I agree. Honestly I don't know a whole heck of a lot but I know enough that I would just let it go. Maybe laugh at some of the more outrageous stuff but if someone just says, "hey, I have Tourette's," I would just be like, "ok, any particular tics I have to look out for or things I should ignore or pay attention to?" And then let's just get on with it.

What you said, even without knowing much about it, is truly commendable. Even tho it shouldn't be, because it's supposed to be just respect and common sense. But unfortunately that's not the world we live. So as someone who has Tourrete's, you have my respect. And you're a great person, know that.

@@theamazinganonymous7847 Wow! Thank you so much. That is so nice. Like you said, it seems like common sense, but as they say, common sense isn't so common anymore. Bottom line, people just want to be treated as people. As a bit of a tangent, I am a big follower of standup comedy. There is much we can learn from these great and humorous social commentators. And in this "cancellation" world we live in, comedians are really coming under fire. But the greatest insult comics are great because they are all inclusive. Everybody gets made fun of! Most people do not want to be excluded for their "disability" or what makes them different, they just want people to look beyond that to the person underneath that superficial "difference". I love comics like Jeff Ross, Lisa Lampanelli and of course the late, great Don Rickles. They actually see the world and the people in it on a level playing field where those differences get pointed out in a way that we all can laugh at and then move on. Not to be mean, but because at the end of the day, we all have our own disabilities - some are just easier to notice than others. And it is a healthy thing to laugh at our shortcomings because there is strength and acceptance there, in each other and ourselves. And that is what makes Anita a great spokesperson and representative (I think anyway) for Tourette's. She is not afraid to laugh at herself. She doesn't take anything too seriously because, well, why would you? It is silly. Some of things she says are silly... and profane... and shocking. 🤣 Anyway, she has made it ok to be different and I'm glad people have had this opportunity to spend time with her as someone with Tourette's because it means that when/if you actually meet someone, maybe they will be more accepting and understanding. That's certainly been the case with me. Sorry for the longwinded rant/exposition - the curse of being a writer - we tend to ramble. 😂😂

@@tattoodude8946 Oh my god! There is not one thing you said here that I don't agree with! What you said about laughing off your disabilities and or problems and taking them lightly without getting offended and cancelling then constantly, is something that I very much resonate with. I've always agreed with that, and hence, cancel culture has always seemed like a pain in the arse for me. Comedy is starting to die because some great stand up comedians or just people in general are afraid to make jokes, in fear they'll get cancelled for it. And i hate that. Anita is such a great person and she is the living and breathing embodiment of this. I really, truly, wish I could watch her. But i unfortunately can't. There are many problems that people with Tourrete's have to face but one of the most annoying ones is that if someone else has Tourrete's and they tic, you tic too. Someone's else's tics triggers the other person's too. And that's why, watching Anita is like a whole day of pain and migraine on it's own because my tics get triggered constantly and it leads to unbearable and an uneasy amount of pain. She's been an inspiration to me ever since I discovered her, the fact that with such a disability, someone is still able to get that far, and do something as "exposing", well, to put it simply, to do something that requires you to put yourself completely out there in the eyes of people and give them the power of judgement with this disability, is truly commendable and exceptionally inspiring. When I was younger, my Tourrete's was the main cause of my extreme depression. It was just this time, where I had no idea what was happening to me and I was scared and my tics were far worse than they are now, thankfully. I didn't know how to control them or calm them or satisfy them, at all. And my toxic, strict, asian family being themselves, mocked me, insulted me, shouted at me, and what not. This lead to a very deep episode of depression that I went through at such a young age, first dealing with that shit awful pain and than with others judgement. Especially my family. I was getting bullied at school at some point when they started noticing my tics. They made fun of me and used to mock me and impersonate my tics and then ask the other kids to guess who they were impersonating. It was a rough time and something I'd never want to look back at. Just appreciate the fact that it helped me to grow so, so, much better and stronger. You're 100% right! And trust me, I'm not being nice. You don't have to thank me! These are merely facts. You should know how much of a good person you are. And btw, sorry for this ramble 😂 coincidentally, I'm a writer too! Btw have you written anything yet? If so, I'd gladly be your fan :D
