its like a por* movie.... action starts at last third of the video....
Is this region locked? What’s the 15 number? Will play in US players?
The 4K discs are region-free, the Special Features and Animatrix Blu-rays should be but I’m not certain and the 15 logo is the age rating for the UK meaning it is recommended for people older than 15
It's available on Amazon (Europe) now and priced down from €69 to €43,12 which is quite a bargain for 4 movies plus the Animatrix on bluray! Ordered it just now. 🙂 By the way, I saw in your video in the close-up view of the details that The Animatrix has Dolby Atmos sound which is really interesting!
Got mine for 8.
This might be interesting to watch in 4k
It finally came out! I wanted one once it got announced, and I'm glad this movie is getting recognized especially it getting put back on Paramount +. Would love to get this
This looks awesome! Glad you got it. I never actually saw this movie as a kid. Makes me wanna cop this release and finally watch it.
Glad this includes Animatrix on Blu-ray, been wanting to rewatch that. Amazon review mentions the special features for Resurrections were on a separate Blu-ray that came in its initial release and weird they didn't include it, though with the UK Star Trek Kelvin Trilogy excluding all the special features discs the US got I'm not surprised studios keep making dumb decisions regarding special features.
Does this edition has spanish subtitles?. I see there are only 3 subtitles in the case, but sometimes the discs inside have more.
Yes and in audio language as well
@@AsadKnightVideos In the 4K disc?
Yes
So glad that they included The Animatrix in this Set as it has been Out of Print for a while.
I uploaded the Matrix 5 book/script, The Matrix Regenerated, onto my UA-cam channel via screen recording.
the animatrix has a lot of tie ins with the other films. they are stories that are talked about breifly in the films if you keep a listen out for them you will pick up the refrences
While I have seen it before some time ago, I shall do my best to keep an ear out for them
@@AsadKnightVideos when the crew go back to zion a kid meets neo and offers to carry his bags, thats the kid that jumps out the window in the animatrix, thats one of many :)
Hi, How is Animatrix's quality? Is it really 4K?
Hello. I haven’t watched it yet but it’s a regular Blu-ray Disc so it will be in 1080p HD
@@AsadKnightVideos so i think the one in the UHD 4k edition is 4k as the title points out if it is not the exception in the package.
The sticker on the box says “Includes The Animatrix on Blu-ray” so only the matrix movies are on 4K discs. It would be cool to see The Animatrix on 4K but they haven’t done that so it’s only on Blu-ray
Shame the Animatrix isn't included
It is actually. I mentioned it several times in the video and it’s on Blu-ray
Just bought this yesterday. A lot better than the US "deja vu" set, which also has the films on blu-ray instead of the special features discs, and doesn't include The Animatrix.
four films and only one is watchable.
who still waste money of bad movies like that
2 is great, one is watchable, 1 is unwatchable.
@@frakkx3491 "great"
You're actually the first person I've seen unbox this set at all and that must be a HMV exclusive. Now was there a standard blu-ray set available?
Yes there is as I mentioned in the video. Links are in the description but I’ll post the link for the Standard Blu-ray set here: hmv.com/store/film-tv/blu-ray/the-matrix-the-ultimate-collection
As for the reason why you could only find at HMV it must be a HMV exclusive probably which is kinda bizzare Amazon and Zavvi doesn't have it@@AsadKnightVideos
That could be the case although I can still find the Amazon listing via this link here: www.amazon.co.uk/The-Matrix-Ultimate-Collection-4K-Blu-ray/dp/B0BSHFHC36?tag=bluraycom-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1&m= I did try searching with the Amazon search bar and it didn’t show up then
@cmoranchel1 You're missing out on the 3 bonus discs that came out in the original box-set and this set doesn't have the films on standard 1080p discs only the remastered 2018 special features disc
I'm with you. The last time I tried to watch the first, I couldn't even finish it. I think I might have just watched it too many times now. I did also enjoy the sequels a bit more because of the action but the main themes of the first film didn't seem to translate over so I just took the sequels as bonkers action films only! I actually thought Resurrections was fine. A bit weird, more than usual, and the action was massively lacking. But fun nonetheless. I actually think the trailer for it was far superior to the film itself! As you mention as well, the actual 4K is reference quality for sure. Looks like a nice set and I didn't know The Animatrix was part of it! Well worth the buy. Thanks for the unboxing and have a great weekend!
