I was roped into it versus and rising because of the mobile game but I am starting to see the appeal of fgc games. I even found a copy of guilty gear xrd rev 2 at a gamestop and bought it to try it out at a later date.

Thank you for the analysis and tips. I do have some obvious flaws since I get impatient by spamming jumps or button mashing when it's not "my turn". What you don't see are my losses when I get stomped by actual pros 😆 (Currently on a big losing streak).

​@@CronuLL Losing to higher experienced players is normal (and expected). Happens to me too. I like fighting better players cuz they help me see my flaws. Try to think of it like u only wanna press a button for a reason. If we watched one of your replays and i asked u "why did u do that there?", your answer shouldnt just be something like, "idk, because i thought it would hit." Know what i mean? The reversals and jumping stand out cuz thats what i would exploit to beat u. But dont let the loses get u down. The ONLY way u wont improve is if u give up! Also, I have some guides on my channel if u want that sorta thing.

Yeah... It is a "feels bad moment" when the opponent dodges mine xD . *A few edits since I rewatched the video* I'm the Siegfried (understandable why you might think I'm the 2B because I use the opponent's character for my thumbnails) I have a few bad habits of being too aggressive and burn my BP for my opponent to impulse burn theirs (so they receive more damage the lower they have)

Any weapon combination is viable. All that is needed is a little patience and practice/failed attempts. As cheesy as it will be ...You can do it :) I used the Chikage (lost) and the Evelyn pistol so I prioritized bloodtinge and skill for my leveling process any leftover points are thrown into vitality and stamina. I used "generated" chalice dungeons (basic psn subscription is needed but completely optional) to farm for my skill gems so I may have been a bit too "overpowered" for this run. Runes I used were damage mitigation, max hp +10%, health vials +4, and hunter rune (faster stamina recovery)

@@nerolykk it's been awhile since I've played so there may be better armor sets plus I gave up after grinding curio... but I remember prioritizing Offense skills: Attack (4+), agitator(5), handicraft, slugger(shield tackle the head), crit boost, weakness exploit Defensive skills: stun resist (3), defense(4), guard, guard up, divine blessing Fortify skill and gathering spiribirds if you think you will cart on solo hunts Palicos if you need healing, dogs for damage and time saving(mounting)

Sakura slash is fun but the cooldown is pretty long, but there are a few decorations that reduce wirebug cooldowns. Also picking up a temporary third bug helps make the skill spammable.

@@kusolp544 But once valstrax goes ambush or during anomaly monster quiro explosions, anime sword user runs away like a scared cat. Lancers just shrug them off like nothing happened

@@kusolp544 Lol! If you can post a video of you consistently countering Valstrax Ambush or Quiro Explosion I'll believe you. Specially a Quiro Explosion😆 As for me I can readily post a video of a Lance with Guard Up Level 1, consistently Blocking/Shield Tackling/Shield Charging not to mention Insta Block Countering through any monster super attack except Flaming Espinas Nuke which is the only true unblockable attack in the game. Actually, I have the video already uploaded on Reddit 2 weeks ago.

Leaping has longer jump/reach too. Never tried it with sweep. Ty for the suggestion

It was an accidental discovery. The button inputs is very simple and makes the playstyle very braindead. Literally spamming Shield tackle allows you to ignore roars, "hyper armor" through weaker attacks, and is a movement skill (allowing you to dodge attacks and reposition your character). It's a good move but "guard dash"+attack offers more dps and elemental buidup (spammable but hard to reposition as well) I find myself spamming tackle until I get my 1st KO to sneak in some damage or if I want to chew through my sharpness (before the monster changes zones/is weak enough to be hunted) If you like support roles in videogames I would say use tackle and add some slugger, diversion, and offensive guard skills/decorations. But for solo play, guard dash might be better. Sorry for the long read, may you carve out many mantles.

the hi ninja sns was my favorite support build. I copied a slugger+stamina thief build where you "punch" instead of using the sword. (Seen in my metsu shoryugeki video) The new wirebug skills shield dash and oil made it even better! but the lance build was my comfort HR survival build (copied from a "zombie lance" video from some japanese players)

Glad it works well with you, but be sure to use the lance's other useful skills. xD I have been on pc getting carried/boosted by friends and end game looks bad. Unfortunately I'll have to play through a second time on the switch.

It was ice element and the armor/ decorations were not even optimal. I havent played much on my main account (switch) since this upload, probably halfway on sunbreak story. but for now, I will rely on you guys to go further and have awesome hunts.

Thank you for the tip. People were mentioning high thrust was better after the upload. The high thrust variant requires precise inputs (releasing block then switching from light attack key to heavy attack) While light attack spam allows you to hold on to block and button mash light attack. Cheers, veteran!

Yep lance has a full arsenal of useful moves that I was not using properly. This video was made as a response to another I had uploaded a week ago. But I decided to test how long it would take if I were to only spam tackles > poke repeat. (With a bit of spiral thrust to get closer). Cheers, my lance main!

I believe so. Spiral thrust's buff does last for a few seconds. So you would have to quickly swap your switch skill to anchor after parrying with spiral. I tried it once and you do yet both the blue and orange highlights.

Very fun switch skill for multiplayer. Especially since monsters runs around targeting other players. Saw another lance player using it in a hunt and I just had to use it as well instead of sticking to my standard playstyle of spiral thrust.

I wouldn't say its is the best playstyle but shield tackle is pretty convenient (advancing has its own benefits too). for the switch the input is ZR (hold) + x (or hold block + light attack). just mash the x button while holding on block. once you get a hang of it you will understand how dumb this loop is

Support playstyles for the win! I was first drawn into the lance in MHW when I saw the diversion jewel and wanted to create a lance build which aggros the monster away from my teammates. unfortunately I lacked the materials to craft it

@@CronuLL I finally found a slot for Diversion and man has it sped up multi-player hunts for me. It's a little sketchy if you screw up a guard or counter but it's definitely working for me.

truth - offensive, stun, stamina drain, guard up - goes through pretty much everything. seen stuns from stuns with this :)

On a rathian head I can hit almost 1000 dmg with no guard unga bunga set, it feels great 🤣

I really want to do more follow ups on this video but I was convinced to switch over to pc (temporarily ;) ) by some friends so I am currently starting from scratch. This playstyle was a bit fun playing in multiplayer since you are pretty much up in front of the monster as the tank for your party (especially if your teammates are using sticky bowguns which means constant knock outs)
