Very interesting demo. The tone master sounds very good. How do you plug the amp output ? Xlr into audio interface (which one?) ? Preamp or line?
Thanks for the video. Could you feel a difference in the pick attack when distorted?
Not at all, do you use the MS-3?
@audivi_vortex No, I'm considering it, though. Had Line 6 M5 and M13. I felt they both colored my amps hi gain tone, and mushed out my pick attack a little bit. I tried every cable method, but I still wasn't really happy with my tone. Clean was great, hi gain, not so much.
@@stavrosescobar1624 I’d recommend it, I don’t notice any significant coloration
Chingao !! Hagan su tarea antes de cagarla!!😂😂😂

Very ethereal ❤
The Oxford speaker sim is nothing like the creamback IR on the Tonemaster. I think they could be dialed in very similar through the same IR
I Totally agree, although, I was ‘t trying to make them sound the same, I dialed a tone that I liked on each device and see the difference. Maybe I’ll make a video playing both through the same IR. Thanks
I took my Tone Master Deluxe to a jam, where I was playing pedal steel. Afterward, two guys who actually own vintage blackface Deluxes asked me if it was an original or a reissue. They had no idea it was digital. At another gig, someone picked it up to move it and went “Oh!” at how light it is. It holds its own in an A/B with my 1977 Mesa Mark I (keeping in mind they are different amps), weighs a third as much, and has an excellent XLR out. I love this amp!
I agree, i could not tell the difference in a blind test with a tone master and a reissue
Thanks for this. Think i will grab a tone master and sell my dream 65. TM sounds more real amp like here. And of course it’s more versatile, can be used the old fashioned way - which it sounds spectacular!
Thanks for watching, I also like the TM better!
This is gonna sound weird but try putting the treble and bass at around just over 3 o’clock on the Dream and that’ll get them to sound similar. They put too much treble in the Dream in the middle position
That picture for the Dream 65’ is just a stock picture not the actual settings I used, I apologize for the confusion. But you’re right though
oh interesting! just out of curiosity, what settings and cab model did you use?@@audivi_vortex
@@blueveinriver3253 I don't remember the exact settings but I used the Oxford speaker and the stock setting for the amp, I remember having the bass very low and the treble at around half way.
I have Dream 65 and the tones can be varied dramatically by experimenting with the boost settings and even more by changing the IR. I don’t own a tonemaster.
The Dream 65 is awesome
Dream doesn't use IRs, nor can it load them. Different tech
@@BadMofoMusicCritic Dream has 6 different IRs, Tone Master has 2, you can't load your own IRs in either one.
@@audivi_vortex they aren’t IRs in the dream afaik. They are end to end models. You can select from 6 cab/mic models.
Yes, that's what I mean, you get 6 different cabs with the dream and 2 with the TM@@BadMofoMusicCritic
Think the sound is brighter in front of the amp except with the distortion!!
Tone master sounds much better. I have a Tone Master Deluxe & an Iridium and the Tone Master sounds better than the Iridium as well IMO.
I’m curious about the iridium
I liked the sounds of the amp way more than the pedal’s. Great video! 🙌🏽
Vavavava Thank you sir!

Cool video. I like the graphics. What program did you use for this?
Thank you, I used a filter on iMovie
The “tone suck”/volume is probably so more to the added cable length according to some of the guitar channels I’ve seen seem like proper buffering will fix that
The MS-3 has an input buffer, idk if it makes any difference, thanks for watching
Yeah man! Diggin it! Best Regards and Best Wishes for 2023!
Thank you so much! Best wishes for you too 🍻
tune up!
Thanks for watching!
...Ever-so-slight volume difference(...4-cable "slightly" lower...)...Easily compensated-for...Peace...
I agree! Thank you
Keep it up, bro! Nice comparison.
Thank you!!!
I have a ms-3 and I think something is lost when using the unit. It depends on what amp you are using ofc. I have a plexi style amp that has a lot of dynamics when using a cable direct. By including the ms3 that goes away. Either in front or 4cable. Other amps I have does not give the same loss, might be that they are less dynamic in the first place. I think that it would have been more obvious difference if you tested without as well. 👍 Have a good day!
Thanks for your comment! I didn’t think about comparing it to plugging the guitar straight into the amp, that’s a great idea. And yes, I guess every amp react differently and the all have different fx loops.
There is definitely a difference. The lower strings are audibly less bright and lose their harmonics. If that is what "tone suck" means to you, that's what you're hearing. You could also call it "warmer" through the front end. I wouldn't say the 4CM is "better," but it does let more of the string tone through, which is my preference. I want cleans to be sparkling. I don't know but I expect it gives an overdrive pedal, especially the "transparent" kind, a lot more to work with. For fuzz and distortion, I didn't hear any difference. Through the front end may even sound better to some, I'd want 4CM. You can always take those harmonics out later if you don't want them, but you can't put them back.
Thanks for your input, you have a very good ear, thanks for watching.
It all sounded the same to me… Thanks for your videos, keep ‘em coming!
Thank you!! I appreciate it 🤘🏽