That seems to be the way to enjoy the two part sequels if you can't follow the story and philosophy I remember the first trailer being cool to watch but I wouldn't be surprised if Resurrections ends up being my least favourite of the series No problem and you have a good weekend too 👍
@@AsadKnightVideos Resurrections is certainly my least favourite! But seriously, thank you for showing this because I would never have known The Animatrix was on it and I would have been stuck with my old region 1 DVD of it that doesn't play properly any more! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks!
@@BluRayDisplay Again no problem as no one on UA-cam seemed to have done an unboxing or talked about the set so I took it upon myself to do just that and get people informed about it I forgot to mention it in the video but I do and still have the DVD of The Animatrix that I got from a charity shop at one point
@@AsadKnightVideos Exclusive right here! 😎 Glad you're getting the word out. Strange we get The Animatrix but the U.S version does not! But we'll take it! I ordered mine yesterday so thank you.... again! 🤣 Those charity shops are always a good way to find things. I still go to my local shop and see things there that are long out of print!
Exclusive until someone more popular does an unboxing of this and gives it more attention 😏 I know there was a Deja Vu collection that had the 4 movies on UHD & Standard Blu-rays if that’s what your referring to
Nice, So how many episodes total? I forget how many they made?
30 Episodes total in this box set
7:15 ha!
That picture actually is in colour. I just didn’t have the foresight to know that the B&W filter would take that away. Oh well...but that picture, the 15 logo and the little bars on the bottom of the front cover are the only things that have colour
Here he is! Long time! Hope you're doing well? The Lighthouse is an experience that is indescribable! I didn't like it much either when I first saw it so I'm interested to see it again. Just got mine yesterday and more excited for the 4K transfer rather than the film itself. I'm a big fan of films in 4:3. I watched Living last night and that's in 1.48:1 so close. I like the way they can get almost as much of a feeling of openness in the shape of a box! But I am a child of the 4:3 CRT TV age! The American A24 release just states that it's a "new HDR master". So should be the same source. Nice unboxing, as always and hope you have a great weekend!
I’m doing fine. I’ll just be uploading here and there for the time being I said I liked the movie when I first saw it but it was only once so I will see how I feel about it this time I hear it’s great which I’m sure is standard for Arrow releases (even if the transfer is the same from A24) I haven’t seen many things with smaller aspect ratios unless you count dvd releases of older shows I thought I would ask since I heard it was the same as the A24 release so I might take your word for it Will do and I hope you have the same By the way, have you seen Across the Spider-Verse? It’s my favourite film of the year so far and I think it’s just as good as the first one
Just wondering, is the 4K disc the UK Cut of the film or the original? I really want to get this steelbook, but I don't want to get it if it's the censored UK cut that cuts out Fiona's headbutt to Charming at the end of the movie, replaces Larry King + others with UK celebs, etc.
It’s the US version so Larry King voices Doris and the headbutt is in there as well. The standard Blu-ray included should also be that version as well
@@AsadKnightVideos thank you so much :)
Shrek 2: Electric Boogaloo! Nice dude! I'm glad the steel does look better in person because all the shots I saw of it made it look like they had just stencilled the title on! Keep the glossy steels away from me! I prefer matte because of the fingerprints! Nice presentation as always my friend! You have a wonderful day too!
