Great band but just a little bit too fast
Excellent..!!!
At 1:36 that looks like a VERY young Dr. Birkby on perc?? 😂
Is that a young Bob Gill on guitar? And the trumpet solo is not Dale Gibson...he's one to the left of the soloist. I was in love with Wendy Picton and the girl tuba player, when I played with The New Squadronaires many years ago! Haha!
Yes, you are correct on all accounts.
Great memories
thanks glad you enjoyed it 🎼😁👍
Yeah, great, and thanks
Arranged by my Dad Jerry Gray for Artie Shaw in 1938
How the sax sound has changed over the decades
Now this is foot tapping music!
many thanks
Nice
Thanks
'S wonderful!!
Many thanks!!
Worked as a DJ at a Pontin's holiday camp in 1972, Harry Bence Orchestra were the resident band. Not a 'big band' like this clip but they were very proficient. At that time Harry's band did a residency on Cunard Caribbean cruises in the Winter. Some of the band members told me stories of previous residencies when the Count Basie Orchestra was on board the vessel for a short while. Count Basie himself got up and sat in with Harry's band on occasion. No higher accolade!
Hi Mick thanks for the memories
Bei ricordi di gioventù 😂
grazie molto
Gran banda, gran música.gram época. Y sigue la alegría !
A grabacion esta muy rapida es mas lento
Tienes que saber que se balancea muy bien.
Love it to heaven.❤❤❤❤

Primera vez que escuche begin to beguine , fue en Hong Kong, en 1948 + - en un radio transistor.🎉❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉❤🎉🎉😅😅😅😅😅😅🎉❤😅😅😅
gracias espero que hayas disfrutado la interpretación
Back in the day tempos were slower and people danced to the songs - and they knew how to dance. There has been a lot of water under the bridge and after many decades of disco, house music and speed heavy metal - audiences seem to have got used to things being a lot faster… modern audiences tend to sit and listen, these aren’t really dance bands any more. No reason why they couldn’t be, with the right audience in the right venue - but sadly their seems to be little demand for it 🥲
“There” - flippin’ auto correct:(
stop getting so emotional
@@Fire_Axus it is music- you are supposed to react emotionally. Maybe you are confusing it with morse code or something?
@@SAHBfan no
Wonderful! I liked big band music during late 1970s, as a teen.
Fantásticos.. saludos españoles 😅❤
Tan contento de que hayas disfrutado la música
My mum’s favourite tune.
Lovely band & played strictly as written -- really great . Makes me want to get up & dance like I used to in the 1950's
Not bad…..eh..so so
What a great job you do Harry Bence. You and your orchestra sound exactly like the top bands of that great era. I enjoy listening to you and your guys playing all day. God bless. JP
Undancable??? Never heard of a quickstep?
The Aeroplane is a British WW11 Avro Lancaster.
One of the best bombers of WW2! Love the Brits👍🇺🇸
Weren't they used for the night-time bombings, whereas our B-17s were used during the day?
You are correct. In this 'context', a Boeing B-17 'Flying Fortress' would have been much more appropriate. @@leecox1513
Amo este tipo de musica.Esta pieza en especial me recuerda a dos hnos ya fallecidos, les encataba.Gracias porque nos hace tenerlos presentes siempre.😊
muchas gracias me alegro de que tengas buenos recuerdos
When ever I hear music like this I always think about my father-in-law because he was in the US Navy at the end of WW2
There are many renditions on UA-cam, including Shaw’s. Pick any one you like. I do think Shaw’s is the best one, though.
Shaw made the song famous
I remember this from when I was about 6 years old or a little later about 1947 or 48
Very well played.
Many thanks glad you enjoyed it
Nice sound Freddy, pity your dad is no longer here. Thanks for sharing😃😎 Lee B
Thanks for listening
Undanceable yes, "but not for dancing" but it swings just great, since Harry knew Artie, I don't think he would have minded a bit
