Eviciv 7 inch Display Case for Raspberry Pi Zero Part 1
We go over the design and implementation of a 3D printed case for the Eviciv 7 inch touch screen TFT display. In the case is a Raspberry Pi Zero W, making this a small computer and monitor. I'm using it for my ham radio shack as a HamClock.
The 3D models to print the case are free on Thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5429286
HamClock is free from Elwood Downey, WB0OEW: www.clearskyinstitute.com/ham/HamClock/
The display itself is from Amazon (NOT a sponsored or affiliate link): a.co/d/a8is7QK
My Raspberry Pi Zero W is from Amazon. It's not currently available.
The Micro USB extension cable leading from the Pi to outside the case is from Amazon, too (NOT a sponsored or affiliate link): a.co/d/8RYTPxG

Thank you so much for the design! It looks cool! And I have just purchased this screen from AliExpress and looking for a case to use it with my Raspberry Pi 4 so this looks perfect. How is the screen doing now with your Zero? Have you used it more than you thought?

Thanks for the kind words. The case I have published is a bit too shallow for pi 4. I’ll work on a case for the pi 4. I’ll post here when it’s done, or feel free to remix and post a deeper version.

I now have Touch working!! Here's how: Add to /boot/config.txt these two lines at the very end: [pi0] dtoverlay=dwc2.,dr_mode=host This tells the Pi Zero to behave as a host for USB connections. My DIY USB cable had only 4 wires, leaving the OTG sense pin disconnected. This left the Raspberry Pi Zero assuming it was the slave, and not the master. The lines above change that assumption, and now it works perfectly! Thanks to Huan Truong from the Triangle Embedded Computing group for the suggestion.
