Woody Hayes is somewhere watching this breathing heavily
Those tackles are putting in work. Thats football the way the Good Lord intended.
Played against a single wing team once in high school. Nearly impossible to figure out where the ball is when you don’t see this offense often.
Follow the guards. They take you to the ball. Everyone else play sound gap control and you can beat the wing t.
Would you happen to have the “end of the season video” for the year prior to this?
Wasn’t Malzhan influenced by that offense?
This offense from the 20’s
This is pretty cool. My dad's high school team in the early 60's ran the single wing. I remember watching his highlight films.
5:02
It helps when the opposing teams can't tackle
What happened to the Single Wing offense at NRHS?
That’s some great stuff - LOVE IT!!!!
I need these plays for my flag football team lol
Everyone runs a version of spread, not everyone runs an offense with 2-4 guys who are runners and passers. This would be a great offense to run if you had two or three guys that could do it all run and pass and one guy great at the 3 yards and blocking
How can I find this Playbook? I run single wing with my youth football team but never seen this variation. I love it
Im studying this offense to really learn it in great detail, did i really see on 1 play 4 guys block the same player. Isnt that kind of a wasted man? I understand as a former lineman, you cant always reach your block but it looked drawn up that way just the way everyone stopped on him.
4:55 Priceless.
So what is this exactly?
I coach Dave Cisar youth SW and would love to talk to the coach to look at his system.
Running off-tackle in the mud - GOD, I love this offense!
This offense looks really fun to run. Every play is a misdirection!
This offense is a Great equalizer.
Grade?
I would like to get a playbook from you on this offense ...Thank-you.
The team I play on single wing looks different. Are there different formations in it or something? And this should be in madden I'd run this with the seahawks or eagles.
Angelo Carson Single Wing has several variations like every formation. Shotgun formations are basically single wing formations, with the Quarterback as passer.
#44 is a beast.
In 1951 I played the spinner back at Utley High School in Flint, Michigan. Normally the left half does the passing but coach Keene gave that job to me. Loved the sport. I remember on Fridays the anticipation. I am now eighty years old and still some of my fondest memories was the camaraderie we shared as a team. Believe it or not the quarterback of our team is still referring football games. Not bad for an old duffer I'd say. His name is Tom Royal and I see him each year at our school reunion. Cheer, Cheer for old Utley High, We never stagger we never die, Send the freshmen out for gin, Don't let a sober senior in. That's the first verse of our very unofficial fight song.
do you have any film of when you played?
I've known Carl since he was 3 .From then till now, he has been an outstanding performer in whatever sport he tried. This video is an accurate representation of him. He has always striven to the the best he could and made whatever coach he had smile to watch him., He exudes confidence and a winning attitude - yet never presents himself as prideful or arrogant... A good kid, a good student, a good teammate, and modest about his success. Carl is a winner in the best sense of the word!
played a school back inn highschool doing this offense , so hard to stop , but a key was to read the upback .
What color is new hampshire and what color is mass??
that offense is fantastic to watch but im more impressed by the the downfield blocking. impressive.
You seem to dominate every opponent! Great job.
Great video and great music. I love the single wing coming back into HS football. What is the opening music? I would like to get that.
I love watching single wing football. I hope there will always be a lot of coaches to pass along a great tradition.
Man this guy is a beast!!
Upper peninsula Michigan's Menominee Maroons have been running single wing since the 1960s... Needless to say they have it perfected and are blowing out tough competition ... Heading for another state title hopefully this year!
@jollyroger, this team is from MA. MA and TX don't use NFHS rules, they use NCAA rules; thus the FBZ cut blocking rules don't apply.
read the whole section and it will show that blocking below the waist is only legal when its lineman against lineman and only when the ball is in the free blocking zone, not backs, not downfield. Clipping is a separate issue.
That one kid had to be a basketball player because only a bball player can dribble the pigskin, pick it up, and go 20 something yards with it. I've seen it happen and the back that did it was a bball player.
Not if they are playing National Federation Rules(High School). 2013 rulebook page30 under Free Blocking Zone explains blocking below the waist rules and backs cannot do it unless they are on the line of scrimmage against linemen only (not LB's or DB's)
We run da same offence
my team is doing this offence
love watching it but there were several illegal blocks below the waist in the film. A back can never block below the waist in hs football. Only linemen against lineman.
awesome coaching!!!!
Rafael I think Tim Tebow ran the Spread option at Florida and the regular read option at Denver not the single wing.
Juan Marquez so much of the “spread option” that was run at Florida under Meyer had heavy single wing influence in it though.
Texas over MA 12 - 7 ? Damn that was close. MA can compete.
This is the same offense we run with 11-12 year old kids and won 3 championships in a row!!
Johnny King. Hey Johnny. I want run this offense for my 11-12 team here in Texas. Do you mind sharing some knowledge.
What grade
y does it keep repeating
THIS IS FOOTBALL! Awesome job Coach.
