    Hello, I am possibly buying a 1978 airstream to park in my driveway and convert into a hair salon for myself. The biggest question I have before I make the purchase is how to go about connecting plumbing and electrical from my home to the airstream. Do I just need a 30amp rv outlet installed outside and run plumbing directly to a shampoo bowl under the trailer?

    • @DadPerfectDesigns
      @DadPerfectDesigns Місяць тому

      The trailer should have it own disconnect for power and plumbing, Meaning you plumb and wire the trailer with its own electric and has a RV style plug on the exterior side, and the plumbing to should be run as well with a Hose style fitting on the exterior. 30 amp would be the minimum, but yes you have a cord that plugs in to the exterior of the trailer like an electric vehicle as well as a Hose that that will supply water to a plumbing system on the trailer. I have a hot and cold water hose that supplies the water to the trailer, using my homes hot water heater, but you can get smaller RV style water heater that stays with the trailer. I just didn't want to run Propane and conveniently had a hot water tap to avoid that. Reach out with anymore questions and good luck!

      Hi there, I completely understand the challenges with rent. Regarding your question about the generator, yes, you can certainly get one that can power everything. You'll need a generator that can handle sufficient amperage for your needs. If you'd like further assistance, feel free to send me your email, and I'd be happy to provide a consultation outside of UA-cam. Additionally, depending on your location, I’m a licensed General Contractor and can assist with any related work as well. Looking forward to helping you!

    I want to do this for my wife but live in ohio and am concerned about freezing winters. How does it work out in winter months?

    • @DadPerfectDesigns
      @DadPerfectDesigns Місяць тому

      Living in Southern California, we don’t have to worry about freezing temperatures, but for you, the main concern during the colder months will be your water line feeding the trailer. If you properly insulate the lines and use the water daily, the warmth from the interior should help prevent the internal pipes from freezing. When we RV in winter to places like Ohio, I’ve noticed that some resorts have heaters on the city water lines. However, I also recommend turning the water on to a very slow drip at night, which keeps the water moving and helps prevent freezing. It’s a small water consumption, and far better than having to pay for replacing all your water lines. I hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Current travels on the outside of a conductor and when you “haircut” it, you’re limiting the rating on the conductors ampacity. Being an electrician and this being a corded saw with a decent amount of amps, you’ve could’ve just crimped an extra conductor between them and not created an environment for hot spots or arcing.

    • @iampuzzleman282
      @iampuzzleman282 8 місяців тому

      They like to run it 24 hours a day because they want their pool extra warm I guess with the heat exchanger. Is this a lot and it's especially noisier on cool nights.

    • @moniphil
      @moniphil 8 місяців тому

      @@iampuzzleman282 If the system runs continuously, the media and filtered particles will cause excessive pressure inside the filter and will cause pool circulation issues. • @iampuzzleman282
      @iampuzzleman282 8 місяців тому

      @@moniphil maybe it's the heat exchanger although I think that's related to the filter being run too. For my location it's 8 o'clock at night and decibel level is 50 at the property line. But there is the noise of the pump which is a frequency sound that seems to penetrate the walls and may not exceed 50 dB however their overall system may. I recently found out they put their pool fence 8 inches inside my property so maybe I can get them to move their fence if they don't quiet things down.

    • @moniphil
      @moniphil 8 місяців тому

      @@iampuzzleman282 You could allow them to move it or, because it’s on your property, you have the right to tear it down or do whatever you want with it. If they have pool and you don’t, if you tore it down, then they’d have to build another fence. (However, because you watched this video, I suspect you also have a pool and need a fence to not violate code.) If it really is 8” onto your property, they have no right to it other than what you give them. If they’re really rude about it, you could tear it down then sell the materials back to them. I assume you’ve tried reasoning with them to no avail. Good sleep is very, very important to our health. Maybe you could try a white noise machine or app first.

      There is a build up in the tanks that I need to do a deep clean on bi-annually, but as for the sinks or my drain I dump the tanks? There is no problems at all. I would suggest a screen for the shampoo bowl drain, the amount of hair that builds up from going down the drain isn't a lot each time, but that builds up over time and does create blockages. there are a couple, all natural enzymes that help break it down, but getting a screen on the sink with eliminate any need for chemicals. Hope this helped.

    So how did you manage to shave the 20 pounds of difference In weight off of the 779 to the 780 to make the conversion complete? Also we need to add a handle. Change the miter Detent plates out switch over the the 780s dust collection system I think a much more appropriate title would have been “Adding a shadow line to my 779” Because that’s what you did lol.

    • @DadPerfectDesigns
      @DadPerfectDesigns Рік тому

      Thank you for watching and I hope you subscribed. 😂 You obviously watched the video because it sparked your interest. The weight difference from the 780 is mostly because of them adding a few more stops for miter cuts on the back and using a metal handle for the bevel adjustment instead of plastic. Not to mention the obvious, the XPS system. Besides the added stop adjustment, the saw is exactly the same. And as for the title, I will not change it because I did convert the saw. If you don’t believe adding the XPS is a complete conversion then that’s your opinion. But people are most likely buying the 780 because of the light, not because of the stops, which by the way I can buy those for a fraction of the price and add those as well, because all of the machine is in place to add them(it’s the same base) but I don’t need those so I opted out of that. Don’t believe me? Look up the difference between the two. Lots of videos that agree with everything I just mentioned. Anyways. Have an amazing day and keep watching!