The Steelbook definitely does look good in person, also I have given it a watch and it’s a good upscale. It’s most likely the same way the first Shrek was upscaled but because Shrek 2 was an improvement from the first in terms of CG visuals, the upscale benefits here with showcasing finer detail. My examples include: The glitter in Fairy Godmother’s hair Patterns in clothing Individual white strands in Puss in Boot’s fur Background references The names on the Employee of the Month board in the factory (probably readable on Standard Blu-ray too) There are probably more examples but those are the ones I noticed. It’s not a night and day difference, but it’s a noticeable difference. HDR is most definitely the standout of the release with more vibrant colours and greater brightness with flashes of light. Examples include: When Shrek, Donkey and Fiona transform on the night before they discover said transformation The lightning from Fairy Godmother’s wand towards the end of the movie So I would definitely recommend it if your a fan of the film, but keep in mind it’s not going to be a big difference. I imagine Shrek 3 & 4 will look even better from the upscales
@@AsadKnightVideos Nice 😎 I will keep an eye out for your examples! I think if it's still available I will order it when I get my Christmas vouchers 🤣 Not a Zavvi exclusive I hope?! It makes it more worthwhile when they make good use of HDR. It sounds really good! When I think about the Shrek films, I remember liking the first 2 but I'm not sure about the rest but also, these days I seem to be mis-remembering! So I might not like them at all! But at least they hold their value well so I can sell them on! 🤣
Nope. HMV and Amazon have it for sale as well I prefer the combination of resolution and HDR but yes the latter would be more noticeable if the resolution isn’t a big jump I would hope so since Shrek 2 is more colourful than the first Even though I have stated this in the 2 Shrek Steelbook videos, this is easy for me to rank as such: 1. Shrek 2 2. Shrek 3. Shrek Forever After 4. Shrek the third I do think the first 2 are worth rewatching and if you still don’t like them, then you can do like you said and just sell them
@@AsadKnightVideos Oh very good! The Zavvi exclusives are getting out of control! I do as well but I keep seeing some good implementation of HDR on upscales. Star Trek Beyond is a good example of a bad film made to look better with only HDR10! I better get watching so I can rank them as well! Yep! I'll see if I can get them all in the sales tomorrow! Have a great day dude!
Great video! I am considering getting one!
Smash Mouth were an ace band! Ha! You've got me wanting to watch Shrek again now dude! 😁 Not see it in years! Funny how they just flip the art for different steelbooks! A bit lazy but they do need to keep costs down for physical media. Nice one, as always dude! 😎
If you have the time, I’d say it’s worth rewatching as well as the second (and maybe the third and fourth if you want to watch all of them) I have managed to watch Avatar: The way of water in IMAX 3D and it was a great experience but I will point out that in certain scenes including everything underwater, Cameron has upped the frame rate to 48FPS which I liked but it would have made sense to use them exclusively for the underwater scenes and no where else. As for the movie itself, I thought it was on par with the first but I will rewatch it as some point to see if that changes
@@AsadKnightVideos I will make the time! But why is it so hard to find either of the first two on 4K?! I don't want to drop down to standard Blu-ray 😞 Very nice indeed! I forgot it was already out 🤣 I don't think I will get the chance to watch it in IMAX 3D though 😣So it helped the underwater scenes but hurt the other scenes? Is it a bit too smooth? I got half way through the first film the other day and fell asleep! I think because I'm old, nothing to do with the film itself.... 😎
The UK releases are steelbooks only while the US has standard and steelbook releases so if you don’t mind paying extra, you can try importing the standard US cases (the included Blu-ray Discs are region free I believe even if it isn’t specified on the case) The use of High Frame Rate is soft of all over the place outside of underwater and certain action scenes. I didn’t mind the HFR but I know it will bother people looking for a traditional movie experience and I just feel it should have kept to the underwater scenes because it further enhances the fluidity of the environment and would make it standout more. You may be lucky and just experience the 3D at a normal frame rate
@@AsadKnightVideos I will look a bit harder here because I don't have much luck importing lately. A lot are arriving damaged. Yeah, a lot of people hated it in Gemini Man. I didn't mind it overall but it made everything look more artificial to my eyes. I suppose with Avatar being all CGI, it doesn't matter. I'll try and get to see it but won't be until next year now. I won't be buying the 4K in protest until they release The Abyss and True Lies!
Out of curiosity, is Gemini Man entirely in 60FPS? I have heard that the 4K version of The Abyss could be releasing in March 2023 alongside or before the release of the 4K versions of Avatar 1 & 2 on home media. Nothing on True Lies though
I do appreciate an uncluttered cover. I prefer blue as well but the Perfect Planet cover seems too busy for me. I'm glad they did include the diaries somewhere! Think I'm getting the big box set for Christmas so can't say anymore yet 🤣 Great to see you back and hope you're having a great weekend! I got The Callisto Protocol on Friday so I've been playing the heck out of it!
