@FrankZanattaRE I will be looking into job opportunities and trying to learn about what areas are better avoided and go from there I suppose. My family and I are interested in relocating to thunder Bay if possible

That's a loaded question as it depends on what part of the city you want to live in. What is more important is that you are unable to purchase a house unless you are a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.
