Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
Thailand
Pioneering ethical elephant tourism on the stunning island of Phuket in Southern Thailand. We offer a retirement home for sick, injured, tired, or old elephants who have previously worked hard for tourism entertainment or in the logging industry.
Feed, walk with, and observe our beautiful rescued elephants as they roam throughout our sanctuary, socialise and bathe naturally in our huge fresh water lagoons, and cover themselves in lovely thick mud; as they would in the wild.
Transform your world as you step into the tranquility of sanctuary life amidst the beautiful forest bordering the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park.

In May 2020 we rescued Dee Lerd & Sri Nual, 2 female Asian elephants, from a smaller camp in Phuket that had to close due to Covid-19. Covid-19 affected numerous elephant projects throughout Thailand, many of which had to temporarily or permanently close. One of the affected places here on the island could no longer provide the care for their 2 elephants due to the lack of tourists. The Save El...

Why elephants at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary bathe freely
The short but heavy showers that are typical for Phuket's monsoon season help to fill up our lagoons and streams - and our elephants love it. The increased water levels give the elephants more room to splash around, to cool down and to relax. Especially Fah Mui in this video loves a good bath and head scrub in the river. When engaging in these natural bathing rituals, elephants like to move aro...
Rescue of Fah Mui in April 2019 - Welcome Home
Fah Mui is the Thai name of a very rare, blue-purple coloured Vanda Orchid. A fitting name for our newcomer as we travelled 900 kilometers to find her in the bustling city of Pattaya. Fah Mui, previously known as Boon Num is 39 years old, and until April 2019 she was working in one of Pattaya’s largest riding camps. Many of Pattaya’s elephants are currently being moved to Phuket to ride and bat...
Let Elephants Bathe Free
Elephants love to swim, cool off and splash in the water, and to cover themselves with thick mud. They like to do so alone or with fellow elephants. However, if people crowd around or interact with them during this bathing ritual, it becomes stressful for the elephants, preventing them from enjoying their time in the water and displaying their natural behavior. To give the elephants the privacy...

PLS DO NOT SUPPORT GREEN ELEPHANT SANCTUARY (PHUKET). THE OWNER KICKED A THAI WOMAN IN THE BACK (video leaked & he lied saying he slipped) & ILLEGALLY RENTS ELEPHANTS FOR HIS BUSINESS.

Sana nilipat na lang dito si MALI, at least naging masaya siya kasama ibang elephants and maging at ease siya for its natural habitat, hindi yng isolated siya sa Manila Zoo for 5 decades😢
I am in Thailand right now. I will be going there to volunteer for 3 days and there is not other place in Phuket where they really care about these beauties.
we will be there! Thank you for your work!
It’s closed now 😔💔 they WASNT taking care of the elephants either
A beautiful experience, so lovely to see these beautiful/magnificent creatures in their natural environment feeling the love from everyone who is privileged to visit them, great work guys, absolutely loved it. We will be back again soon.
Been here about 2 years ago, they are absolute saints and look after the elephants so so well. Couldn’t recommend enough
I am coming to see you in December, thank you so much for what you ae doing x
This is the only 1 ethical elephant sanctuary on Phuket. The ones where tourists bathe w elephants they have to be trained to not hurt the humans so the elephants are hurt in the training. So unfair. Only sanctuaries where elephants maintain their dignity and only have feeding interaction w tourists can call themselves ethical, with honesty.
i hope this is the truth
After everything she has been through the water must feel amazing.
How are your elephants survive in Covid-19
Finally 🙏🏻🇬🇧
The enslavement of the elephants must stopped! Thank you for rescuing this Majestic , social and highly intelligent Sentient being! But I feel sad for the ones who have been left behind! Even though I understand that it’s difficult to save all of them! ❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
I love Elephants
Parabéns, belíssima atitude!!!!!
😍😍😍🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤❤❤❤
The two best friends
I love these creatures
My wife and I consciously went to this place to support this great initiative. We didn't visit any other private safaris because we don't want to support animal suffering. We told our friends about such a great opportunity for elephants and hope they'll share our point of view.
That is the best place for elephants in Phuket.
Very nice 👍
I’m 👏🏻 clapping and crying I’m so happy! Thank you for rescuing her. I look forward to seeing her heal up! The beginning broke my heart! I cut on her head made me cry. Please God, send more people to help these “REAL SANCTUARIES “ rescue all of the captive Eles!
Elephant ❤️🤟
Start of this video is so heart breaking 😭😭
Excellent
Cute!
What a wonderful experience.
My father went years ago and saw how the elephants were treated. He hated thailand and spoke bad of the abuse the elephants go through. He saw a baby in crush and he could not contain his emotions 40 years later the memories are so fresh. He cannot contain is emotions still. As a American and sailor he wanted to murder the people and release that baby. He regrets he did nothing.
Amanda, I can understand your father's anger and frustration.. 45 years ago, when I was just 17, I went to work on a circus. I have also seen bad treatment of elephants, although nothing as bad as the way the Thai elephants are treated, it was bad enough. I still have nightmares about it - it haunts me. To be very honest, when the tsunami hit Phuket, I cheered that the earth was taking vengeance on that evil place. I don't know why tourists continue to visit it. Those people have no souls that they could take the innocence of a baby animal and torture it. I am glad that there are some operators that are changing their ways, but there are still 3,000 elephants trapped in that nightmare in Thailand alone with many more in Cambodia, India and other Asian countries. China has imported hundreds of baby elephants from Africa and hire the Thai trainers to break their spirits. It's a horrible, evil spot on the planet.
These people abuse and torture these animals because they are frustrated with their own miserable existence. Any bastards that tortures or mistreated a baby elephant is a soulless son of a bitch and should rot in hell
Your comment isn’t about this place but about the places these elephants were rescued from. This is the only one we found after weeks of research that walks the talk of being a sanctuary.
I want to go to Thailand now because they give the elephants the respect now and finally want them to live free. Change is happening
I would pay to see them in their natural habitat. Not on the streets begging and people riding them. People will donate and be happy to come see happy elephants free
Love this! Thank you for helping to restore my faith in humanity! God bless you all richly in Jesus Name Amen! I would love to see much longer videos maybe? I don’t need pretty editing, I could watch them all sleeping for hours, lol! So sweet they all are! I’m sorry Ellies for what humans did to hurt you. These lovely people will try to bring healing with love!
I m going to Thailand this July and I will surely visit this elephant sanctuary along with others
Love all animals
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ elephants 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
how much the tour?
Phuket elephant ab wann können wir spielen
Phuket elephant ab wann können wir spielen
so basically this sanctuary only have 1 elephant? lol
They don't have one elephant! At the moment they have less them 10 elephants, its not so easy to get elephants to this sanctuary, because they can rescue them only by buying them, and the owner ask about 1-3 milion Thai baths, it's a lot of money. I was living in Phuket for 3 months and visit them twice, it is truly amazing place for these elephans. They try to rescue more, but like I said it's not so easy. :)
on your IG page it shows tourists in the water with the elephants
Omg bless you guys what u do to the elephants!!! 💜💜💜💜
They look so content! :) Thanks!
You better believe it. I’ve volunteered there
Fabulous tube video
I love elephants 🐘 you all are awesome for doing this. Thank you ☺️
