46: Jesus Judges Hypocrisy (Matthew 23:13-26)
We live in a culture that often quotes ‘build-a-bear Jesus’, the version they like - the version that only loves and never judges - the contemporary version greatly distorting the authentic Jesus found in the Scriptures.‌ “Jesus never judges”? Today we continue to study Matthew chapter 23 and see if this claim is legit.

      If you turn from sin and turn to Jesus, then... "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV) That's fine linen indeed!

    You lost me when you mentioned CHRISTMAS and you saying that the son of God came down from HEAVEN 1. Christmas has nothing to do with our lord Jesus Christ 2. the son of God never came down from Heaven he was born of a woman from the tribe of Judah as for Christmas no one knows when Jesus birthday was

    • @SquatWatts
      @SquatWatts Рік тому

      Hi and welcome! Thanks for your response and concerns. I never made a claim that we know Jesus' birthday, although it is certainly not wrong to celebrate His birth, life, death, resurrection, and return. Christmas has everything to do with Jesus, because that's a time that people like me celebrate His birth, not a pagan holiday. As far as God coming down from heaven, this is exactly what the Scriptures claim about Jesus. He is God (the Son) who was implanted into Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35). John 1:1 says the Word (Jesus) is GOD. Philippians 2:6-11 tells us that Jesus was "in very nature God" yet became a human (this is what I mean by "stepped out of heaven"). "Every tongue" will "acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord." (NIV) Further, Jesus also prays this: "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." (John 17:5 NIV) So, Jesus is God (the Son) who stepped out of heaven and came to earth to live as a human. I hope this helps give clarity. I would be more than willing to talk with you over the phone/video chat if you like. Blessings!

      @@SquatWatts Brother God is not a man that he may lie God the father never died nore was he born he is a perpetual spirit of spirits without beginning or end. You are right the holy spirit did over shadow Mary and that holy thing as Gabriel the angel said would be born which is Jesus Christ the body the flesh the sacrifice God gave to the world to redeem human kind.for God so loved the world that he gave his only son the chosen anointed one who above all the almighty God dwelleth fully.So the body Christ our redeemer he died and rose again not the Father the Father rose the son back to life .Remember Jesus said i do nothing on my own its the Father in me he do the works and yes Jesus is GOD because through inheritance HIS Father gave him his name also has given all power onto the son not saying that he is without power because THE SON IS IN HIM AS HE IS IN THE SON FULLY. As for Christmas i suggest you read Jeremiah 10:2-4 it is against the will of God to celebrate a heathen day just because it saids onto us this day a child is born thats all it is he was born on a day. many can read the bible but have no revelation reading without understanding .seek the truth and it will set you free brother. GOD BLESS YOU

      @@luvmymusic4336 Hope you're having a great day! Let me clarify my position. I have never said that Jesus is the Father. Jesus is the Son, fully GOD. He is not God because, as you state, "because through inheritance HIS Father gave him his name..." This is what the Scriptures declare: Jesus had no beginning or ending. He is called the Alpha & Omega (Rev 22:13) as is the Father (Rev 1:8). Jesus is called GOD (John 1:1), and there is only ONE legitimate GOD and SAVIOR (see Is. 43:10-11). Clearly Jesus is referred to as our SAVIOR on multiple occasions (Jn 4:42, Acts 13:23, Eph 5:23, Phil 3:20, Titus 2:13). Further, Jesus was killed for His claim, that He was equal with the Father. For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. (John 5:18 NIV) Jesus called Himself the "I AM", for which the Jews prepared to stone Him, for blasphemy (claiming to be God from Exodus 3:14): “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM!” At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. (John 8:58-59 NIV) Later it became clear that this is why - for blasphemy - they were preparing to kill Jesus. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” (John 10:29-33 NIV) When Jesus rises from the dead, just look at how Thomas responds to Jesus and how Jesus responds to Thomas. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:27-29 NIV) What did Thomas believe? He believed Jesus was ALIVE and that He was his LORD and GOD. How did Jesus respond? Did he tell Thomas, "Wait a second, I never claimed to be God." Nope. He affirmed the statement of Thomas and encouraged all coming after Thomas to believe the same thing, that Jesus is "My Lord and my God". As for the passage in Jeremiah 10, this passage is often used to refute Christmas trees, yet there was no such thing as "Christmas" at this point as Christ had not come. Further, the tree that is cut down in this passage is carved by a craftsman into an idol - an image to which people will bow down. These idols cannot speak and cannot walk (v.5) although they are made into some sort of human/animal image that looks like it could speak or walk. Obviously, this is not a pre-Christmas version of a Christmas tree, but an idol of a false god. If I bow down to a carved image to worship it, this is idolatrous. Christmas, celebrating the birth of King Jesus, is not. As I mentioned before, we can certainly have a video chat or phone call (not for others to see/hear - unless you want that). It is much easier to clarify our positions and communicate with kindness (which you have done well on this chat) hearing one another's voices. Interested in doing that? Thanks so much for your response & concerns. Blessings!

    Sexual Intercourse is the vehicle by which two flesh become one. When a virgin girl has sex with a man she becomes "known" by that man. She is now "one flesh" with this man. Society should recognize said couple as married ---- the failure to recognize them married is not God's fault.
