    Add a comment... Even though they just infected the world with plant VD, watch the California growers continue to bull-shit the world with their "were are the best growers i of cannabis in the world malarkey. That hasn't been true since the 1970s and from my perspective in the 1980s the Hawaiians were producing higher quality product. AND all the people who may have once made that true are gone. Passed away or retired. I'm just sitting here minding mine own business and for the first time in my career I buy "California" strains. Next thing you know I'm losing all of my prized mother plants one after another and by the time I really get a handle on things all my prized mothers , about 9,000 dollars in genetics GONE. Just as legalization is sweeping the country. What an AMAZING coincidence. All in the greedy rush for Californians to make the most money the fastest in an attempt to monpolize the industry. You people are a perversion to the once friendly and kind weed world I helped build. And you have ruined it. And then sit here professing to be the experts. So typical of the corporate world I intentionally avoided like the plague. I suceeded a little too well, because after 30 years, they came with politicians and lobbyists to rape my world. It's like that movie Avatar.

    Therefore russett, cyclamen and broad mites are still bringing this plague to relevance. Fungus gnats, root aphids, thrips, the usual are co-symptoms more likely than an underlying microscopic mite infestation. Unbelievable that this is still happening. Over ten years now.

      Because until the 2018 farm bill legalizing hemp (anything under .03% THC) the crap in California STAYED in California. But once that law was passed California grow operations started mailing clones out to people across the world exploiting the loophole in the law. And seeds also became legal, which has proven to be another vector for infection.

      And it tastes like shit. That was the first complaint for me. I recently looked at trichomes with and without HPLVD under a microscope and uninfected trichomes have smooth supple round contours, and the infected trichomes looked like flattened Beach balls with all the air leaked out. This viroid DIRECTLY attacks trichomes rupturing them and then all of the cannabinoinds and terpenes ooze out and evaporate off leeching the psychoactive compounds out. It still gets you high but the entourage effect is gone with the smell and taste, as well as peak THC. it's a mess.

      I recently watched a lecture here on UA-cam by an Indian PhD and he said if you breed seed from infected plants the seeds will also be infected at a rate of 43%. Which is 4 out of every ten seeds. It's the first I have heard this but I NEVER brought a clone into my space yet I have this viroid. What I did was try to add Californian strains to my plant bank. And that's EXACTLY when my plants started turning. And they went through what I would call co-moribidities. Mites, mildews, botrytis...which I suspect started when the plants were infected. I cleared everything up over an 18 month period, leaving the presence of this viroid obvious. I haven't yet but I am going to start lab testing. It Infuriates me, those who caused this will also profit from it, through lab testing and tissue culture services NEVER needed before California legalized.

      I’ve also noticed hollow stems in two completely different cultivars that were both infected. I noticed that was part of the the weak stem and cracking branches. I had Cannabinoids/terpenes tested and came back @ 3.7% terpenes and 21.6 Total THC however when there’s a environmental trigger that’s when things stared going down hill right around week 6 which starts with chlorosis at the upper shade leaves which can look like the plants are starting to fade earlier than normal.

    • @brianturner7956
      @brianturner7956 2 роки тому

      Yes for sure absolutely. I see the main orange pistils and beginning of the majority of death starting week 6 then getting much worse week 7-9. That’s the viroid.

    • @benjaminpadovani7713
      @benjaminpadovani7713 2 роки тому

      I cant confirm if pistils going orange sooner were symptoms but i definitely have my suspicions i ended up testing positive hop latent and had to burn everything to start fresh with new genetics. Testing isnt 100% tho because some plants that were visibly sick with hops latent came negative and some that looked healthy came back positive on a test.

I wonder if people are going to freak out because of covid 19 And now their weed has a virus Just how much of all this is going hurt our industry . IF it won't hurt to smoke the viroid we need to educate the public .

    Perhaps the trouble is rhat, through the "sterile" or more broadly "scientific" method of "attempting to eliminate vectors of attack," the unintended consiquence is that we are also stripping the "crop culture" of the thousands of "other unknown bio life" that if also left "un-fettered" would hold this particular "viroid" in check, keeping the rates of infection well in check. Keep in mind, good people, that humans are trying to be smarter that "nature itself" by demanding plants to grow in boxes when, since the dawn of time, they grew just fine with ZERO "human intervention." My question is this: Have any "clinical trials" been run where, perhaps, seed stock with mean or median viroid loads have been propogated back to a natural environment and also well isolated from other specimins grow from the same "control" seed lot? Reason suggests it would be a worth-while study for we humans to participate in. A "what happens if we put this plant back into the place "we found it" and simply "observe the results" when we "don't try to fix it." It would perhaps be the least expensive *study* to do, because their is no need to force the plant to grow in an entirely man made, resource dependant "environment." I guess you could call it the Ron Popile (sp?) approach. "Set it, and forget it." :)

      @@erikbrodin2198 To quote, or at least paraphrase Mark Twain - "Thank God I never let my education interfear with my ability to think." It may not be an entirely accurate quote, but quite honestly, as "a people" I can see how smart "we" can be - but I also ask myself, are we truely a wise people? Some days, we get the bull, but some days Señor, the bull - he gets you! I honestly believe the best approach is the simplest one first. "Spreading OUT a base of naturally occurring diversity according to what does well in a particular region is what prevents genetic collapse. I do hope you and yours are enjoying some sunshine today, and are just as grateful for the rainny days as well! If you're not having some good wholesome fun along the way, well then make a plan to do that, eh? It's GOOD FOR YOU!
