This was an aberration for him. I saw him/them in the States countless times from '75-'78 and they were in perfect form. Hearing this recording had to have helped him straighten out his act as he usually has the most amazing pitch perfect voice and a sincere dedication to his work.

From all I've heard and read about Carl Wilson, he was a great human being and probably one of the most grounded members of The Beach Boys. We all make mistakes in our lives, but lucky for us, they don't come back to haunt us on UA-cam. The interview he did the following day was a class act thing to do and his apology was very sincere and heartfelt. He was and will always be my favorite Beach Boy. RIP Carl.

I was a 17yr old. I'd won 2 tickets to Sat and Sun gig from 2SM having sung a diabolical version of Little Deuce Coupe to win them. I was and still am a BB nut. I didn't even notice. What I do remember was that it pissed down rain both days. I don't have any problems with Carl. So he got pissed. He still had a crack. God bless ya Carl!

in order to do that you would need a clean sound board audio recording with hardly any bleed through from other instruments into carl's mic. and then, if you slowed it down to half the speed, then pitch shifted it up a whole octave, and doubled the tempo, it would be absurdly obvious that that's what had been done because it just wouldn't sound natural at all. there would be lots of obvious glitches in the audio which even the un-trained ear would be able to detect without any difficulty.
