What to do with noisy upstairs neighbors? V009
#noisyneighbors #knox #kelowna
The last few weeks I felt sluggish and tired, so a little hike on my day off was very much needed. My upstairs neighbors are terribly loud and have been waking me up at 5am every day, adding to my tiredness. At least I can escape to nature!

I've been dealing with partying young adults for a minute now. It seems the people that they house next door always seem to be that type of personality type. I have had a situation at 2 am where they had friends over and were really loud. I tried to go over and got an ear full. She definitely was drunk. Now, I am having the same issue with a new group of females.

Can anybody give advise on how to deal with the mental health aspect of having a noisy neighbor upstairs? I’m struggling with the stomping, music, and dropping objects on the floor at late AM hours. I spoke to the neighbor and he didn’t care about my complaint, super says call management, and management doesn’t do anything. Thanks!

3:56 I have lived in a few countries and from my experience, all buildings are crappy, it does not matter where they are located. After I completed 1 year of living in my current building, 2-3 weeks later, a couple with 2 small children moved upstairs. If there is hell, it is when your neighbours have children!

Im a larger dude i don’t stomp or bang around. When walking at all I’m quiet. It could be smaller dudes dragging feet, they just walk heavy. It’s really annoying i can relate. My upstairs neighbours are loud annoying. Now with banging etc. They now run the water constantly. On off on off never ending. Lous hissing from pipes. Nobody does anything.

It's funny that there are no laws requirements for noise proofing apartments, I looked into it and is not a massive makeover, but it should be done during the building process and not after people move into the units. You can basically raise the floors and separate them to decrease the impact noise, and you can also insert vinyl plates to decrease the airborne noise. That should be mandatory in floors and walls, it would literally make apartments completely soundproof from music loud talking and even big impacts like a bass or jumping walking etc. It's not 100% soundproof, but enough to give people the proper peace of mind, if you have normal people living in the units like, you are just your average loud tenants, it would not leak any noise, but if you have animals like your upstairs neighbors it would leak a little noise since they are extra loud, but still liveable. The building I'm living in atm have a concrete foundation separating me and the downstairs neighbor (Which is pretty loud tbh), but I can deal with it since most of the airborne noise drowns out before coming into my place, also windows makes a huge difference, good 100% sealed windows can block out a lot of noise.

Landlords are filthy hypocrites. Critical tenants cost money. In principle, no sound should come through.. 0.0 In the past, soft floor coverings were mandatory. All laminate and hard floors create noise. Should be banned worldwide in apartments, flats, upstairs houses. 90 percent of apartments are noisy and cause nervous breakdowns in people. Serious health problems. That in turn causes aggression, unemployment and healthcare costs. etc. good housing is important. National authorities require homes to be properly insulated.

Logitech brand. Hook it up to a laptop( so it can all be next to your bed) while youre going to bed or hey even during all hours of the day blast white noise type 10 hour tracks on youtube. This one is perfect "10 hour fan white noise for deep sleep. Drown out noise pollution and noisy neighbors" It took me a while to find the perfect track but this one rlly is great. Blast it brother , i highly recommend it. Use earplugs while you sleep tho, so you cant hear the noise from the speakers so harshly. Tbe soundwaves block out the steps above

Everything you said with your upstairs neighbors is my same issue. Management has spoken to them and they just don't care. They walk so hard popcorn paint falls from my ceiling. They have wood floors and they move and roll furniture all day and all night. They are so loud I've recorded them and it picks up on my phone. You can feel the vibrations on the floor from how hard they walk. It's so bad that from lack of sleep, my BP has gone up, I get to work so tired I'm not productive, and I know they have never lost any sleep over me keeping them up. Finally the office agreed I could give a 60 day to break my lease, and I'm looking at homes to buy now and haven't found anything. I think I'm just going to rent a house because I can't take it anymore.

What country or city do you live in? There are certain laws that allow you to press charges towards the people upstairs. That can really help you. Document every noise they are making. I have had the same issue in regard to recording the ceiling and the video not recording the audio properly; the noise is more quiet in video in comparison to real life. Although there should be a specific top corner in your home where when you record, you can hear everything. It depends on how you angle your phone and where you record in your home; preferably angling your phone so that the "speaker" of your phone is facing up. Also, if you are experiencing negative physical and/or mental symptoms, please go to a doctor or therapist and have them give you a document of your symptoms in regards to the noise. Hope this helps. Take care.
