    Yup, Games now take a longer time to develop and release because long development makes the game perform well. Gaming in 2030 is going to be filled with Games that had been developed for years to release in that year.

      True, but my question, and there no wrong answers, 5 years before GTA 5 got released it had 4 games releasing under the Rockstar name, Do you think this got an audience ready to jump onto GTA 5 and do you think GTA 6 is going to have the same impact, or do you think it's going to be slightly different compared to previous? -------- TM Social - Seb

      @@JumpInsideGames Black Ops 6 is possibly the first COD to have a 4 year development which is something since COD games need more time and years to develop. Gears 6 is taking the longest development time which is good because they're putting a lot of effort into it.

    For those who played Lara for years and are fluent in the way she moves, it's strange to watch your first step and see that even orientating yourself in the direction of the platform isn't intuitive. This gameplay had a huge learning curve, that I tend to forget since I learned to play it more than twenty years ago. I don't want to sound like a boomer, but our model of consumption had completely changed. What is outdated is not the gameplay itself, just the idea of accepting that we need time to master it, and not expect to finish it as soon as we started, and deliver a full game review three levels after the beginning.

    • @JumpInsideGames
      @JumpInsideGames 8 днів тому

      Our channel is based on delivering the first few hours of the game, not the entire game. Also for the game itself, it may be slightly hard to get used to at first, trying to set my mindset in these controls, and I will mention, it's not only Lara croft that has controller changes over the years, other games do this as well, but after a while, they do become easier as you get used to them. What games is your favourite in the Lara Croft Series? TM Social - Seb

    Tomb Raider: Legend was the game that got me hooked on the franchise, and as such it will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. I've always had a mad respect for the Classics however, as without them, we wouldn't even have LAU Lara Croft. I always wanted to play them, but since I had no way of playing them, I couldn't. So, when the Remasters came out, it was a MAJOR blessing for me! With that said, I do still love Legend. Easily. But as of right now, the og is just better. The tank controls are a little difficult to get used to, but the game it literally built for them. And Lara is so hard to control in combat with the modern controls, resulting in so much loss of health or even straight up deaths when I play (with that said, I've give them another shot if they'd make it where she can do all the side flips without weapons drawn and maybe the acrobatic flips and moving backwards while shooting mechanic that the LAU trilogy has). I love the explorative nature of the games, rather than the linear path with a few secrets here and there to find. I think overall, Anniversary was decent, but admittedly, it's my least favorite TR game (next to the Rebooted wannabe Lara Croft games). And when you compare it to the original, it was wwaayyy dumbed down. The levels were so much smaller, the color pallet extremely diluted and dull. I'm not a big fan of horror, so I do prefer Anniversary's design of Atlantis, but even those levels weren't nearly as expansive, and to be quite honest, they were more obnoxious with the whole small-platforms but Lara keeps wanting to lock onto targets in the distance instead of the enemies actively attacking her thing. I think overall, the Remasters are definitely the way to go, but that's just my humble opinion 😶‍🌫

    • @JumpInsideGames
      @JumpInsideGames 8 днів тому

      Well Said! I do agree, Legend is just the same, it's what got me, but the way the very first Lara Croft games are made, are really good, if you could rank the ones that you played, what would your ranking be? ------ TM Social - Seb

    Fallout 4, hands down. The story in FO3 is more coherent, I guess, but all Bethesda writing is pretty shallow, even at it's best. These games are beloved because of the exploration, atmosphere, music and absolutely stupid amount of hours spent playing them and dicking around with mods. I know hours spent playing is not a universal metric but it counts for something, right? The hours I have spent in FO4 is orders of magnitude higher than FO3. FO4's writing is a total mess, but it's a fun, ambitious mess with some genuinely interesting ideas and characters. All that said, I still love FO3. I just hate the division in the fanbase so I feel the need to justify why I play FO4 the most. Can we just all agree that New Vegas elitists need to chill TFO and stop ruining Fallout for everyone?

    • @JumpInsideGames
      @JumpInsideGames 21 день тому

      The thing about Fallout 4 and I've spent countless hours in all games, to the point where I get sad when I complete the last and final quest on my list of DLC's, Fallout's all about getting distracted and going off in many different directions, and getting lost, and forget the reason we adventured out in the first place, if Fallout 4 wins one thing overall, it's the feeling of after completing a or a set of missions, you can return home, to the settlement you built, and rest in your city, you can do it in fallout 3, in your house in megaton, but not quite the same impact. Are you a fan of settlement building? -------- TM Social - Seb

      Fallout 4 does something very unique that Fallout 3, and that is settlements, where you can completely craft the heck out of that game, I'm not joking, Fallout 3 for me, might me me feel like it's got that very old end of the world, but Fallout 4 in this instance, I think I spent more time being distracted building ultra mega bases that actually doing the story and missions. Sorry, where was I, apart from graphics, what do you like best in Fallout 4? TM Social - Seb

      I think most Bethesda games are a big messy faulty Madness, but it's done in such a beautiful manner. For real, I play console and it's less buggy, love it, love all the DLC, for me, what's incredible, even though it's old, it still very playable, and the graphics still seem to hold up beautiful. What are your thoughts on the graphics on this game compared to todays games? ---------------- TM Social Seb

    Fallout 4 didn’t have a backstory to fill it in all the way because the main character of fallout 4 is most likely i synth with fake memories. you can find this through dialogue in game. i just don’t think it’s fair to say fallout 3 has a better backstory because the sole survivor doesn’t have a backstory.