I like both of them for different reasons so I’m not divisive there Seven Worlds One Planet, A Perfect Planet and The Green Planet also include them on 4K so anything before like Planet Earth 2 & Blue Planet 2 would only be on the Blu-ray discs Thanks and I hope you are too. I have just fully completed God of War: Ragnarök and enjoyed my time with it as much as the previous game but I would not call either of them masterpieces
@@AsadKnightVideos I'll probably end up changing my mind 🤣 Maybe when 8K comes out they can add them to Planet Earth 2 & Blue Planet 2 😎 Thanks, all good here! I love when it's rainy and dark outside so I'm happy! Is Ragnarök pretty much the same as the first? I can't get beyond the first couple of hours of the first God of War so I'm not fussed about part 2. I am now very much looking forward to the Dead Space remake after playing The Callisto Protocol! Love horror games!
Even if 8K did become physical, would you be ok with upscales just to have the diaries included on the disc? It is similar, but more polished and refined (and bigger than the 2018 game). If you didn’t get into the last one, then Ragnarök might not change your mind I am the opposite since I am not brave enough to play or watch anything horror unless they stop being so focused on jump scares
@@AsadKnightVideos Hahahaha! Probably not! Upscale is a dirty word to me! 🤣 I did just download the first one again to give it another go so we shall see how I get on. But I just got Sonic Frontiers as well..... So might be a while! Oh man, you gotta try! You're missing out on a load of great films and games! Callisto Protocol has absolutely loads of jump scares so I don't recommend it!
Well I don’t think BBC would reissue 4K discs for the prior two just to include the diary portions Just focus on what your playing now and only get to replaying God of War if you have the interest I may very well be but I rather have good atmosphere and a sense of tension and threat from the monsters rather than how many times they jump out in time with an audio spike
Seriously nice price for the set! I find it amazing that Planet Earth 2 is rated as the number 1 TV show of all time on IMDb! Ha! Man, that's some watching you're doing! 😎 I bet the 4K image is absolutely pristine! Proper 4K masters and not some cheap 2K upscale! I must admit, I've never even heard of A Perfect Planet! I must be living under a rock... 😞 It's odd they took off the behind the scenes. I really like watching anything behind the scenes! You're getting me excited for your next unboxing! I've got an idea what it might be! 🤣 Have a great day yourself!
Really? I guess nature wins people over (or maybe the way they film it) Especially as I don’t watch TV shows (or rarely do) due to the time commitment so I have to be picky about what to watch so it isn’t a waste of my time (like Gotham kind of was upon reflection) As mentioned in the video, I would expect it be in Native 4K so you can appreciate the look of nature more There is still special features on the 4K discs mentioned on the back of the box set (my guess is the Making of features are the compilations of the diaries from the end of each episode but that is just a guess) Have fun with the anticipation until then
@@AsadKnightVideos I think it's a bit of both. I personally enjoy the filming more than the nature. I didn't even finish Gotham, I found it disappointing way before the end. I do like TV shows though. I will sacrifice a film to watch Lost once every year! But modern TV is so weak and badly made and written that I only stick to the old stuff now. I've seen a few 2K upscales recently for films that really would benefit from a proper 4K transfer and I was not sure if the BBC would invest the time and money for full 4K, I'm glad they did! Oh that's good then. Hahahahahaha! Nice 😎
Yeah that makes sense I got up to season 4 watching though the second time but I may at some point just solely watch season 5 just to get it over with and never bother again I was interested in Lost at one point until I looked up the overall running time and saw that it was over 90hrs which turned me off from ever watching it (sorry if it’s one of your favourites) That same argument could apply to movies as well Which films in particular? I believe a 4K Upscale can look really good if handled well (Kingsman is my example of this)
@@AsadKnightVideos Good plan, at least then it's like you've concluded it properly. No worries, we all like different things! It is a massive investment and I do agree with you that a lot end up being a waste of time. A lot seem to get cancelled in the middle of a run these days. I didn't like it personally but Westworld has just been cancelled on a cliffhanger so it will never get a conclusion! Yes, I stick to older films for the same reasons. I haven't seen the Kingsman 4K, might have to pick it up if you recommend it. For me, I could not see a difference to Blu-ray in PQ on the District 9 4K. Alien: Covenant, American Assassin, all the 2K Marvell films! One I did like though was 13 Hours, that had solid night time scenes. The only thing that pushes them a bit further than Blu-ray is the HDR but something like American Assassin didn't seem to have it at all.
