I hated the book when I first read it ( unlikeable characters) and absolutely loved the series. The actors did a good job making unlikeable characters likeable and believable. I went back to the text and found beautiful excerpts - it’s not perfect (it’s her first book) but the series made it come alive for me. Each character is played perfectly and Oliver is a star. I had never noticed Alwyn in films before (and did not know who Swift was - don’t listen to pop radio) and after seeing his nuanced performance I went back and watched his films - he’s a really good character actor. Intelligent performances. I also think he’d be good at comedy. Well done to Lenny Abrahamson and co.

You can see why Ang Lee chose him for "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk". He is a superb actor. Apparenty they intend to "reinvent" James Bond for the next film. There could be no better reinvention than Joe. He would bring his unique style and charisma.