Cutting near half the strands will not only effect the voltage but those strands cut short will arc… and I mean arc, get hot and could very well start what those men in the big red trucks call a fire! However, if you have money to throw out the window and could care less about your tool, let alone new tool? Be a tool and test some shyt up! 🤦‍♂️ OR just use the correct connectors and correct crimped. 🤷‍♂️ Wise man “once” said “watch this!” (Shakes head)

So either the saw puts out more then enough power to negate your theory or like I said in the video, power is power. Your going to get the same voltage no matter how many strands there are. Don’t believe, cut the end off your computer wire, strip out all but one strand, plug it in and touch and then tell me if there is a drop in voltage or amps. Do that, video it and I’ll eat my hat sir. Till then stay tuned because I have way sketcher stuff coming that will make you question your existence on this planet. Oh and thanks for watching. 🎉

    Now the light kit is $100 plus $15 for shipping! You also only get a 32 tooth blade with the 779 and you get a 60 tooth fine finish blade with the 780 that is actually useable for finish work for a while. So add $165 just to get the light and the blade that comes with the 780. This is not even considering the other features that the 779 has gotten rid of. It does not have the extra bevel stops anymore either. I found the 780 on sale for $520 right after I bought the 779 for $449 with a free stand I did not even really want. It was a no brainer the 779 is going back to Lowe's. Oh yeah, modifying the 779 will void the warranty as well, though warranties are often worthless anyway.

      @@petergiannakos3741 Don't order from JB tools. They are selling used and beat up items and claiming their new. My saw did come but it was clearly refurbished or used. Box had holes all over it. The miter handle had three big chunks out of it. Machine had scratches and scuffs all over it. It even had an old used part in the box from some other machine 🤦. I'm usually so good at recognizing these things. I can't believe I fell for it. Somehow I guess I saw their reviews and they were all good of course. You go to Google reviews and you'll find out the truth.

      @@christcrucified6385 thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of going that route and buying one from them. I’ll stick with the 779 in that case.

    I think it's worth voiding the warranty only thing, a year later, they've caught on its now $93+ for 3 parts to the kit, then shipping for $15 and then tax which takes you over the top $111+ so right now, considering getting the kit for $150 plus the DWS779 - which by the way is on a Black Friday Sale where you get it for $399 and they throw in a DWX724 for free but rounded up - $550 compared to buying the DWS780 for $650. Or maybe that $100 is worth spending. Thanks for sharing!

      Are you talking about the kit from m and m tools or some place else? I was going to purchase it from m and m but there are tons of recent reviews with complaints about how the site is now fraudulent and people’s credit card info is being compromised. Would love to find the kit somewhere else

      You can get the 780 at JB Tools right now for $520. It is a MUCH better deal unless you need the free stand. The 799 comes with a 32 tooth blade that is worthless for finishing work. The 780 has a decent 60 tooth finishing blade. The 779 also has no extra bevel stops, no full depth space lock, no light, plastic bevel wheel instead of metal, etc. There is no machining on the 779 to allow adding the parts aftermarket either. The only thing you can really add is the light and now with shipping it is over $100. Just to upgrade a 779 to get a light and a decent blade with cost at least $160.

      @@christcrucified6385 thanks for the vendor info. Im still on the fence. I got the 779 for $250 after returning the “free” stand. I’ve also seen a hack where I can put a usb led light on for the shadow light for around $20. That plus a fine tooth Diablo blade, I’m about $330 all in. So about $200 in savings, but that obviously doesn’t make up for the other features that come standard on the 780.

      @@petergiannakos3741 That is a good deal. I didn't know you could take the stand back and get money for it. I might have went that route also. I don't think I'd miss any of these other features. The saw will cut a board standing up at 7 and 1/4 in. I don't see needing the extra bevel stops when I can miter just about everything. If I knew I could return the stand I probably would have just done that and bought the light kit.

    Niceee, where does it get the power or electricity from? Do you have solar energy?

    • @DadPerfectDesigns
      @DadPerfectDesigns 2 роки тому

      No. I have a 30 amp outlet on our drive way and there is an extension cord that connects it. The amount of solar I would need to power AC and blow dryers is too large to fit on the trailer. If we did need to move the trailer to a client, a generator can be mounted to the front that we can then plug into.

    Master craft is Canadian. The store “Canadian Tire” is a big box store that specializes in tools, auto supplies, camping/hunting and sporting goods. The company Mastercraft is sold through Canadian tire and generally has rediculously good warranties. If you buy a mastercraft wrench, its guaranteed for life. No receipt, just bring in a broken mastercraft wrench or screw driver and get an off the shelf replacement… Not the top of the line but good for life to be the same 😂
