PINTER'S THE BIRTHDAY PARTY Part 3 of 4
The language though, love every bit of it!!
Maybe he joined the freemason's and new to much!?
Lou lou Julie Walters?
Any literature student here 😂........?
Harold Pinter was always ruthless about women.
What did I just watch? The mother seemed to be suffering from some kind of brain damage, it was like Oblivion NPCs performing a play! I assume his other stuff must be better since he won a nobel prize.
Stan's teeth too good
Sounds like " introductory English language lessons for french people ".
KHATIA
KHATIA !!!
like watching corrie on acid
I'm glad he prioritised his writing over his acting.
The first 6-7 minutes are absolutely mesmerizing. I love how mundane it is, it's almost surreal.
Waste of valuable time
Who is Monty?
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH
Yet you got to the 4th part.
Yes
robert shaw in another birthday movie,,??
Any G-helpian here?
❤
Yes I am also Ghelpian😂
Yes

My fav play
Stanley flew over the cuckoo’s nest
7:05 convinced he was going to bash her brains in with something
Bang goes the format. Why
Very white...
Thank you for uploading this. Superb
Wow what a great monologue powerful actor
10:07
Pinter himself as Goldberg ! Absolutely outstanding.
at 28:25, the "You betrayed our land." sound like Liam Neeson lol
Do you know the year of this production? I'm guessing mid/late 80s.
Absolutely stellar performance from Pinter here! It's always such a delight to see him pop up in cameos in his own work, but I'm quite blown away by his performance as Goldberg in this version. That charm and yet totally unhinged persona was something that came across quite strongly in the text and I always find it fascinating that writers can inhabit their own characters with such conviction. Pinter really was quite something. 🥲
im pretty sure that Harold Pinter didnt play goldberg just to have Lulu on his lap; definitely not the case.
I don't think Pinter had any need for tactics like that 🙂
@@steeleye2112 absolutely with you, hundred percent! he certainly didn't do it to spank meg as well.
I like how she takes the food to the serving hatch, then walks in the room. She could have taken it to him, instead of him getting up.
Why didn t she bring him his cornflkes?
Stanley wouldn't appreciate their wholesome goodness. As Meg tells him, "they are good.... it says so on the box...." Pinter cracks me up.
Hilarious and menacing. Faulty Towers with wheels on.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Stanley is being treated as the own son of mag although he is just in rent at their house. Weird
Like all my family xmases
worst novel i have ever read in my life totally worthless and a waste of time I just wanna throw up when reading it its sooooo boring I bet the writer had so much extra time and he suddenly decided to write some shitty things I was not supposed to read it but they made us read it as a part of our literature list at university
It was terrible, I like British drama but this was just annoying and surreal, whats it saying, that it was a boring hell to be there? mission accomplished.
You went to university??????
I had to Watch it just bcz of my exams!! English literature student fact
that's right
I don't how people enjoy this one. 😢
Bizzarre tripe
You can really sense Kafka's The Trial in this. Absolutely genius play.
Genius
What did Stanley do to get these chaps so worked up about him ?
This sent me to sleep
Sweet dreams
@@kennydurkin Thank you
i’m in 5th year of high school and we are doing this as a higher drama study
Its better than I had expected.
This are the exact word from the book
Fantastic - excellent, intimate little dramatization with some key close-ups and camera positioning, great cast. My first Pinter play!
Wow ..... where is this jazz club with such a nice stage ??
Dizzy's Club, New York City
