The individuals I've seen hate on PvE players have turned out to be the most elitist, pretentious, singleminded, and cartoonishly dickish bullies in all of gaming. It astounds me everytime a Hardcore PvPer says "Getting Good" is possible when your sloop is being powder kegged while you're on the complete opposite side of an island. No matter how good you are, you can't defend your ship, which is basically an extension of yourself, if you're fighting skeletons in a cave somewhere.

The only reason to mutilate the safe seas experience so much is because you know if its 1:1 and the only difference is other players doing PvP, a vast majority of people are gonna be going safer seas. I don't see the point in capping so much, rewards are literally all cosmetics.
