I actually believe that in this specific situation, you'd really enjoy reading the books. The 6 originals are rich with political philosophy and it is truly astonishing how much more is in the books than in the films. Fundamentally, the books are a means for the conveyance of the philosophy and the films aren't. They can afford to do away with much of the philosophical content because the films are a means for the conveyance of the story plots. But the abundance of political and social philosophies contained in the books areprofound and the diversity of these topics is truly comprehensive. So I really encourage you to read the 6 original books.

Interesting analysis, but about Paul not having killed anyone while Machiavelli thought a ruler should be battle hardened, I doubt any Holy Roman Empire leader would risk his only child and heir in a war. Women, damn good ones, are in politics. Have proven themselves in most every facet of our life. Even in the military. Only a few women have gotten to the slog that is high level SEALs type stuff. They're not as much of a minority as you'd think they are. They're not looked down on. In fact in recent decades we've had to remove them from a pedestal that WE made for them. We saw them as damn near sinless and they wanted to be treated as one of us.
