Altigue everyone forgets about Dark Magic Veil. I'm a devoted DM duelist. With the new fusion Veil has become very important. Especially for having to go second.

Cody Gabehart you’re right, but it’s unsearchable as well, which means it’s inconsistent. And if you’re trying to have a DMK first turn.... you’re going to need 3 cards in hand just to go off... 2 of which are unsearchable, forcin you to have 3 copies JUST to see it quicker, which can brick the hell out of your hand. If you want a reliable way to get him out turn 1.. you need a searchable card that summons DM from Deck 1st turn... AND searches Eye of Timaeus first turn.. sounds like too much to ask for to me, but on the other hand it’s DM... like RE this deck ain’t going anywhere no matter how many powerful cards it gets... it MIGHT become T1 if it had more powerful cards, MIGHT.

Honestly, I'm running the spellbook engine, dark magic veils, eye of timeus, and one odd eyes fusion. Also, if you need to get a dm to your hand faster there's always summoners art. Also, I've experimented with an e-hero prisma for another first turn DM possibility with a foolish burial effect for eternal. Also, with these added spells, bump up dark magic inheritance. Now I'm not saying you'll always get a first turn Dragon Knight, but you can definitely get it second fairly consistently and if you can't last 2 turns sith a dm deck, then I'd choose a different archetype. I also have an odd eyes DM deck relying on dissolver and odd eyes fusion to get dragon knight. It's super fun and super consistent. Plus the odd eyes cards have some sweet effects as well.

Cody Gabehart I have no problems getting DMK turn 3. It’s easy. Turn 1 is what I care about. And the chances of doing that consistently are very slim. I play with the same cards and I am very attuned to how to play DMs, it’s the speed of the deck overall, not being able to turbo out the boss monster and the savior Card of the deck. Other than that it’s fine minus a couple of bricky hands every now n then.

If you play around with OCG links that arent in TCG (yet) ... You can actually turn two dark magicians into tomahawk and then to a Co-linked Firewall (Or Borrelload) + Double Co-linked Trigate + Co-linked Proxy Dragon + one token. And if you have rod in your hand and still didnt do your normal summon. You can add one more Proxy Dragon and make your Trigate triple Co-linked. Or you can go for Skull Dread for the draw power which is very helpful Last but not least... You can go for topological bomber. If you have eternal soul you can special summon Dark Magician every turn to Topological Bombers zone for repeated Raigekis at will. Dark Magicians are still inconsistent as fuck tho xD

I found a link 2 that fits my needs. Qliphort genius does what I need since tamahawks tokens are machines. I don't need all of that extra link stuff as my extra deck is packed as is with 6 cards just for the link engine and at the end of the day it's still a rank 7 deck. I focus on banishing and getting int DMDK for protection. My build is consistent enough, but it could still use more in terms of getting into DMDK. Granted it is still a glass cannon deck that cant really go off until turn 2, but if you get everything you need turn 1 you can otk on turn 2 pretty easily.