    Customise the controls for remaster. I have the action and shoot button set to right trigger. The old controls are very reliable once you get used to them. I'm not a fan of modern controls. TR Anniversary controls are great for combat and moving around until you need to jump and grab onto things - very unreliable. Also, I think you mean *equipping not equipting. It's not a real word. Interesting video nonetheless.

    I'm almost 100 hours in, and just realized I haven't seen any kids in the game. Most of that time has been grinding it out in the practice arena with Bernerd. I tank against 3-5 guys at a time, but anytime they bring a dog to the fight, I'm boned. There's no defense against dogs, and it feels awful having to kick them to death. The lockpicking is way, way, WAY easier with a keyboard and mouse.

      If you have a dog, it will fight the other dog for you. While there is no defense, you can just harm it. They tend to run away. Best way is to not fight them directly. If they are bandits, usualy one goes for drinking water alone. You can also shoot the dog with bow, and then sneak into the camp, stealthkill them or poison the meal, or wine. As for the kids, that is on purpose. there are multiple reasons: 1) the kid NPC would serve no purpose, but would need huge amount of computational power, places to sleep, small clothes... 2) killing the kids would bring bad PR, making them immortal would ruin the game

    The modern controls do feel nice to use at times, but they do come with a few limitations, such as somersaults and backflips requiring you to have a weapon drawn when you start the manoeuvre, also grabbing ledges below you is far more difficult than before as either need to roll from a specific distance as backing away with modern controls requires a gun to be drawn but putting your guns away to grab the ledge takes too much time for her to actually grab it most of the time.

      I can see where your going with that, very true, I like the fact they got the modern controls in, when I first picked up the game, I found it hard to navigate, and it was difficult to navigate around Lara's Mansion, after a while, I got used to using it, I think in some areas of the game, the modern controls can speed things up, but as you say, there are limitations. I agree with your recommendation. Anniversary first, then remaster, then original. I'm usually one to endorse the original, uber alles. But Tomb Raider is an exception where I do think it has aged poorly, mostly because the awkward controls and platforming just make for needless frustration. Remaster lets you have the original levels without that frustration, plus a lot easier on the eyes.

    • @JumpInsideGames
      @JumpInsideGames 2 місяці тому

      I think Anniversary for my favourite part that I like, is the combat, it makes it a lot more clear to see what I shooting at, the original and remaster seems to take a lot more exploration as such, you spend more time looking around levels, your going to find more stuff, Anniversary even though the exploration is a little bit less, there more drama, in places, I think for my take, these games are very different, I can't say one is better, because even though they focus on the story, these are 2 very different gameplay styles, and both have strengths ands weaknesses. Anniversary and Legend, is where I came into this series properly, I played the others before but only a little but, but these we're the games that got me into this, and like anyone first, it has a place in my heart! I'm honestly quite impressed they managed to improve the game's visuals to the extent that they did in Remastered, given it's still the original 1996 game engine and levels. While still bottlenecked by that limitation, it is night and day compared to the original. (Although you seem to be playing the original with Bilinear filtering off. It does look a little better with that on, as it removes pixelation.)

      When recording, I use a 2 PC setup, this is so we are outputting as high quality as possible when watching content we create, it does mean, that the file size for this type video is 15gb, that's actually quite low for me, and when processing just over a gb, but it means when UA-cam is kind and puts by video codecs as VP09, your seeing everything as clean as possible. that being said, I am not aware of bilinear filtering. _ TM Social Team - Seb

    Solid Review. I enjoyed the game very much myself and have finished it 3 times so far (2 Edward, 1 Emily), and the story, characters, setting and creepy atmosphere are so engaging. The 1920s/30s Gothic noir rural American south is this game's biggest attraction. Since there aren't many games with this setting. Despite it's glaring flaws, I still see this latest Alone in the Dark a successful and much needed revival to this badly mismanaged series of 30+ years. It will gain an audience in due time and serve as an ideal ENTRY point for newcomers to the series going forward.

      @@JumpInsideGames The marketing and promotion for this game is indeed quite aggressive and I hope it really pays off big time. A sales tally of 1-2 million would be considered a success for most AA games. A fairly similar game called The Sinking City (though with a more open world-ish setting) is getting a sequel (coming in 2025) despite getting review scores in 2019 so similar to what Alone in the Dark 2024 got now. So I don't see how a follow up game isn't possible for AITD 2024, since it already laid a solid enough foundation in reviving the series forward.

      @@mr.sinjin-smyth Yes It is quite aggressive, I've never actually played the The Sinking City, is it good? Sequel are a good thing, but the one thing game company have to consider is how long should be left before the sequel comes out, for example dragon age: origins came out in 2009 where as dragon age 2 came out in 2011, only a 2 year gab, Where as Inquisition came out in 2024, seems like a long time at the time, but that's only a 3 year gap, it's been 10 years since we've seen a game like that, does the longer wait put people off game, games are getting bigger and more graphics, and the question is, is it taking longer for games to come out, and is that a bad thing? _ TM Social Team - Seb

      @@JumpInsideGames Yes, The Sinking City has a similar 1920s/30s Gothic American noir vibe like AITD 2024, but in a more open world-ish setting. You play as a detective solving several cases with janky gunplay & melee combat and all. It's also very detective driven, meaning you to have search and locate the precise address thru clues and map, investigate crime scenes, and piece together clues to complete a case. The game is far lengthier than Alone in the Dark due to it's bigger world setting and multiple cases to solve. The upcoming sequel is said to be more horror driven with a smaller world setting. Personally, the ideal wait between big budgeted follow up / sequel games should be 3-5 years. 10+ years is just too long and most would rather play games that are of lower quality, but with passion put into them, than waste many years waiting for bloated AAA games that often play more like movies than actual games.
