From one DYI to another DYI I was going to follow the provincial design most everyone has always followed. I am a retired (69 year old) remodeling General contractor and have done a lot of on the job engineering remodeling only I just wasn't going this/your way after I saw a sawmill from Sweden then I saw I already had the saw. I just needed to build the trailer with the rail and a carriage to carry the saw I already hand to mill with. The dog is chained so he doesn't get injured do you see that massive log if something happens? The dog is dead. It is dangerous for animals to roam freely aroud these tipe of equipment

Nice one fellow scrap converter .... I built a similar mill out of an old boat trailer .. the engine , shafts and winch are form an old 6 wheel ATV . There is no such thing as scrap, just a lack of imagination is my motto. Big thumbs up to you

That's great, I built one about 25 years ago and our sawmills are almost built identical, I enjoy seeing what people can build if they put their minds to it. I attached a car screw jack at the front where the log lays so I could level the logs.

you should better pay attention for your dog , the whole day on a chaine, outside cold rain , windy snow, freezing, why🤑😡🤬 do you need a dog if he can't live in freedom!!

These saws are sharp, be careful with them

It’s obvious the guy is an amateur. Who in their right mind would operate this machine without safeguarding the wheels and blade. If that blade snapped,it would take his head off in a heartbeat.

FYI - from the WD-40 website "WD-40 Multi-Use Product is not really a lubricant. The product’s formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal.." So you should use something else to lubricate your bearings.

Really nice job. Needs hydraulic lift ramps for loading logs so you don't kill your back. I've been thinking about building one for myself.good job

That is a awesome build and not too much different then mine ... Is your drive belt on some kind of clutch system or does your blade start spinning as soon as the engine is running ???
