Thanks to you mentioning it, there is an extremely high chance that Ultimate Mode will make it's way to the channel. I'll take any excuse to fire this game up again. Also plan on looping back around and plaything through Official Mode again because the recording equipment I had for this is run was much worse than what I have now.

@@TheWeebinar honestly, the only thing I would like when playing a scenario in ultimate mode, just play as one of the characters featured in that scenario. Like if the scenario features Kira, Shinn, etc then just play as them instead of say, playing a character like amuro who has nothing to do in that scenario. Hope I'm making sense, but if not then I'll try to explain it more.

@@calebtesfaye3925 Makes sense, you'd rather see Char Aznable in a scene that is lore relevant to him instead of Master Asia in a red Zaku II fighting in a UC scenario that he has nothing to do with. Will definitely keep that mind and keep the pilot / suit combos as lore appropriate as I can.

Agreed. Heimdal is a great mech even without the sword and I would have loved to have been able to see it doing crazy anime finishers using Infinity Mode.

You sure about that? As far as I know North Korea, like a lot of other countries, never got one. We only covered what appears in the anime, so if it was only in a manga or Newtype Magazine that's why it isn't here. At some point in the future I'll be circling back around to do all of the other ones.

Sounds like a fun system and a fun session. You ain't kidding, Mobile Suits are pretty damn powerful. Would be a different world if they were actually real.

After checking several times there appear to be no errors and I have gone back in and cleaned up the description section so I am not sure what is causing them to not show up. @@TheWeebinar Sounds like an official answer. Yeah, I already see that you removed spaces and fixed the description a little bit. I actually googled out possible fixes, here are the list: - Your UA-cam account must have more than 1k followers. - Don't forget to add a 00:00 timestamp. - Add more than 3 chapters. - Chapters are longer than 10 seconds. - Timestamps are listed in ascending order. - Mind the punctuation and spacing. - Do not include clickable links to chapters.

It seems likely that the cause is that there are a few chapters that are less than 10 seconds although I seem to remember that they were working at one point so I wonder if that was something that has recently changed. Either way, I appreciate the heads up and I will be accounting for this when I come back around to make a better version of this video with higher quality recordings.

Happy to hear you enjoyed the game and the documentary! It's been decades since I first touched Xenogears and many worthy contenders have tried to dethrone it, yet it still holds the distinction of being my favorite game of all time.

As a filthy gaijin, I appreciate this sort of perspective. In light of this, would you say that the Gundam wiki has it listed incorrectly? A cursory google search will yield this gundam.fandom.com/wiki/CAMW-13_MW-Rai which clearly shows it labelled as "Rai" instead of "Rei" and since I cannot read Japanese I relied upon that.

@@TheWeebinar It's (awkwardly) transliterated as "RAI" in English in the Sunrise Mechanics CG book as well as the Newtype 100% G-Saviour book, when a more appropriate transliteration might be be "RAY" as that's how it's literally pronounced (as well as in the script). The successor suit in the game is called "Reid" (レイド）, as in "raid".

Thank you for setting the record straight. Going forward, how would you recommend that I get these pronunciations correct? Should I always double check the Japanese with the English? or is there some sort of definitive source that you recommend which I can use to get the accurate pronunciation?

Very true, there are a plethora of incorrect translations and omissions. Hard to tell if his Japanese proficiency was to blame or not. Personally I think Richard was saddled with an impossible task due to the time crunch and all of the staff quitting on him, so really, we probably got the best we were going to get from just one guy who was asked to translate a 60 hour JRPG that was sleeping in the office just to get it done on time.

Maria doesn’t have any, sadly. From reading interviews about it she was supposed to but they were cut due to budget constraints. You can see all of her special abilities in the special abilities showcase here on the channel if you’re interested.

@@TheWeebinar I knew there was quite a bit of unused content that fell on the cutting room floor. I just wasn’t aware of how much. We really DID lose half the game because of Squaresoft being more dedicated towards making FFVIII. 🤦🏻‍♂️