That probably is the worst thing to happen when something you enjoy ends abruptly due to cancellation or no follow ups planned because it’s either unsuccessful or any other reason Yeah I don’t blame you. Not a lot of movies being made well enough recently to be remembered or discussed I’m just going from what I remember but the 4K of Kingsman: The Secret Service looked really good for an upscale but I will leave that up to you. It doesn’t hurt to look into it as well Funny enough, Thor: Love & Thunder is apparently the best 4K transfer of a Marvel Studios film that is reference quality with Dolby Atmos being top notch as well. Let’s hope it isn’t just a one off and they will keep it up (especially with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 which I am looking forward to)
In real life, it's only 12 years between Sean Connery and Harrison Ford.
I did hear about that. Do you ever think about that when you watch it or are you able to overlook it? (Sorry for the late reply)
Very odd they would add the glue now. I get fed up when I see it because it seems to leave an oily stain on the steel for me 😣Take that rating sticker off 🤣 Tim Dalton is my favourite Bond so no harm here 😎 Nice Lego set dude! Just as you mentioned the Blu-ray included in the UK release, I wondered to myself why we get it but the Americans only get the 4K! Weird! Cracking shot of all three together at the end 🔥 I keep getting the old 4K box set unboxings recommended to me now 🤣 I take the final one the same way I take the remakes of Star Trek, a lot more fun than the originals, but too much of it! It seems they wrap the story around comedy set pieces rather than the other way around! I wonder who you were talking about at the end there.... 🤔Some weirdo no doubt 😁 I always appreciate your knowledge and enthusiasm for Indiana Jones and I hope you make more videos in the future! My name is James, by the way, if I haven't already said! Have a great day yourself dude 🤘
It is strange indeed. Also, I prefer the ratings logo on there because I am weird so NEVER!!! Apart from Daniel Craig, I have only seen the other Bond films once so I may have to consider a rewatch of them at some point. Thanks. Maybe there’s a different mind set for why 4K Steelbooks in America get the digital code instead. They definitely look amazing if you want to show them off like a display piece. That is also quite strange. Are you referring to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull when your mention about revolving too much around comedy? He must be as he keeps replying to my comments 😏. Thanks even if there are bigger fans of it than me and I will see how i feel about wanting to make more videos. Nice to have been taking to you James...not Bond I hope 😯
@@AsadKnightVideos Hahahahaha! Super weird! 🤣We all like different things, hey! I was happy I could take them off the new Edge of Tomorrow 4K set but they are permanently attached to the Event Horizon set which has upset me 😞 You should! If just to see how bad some of them are now! I tried not long ago and only got through Dr. No and Thunderball before I jumped to The Man with the Golden Gun! Oh yes, I forgot they get the code instead! Every time I get an American import, I give the code to someone in America and they are so grateful it's like I've given them $1000! I would have thought they would prefer the discs because their internet, on average, is worse than ours! Kingdom Skull, yes. I just found it too silly all the way through. Temple of Doom has a lot of comedy but it knew when to use it and when not to. These weirdos are everywhere these days! Can't get rid of them! 😯 You just are more genuine than other videos I've watched. Everyone is so overblown but you are calm and consistent! I prefer that! I hope you do make more but it's got to be right for you. Nice talking to you too and I wish I was James Bond 🤣 Have a great Sunday!
I can understand that. I am just used to the ratings from the standard editions so I do not get upset over it but having the option to remove them is definitely considerate for others. I could give you a list of my favourite movie from each actor based on my first time watches if your interested. Not all American releases exclude the Blu-ray Discs but these steelbooks are the exception. Even Raiders and The Last Crusade with it’s humour works since it’s more grounded and based on character interactions and situations and like you said, it knows when to have an opportunity for a funny moment. I just try to do my best since there is always room for improvement to make potential future videos better
@@AsadKnightVideos I get ya, I think my feelings come from importing too many American versions with clean covers and no ratings! Yes please! I would like that! Yeah true, I've actually only noticed a few. I was surprised the new 4K of Crawl is missing the Blu-ray because that's not a super popular films so I would have added it to help increase sales. Exactly sir! You do very well as far as I'm concerned! 🤘 Sorry it always takes me so long to reply, UA-cam hardly ever notifies me of messages these days! I have to dig into the comments section on the studio!
