government website or through the resorts in the area.
6. Safari charges, if booked directly, do not include the vehicle and guide charges.

Things we carried:
Reusable water bottles
Comfortable and warm footwear suitable for jungle
Winter wear (if travelling during winter months) as the temperatures in the morning and evening tends to be low during winters
Sun hats / caps
Bandana or mask to cover your nose and mouth as protection against dust. It is very dusty all through the year.
Sunblock lotion
Binoculars
Always, LEAVE THE PLACE CLEANER THAN YOU FOUND IT.

      Not sure. We made it in time last three time we visited.

      I could not get the slot for 11:00 - 3:00, so I got the 7:00 -11:00. I've read that they are not very strict about the slot, and I hope that is true, cus there is not way we will make it at 7:00. Will let you know here. Thanks!

      I visited on Saturday (30th Sep) - 21 of us. They don't seem to care much about the time slot (we reached at 10:00 am) as long as you have the tickets. I even saw people buying tickets on the spot. The bus ride to Kaas from parking is free (Rs. 150 for entry fee includes that). We were even allowed to walk from the parking to Kaas since we din't want to wait in the line. Very crowded on weekends. Flowers were bloming (purple and yellow mostly), but it was a cloudy day and that kind of ruined the view. I'd recommend checking the weather forcast and try to visit on week days for best experience.

      @@thehighroads it is incredible that sound is so important for videos. I saw one person while also trying to learn how to master sound on my recordings, said, "People will watch poor image quality provided there is good sound, while the opposite is not true." Saying that I have found it very hard to start with the basics of sound as a non techie amateur video maker. I don't think You Tube will allow me to share the link to a video I found really helpful produced by Rare Finds Sounds design produced a video to help me titled 'How to record and sync audio for film making Vlogs'.

      Nagaland needs a permit if you are staying overnight in Kohima. None of the other states we crossed has that requirement.
