@@mike-myke22 Thanks for watching.

I live by the shipyards was 14 when they came to do the ferry landing scene his wife sat in the rolls Royce And gave us sweets
That's really cool. What a memory.
Very interesting again Rob. Nice to see some of the old features still retained.
Thanks mate.
"I'll catch up with you later, Margaret."
Nice 😊
Hitman 1972 is a black get carter. Dvd.
It's a VW Bug
Yes it is. See my previous shorts on the process to this point.
You notice how loud and awful all the cars are everywhere.
That is very true.
I will have to go and watch the film again as i can't remember most of these even though i watched get carter many years ago..the car park scene i do remember....
Sorry Rob. The Long Bar is long gone! It was around 100 yards to the right of the Victoria. And the place where Michael Caine tapped on the window is wrong too. You showed us a newer place on Pink Lane. The scene was shot just around the corner on the windows of Bowers which was a coffee bar back then.
Thanks for the info.
We used to take a running jump down dog leap stairs to see who got down with the least strides. An old tradition. The now gone long bar was one of my locals Saturday nights. The gateshead car park had a luxury flat on the roof. Just one but it was huge as I remember. I know all the locations like the back of my hand and slept at some of them after a night on the tiles. (Getting drunk)
Great insight into the get carter locations in newcastle. It is a classic movie set in north east england.
Thank you. Its my all time favourite film.
I used to live in hailsham late 90s still looks the same kinda
The town is pretty much the same apart from the new Tesco, its the outskirts that are changing with many fields being lost to housing.
@@robgraham9947 thanks for the comment many stores I remember are obviously not there anymore. Like the old pawn buy and sell across from the farmers market. I hope to visit one day and see if any of my old friends are still around.
When Carter throws Cliff Brumby off the car park that's me and my mates playing football in the background. Not a lot of people know that. 😁
Excellent, how cool is that.
Cliff was only supposed to blow the bloody doors off.........not dent the roof and bonnet.......🤩
'PromoSM' 😴
You don't have to watch it mate.
Top job rob. Looking good.
Thanks mate.
The High Level Bridge where Carter meets Margaret has now a controlled bus lane running through it.
I was actually up in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and walked up there. They've got some works going on there at the moment.
Cliff Brumbey's house was demolished in 2007, and the Get Carter Car Park was demolished in 2010-2011
I was lucky enough to visit the car park in 2010 just before they started the demolition. It was already boarded off but I'm glad I got to see it. We also went to the site of Brumbeys house too, though nothing to see sadly.
I'm sure someone was selling bits of the car park as mementos of the film.
The toilet scene with thorpie was filmed at Newcastle Airport as the toilets in The Oxford were deemed too small for the shoot.
Left Hailsham in 1974... Memories came flooding back..
Moved here four months ago. It’s an absolute shithole. What a huge mistake Ive made. It’s like the walking dead most days on the street. Can’t wait to leave.
Thanks for the video Rob. I thought about going, but was too late for camping tickets.
We only went for the day as camping tickets had sold out too when we decided what we were doing. Still a great show to go to even just for the day.
Just for your information .. the Victoria Comet is not the pub he walked into when he left the station and not the pub featured in the movie. He walked to the right of this pub and went into the North Eastern Bar (locally called the long bar) on the ground floor of the old Douglas Hotel. The building is gone now but It is basically where the Hilton is now. The Victoria Comet have been falsely claiming for years that they were the bar to increase foot fall and tourism ...
Thank you for that. I also found that out after I uploaded the video. Thanks for the info.👍
Bazz is right about the location of the Long bar, BUT, the Victoria and comet was used in the movie twice!! Deane Wilde sung how about you in here then had a scrap with Tina Star (Real scrap she told me herself) Also Franks wake was held in here, Dorreen throws a drink over Franks m8....I also spoke to Petra Markham about her time in Newcastle. I done a similar locations tour in 2001, thanks for the video @@robgraham9947
So many of the locations no longer exist, not as they were. Which admittedly is not such a bad thing.
the oxford dance hall use to go there years ago. the original aluminate metal oxford sign was removed and left on the flat roof at the side of the oxford building, I know because I worked on the construction of the centre hotel on the right in 1974 and thought would love to own that sign, when you see jack at the pub in the beginning of the movie the fellow with the cap at the bar who is an extra when he lifts his pint for a drink has 6 fingers
Thanks for your comment. Very interesting. Such a great film but it was years before I noticed the guy with the extra finger.
Great video used to work in Station rd one estate years ago used to cycle the cuckoo trail too ...been living up north for nearly 20 yes now, nice stroll down memory lane...cheers
Thank you, appreciate it.
Interesting video Rob. It's a shame it's been allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair.
Yes, sad seeing these places in such a poor state. We have a fine mill here in Robertsbridge... again, vandalised and awaiting some sort of development. These structures should be repurposed. Thanks for the vid, Rob.
Sounds like i need to go and film that then Rupert.
where is this
I'm sorry I'm not going to give away the location for obvious reasons.
Really interesting stuff Rob - Enjoyed that!
Thanks mate.