Here is my list of my favourite movie from each actor that played James Bond so far: Sean Connery: From Russia with Love Roger Moore: The Man with the Golden Gun Timothy Dalton: The Living Daylights Pierce Brosnan: Goldeneye Daniel Craig: Casino Royale My pick from Daniel Craig’s films is solidified from multiple watches of all 5 of them while the films from other actors could change in the future. The Zavvi exclusive Collectors edition of Crawl does include the Blu-ray disc as well as extra items but it is more expensive as expected. It is no problem. You would think that enabling notifications should “notify” you of comments and other things
hiya!, total superb sharing, AsadKnight. ;))
Didn't you like Willie??? 🤣Yeah, she was a bit annoying and caused a lot of trouble! Short Round is a dude! I liked him too. Be good to hear your thoughts on the films! Take it easy!
Hey. I am sorry if I didn’t get round to replying to any your comments earlier but thank you for taking the time to make them. I have a lot more tolerance than I really should so she doesn’t bother me but I definitely understand why others would be (especially as she’s no Marion Ravenwood). Short round to me is one of the better child characters as he does have quite a bit to do when it comes to helping Indy out on some occasions (even if his advice for taking the left tunnel fell on deaf ears). After the Last Crusade Steelbook arrives, I will watch these movies again and will provide my opinions based on that. Again thank you for leaving your comments as your probably the only one to have given my videos a full watch
@@AsadKnightVideos No worries my friend! I don't mind Willie, she's a character I will watch and enjoy. Especially in the earlier scenes! Definitely not as capable and resourceful a character as Marion! Short Round is great! I agree, he was given plenty to do and certainly saved the day at one point! Hahahaha! Yeah, that was funny! I'm due a re-watch soon as well. I'm looking forward to your opinion because so far I agree with you completely! Any time! I want to give support to anyone who has your passion for films! Are you on Instagram? I found my channel started growing really well when I used Instagram to promote it.
I don’t really use social media unless you count UA-cam as such which in that case it’s the only social media I ever use. Also I don’t really plan to make this a full time thing as I may or may not be doing this kind of thing forever. I much prefer to have a small group of followers rather than a large following with a bigger responsibility to maintain momentum that would be quite tiring and stressful to do. Hopefully you understand where I am coming from
@@AsadKnightVideos Don't blame you, Fakebook ruined my life twice so I would never touch that again! I understand that, I only started because I was made redundant and just could not find another job so I have a lot of spare time to focus on it. I do totally understand. I'm starting to stress because of people attacking the way I make videos and it makes me question if I should go any further. We should all be free to do it the way we feel most comfortable so however you go forward I will be supportive of you!
It sucks that these things happened to you. Are you still looking for work by any chance? Also yeah I can see why that would be stressful unless it can be constructive in how to improve your content but yeah it can have an affect on you if it’s overwhelming. We should be able to do it in the most comfortable way that makes it enjoyable and thank you if you stick around in the future
Thanks for the unboxing. It's been useful in that it's convinced me (also based on the pics online) that I shouldn't get this, because the discs look bland, the poster is... well, that's the only extra thing you get for 25 quid! When will they give us a proper Special Edition?
No problem. The discs having no artwork is something that does not bother me but it could have added some extra presentation to this Steelbook. The poster is at least something even if it is not hugely substantial. Out of curiosity, what would be your ideal Special Edition of this movie? (or Indiana Jones in general)
@@AsadKnightVideos Well, have a look at the 4K boxset coming out soon for Get Carter. Not Steelbook, but you get a poster, art cards and an 80-page book. It's currently just one pound more than the Indy Steelbooks. That's a cool package for around the same price.
From what I saw, it was only £1 more on Amazon (with everywhere else being £30 as standard) but I will go along with it. It does indeed have a bit more value to it and it would have been nice to see Paramount offer similar content like this though I do not know if they would bother with releasing another 4K edition of the movies (though Warner Bros likes to repackage Harry Potter so many times so who knows)
Nice unboxing 😎 Those glue dots are one of the worst things ever! So happy they didn't use them on here! I much prefer a matte finish on a steelbook. Glossy ends up with fingerprints all over them 😣 Much better artwork this time around 😁 Looking forward to your unboxings of Temple of Doom and Last crusade! You have a wonderful day too!
