Una grande canzone molto semplice, ma intensa, ispirata e commovente , come sapeva fare John meglio di ogni altro. Un brano ideale per celebrare un matrimonio, o, quantomeno , un legame affettivo, con i migliori auspici . Come molte coppie anglosassoni già fanno spesso. Ottima l'idea di inserire ad un certo punto la voce di McCartney, un pò diversa da quella di John, la quale rende il brano più vario e quindi ancora più efficace. A mio modesto avviso senza Yoko i Beatles ci sarebbero ancora con un repertorio vastissimo ,eccezionale, inarrivabile, capace di spaziare in ogni genere di musica, da quella più leggera, brillante e melodica a quella , più seria, profonda e aspra, sperimentale e di impegno sociale e politico . E molto probabilmente John, il quale durante la breve carriera solista troppo impegnato nel sociale, troppo esposto, influente e popolare, specie sui giovani di tutto il mondo , sarebbe ancora vivo.

My wife found this song goodness knows where and said to me I want this is at our wedding, and as a long time Beatles fan, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never heard it but I had my son sing it At our wedding in Hardwick Hall Derbyshire and yes it was magical special to me so each time I hear it I’m amazed XX
