Don, Mike, and I ventured to an old, abandoned World War II military base and prisoner-of-war camp in Texas, where more than 500 German POWs were held during the war. These individuals were captured in Africa, Sicily, and Russia, specifically during the North African Campaign in 1943. #metaldetecting #worldwar2 #video

coming down in March. Whatta you think the activity level will be?
@@rogerwells1263 March is a good weekend yeah depending on the weekend you choose if it’s spring break lots more people if it’s not it’s not hope that helps.
@@Metal-Detecting-Texas Great! We'll be there during SB. Went to Grand Isle two years ago. Froze our A$$ES and found a bunch of beer tabs.
Matt, I am the sons neighbor friend. I took some pictures of his dad (Meyer Krastof) and texted them to you. Meyer served 5.5 years in the Army during WWII. Steven (the son) is a Vietnam veteran and a cherished member of our community. Thank you again for reaching out, this was very special to witness!!
@@timbarbour881 thanks very much for your help.
That IS a great day. Happiness abound ! Lead 0.89 a pound = bills paid. Silver quarters , returned air looms , better weather, short drives. It’s all good.. outstanding! What did the son say when you contacted him?
@@mrcharlie5938 well we told about where his father served and many other things, it sure was fun being able to get it back to the family.
@ that deserves an atta-boy !!!!
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Thank you thank you.
Good hunt with nice finds.
@@rodmanning7114 Thanks we had a good day and are on our why to a ghost town in East Texas as I type this message, should have a video on this trip next Friday.
Good detective work on finding the son of the original owner of the dog tag and the return.

@@donbotting5700 Happy you enjoyed it.
Great job finding the dog tag and the return👍
@@surfsidedan6112 Thanks Dan it was pretty cool talking to the man’s son about his father’s world war 2 service and about his service in Vietnam.
Like how you find your item then show it cleaned up right after
@@gabesgarage4522 thanks for watching time permitting I will post another video tonight.
Nice hunt guys! Enjoy your videos. Any of you Aggies? Never knew anyone who knew where N Zulch was except us Aggies. I’d love to drive down that way from up here in Plano and hunt with you guys sometime. Not many beaches around here! Thanks for sharing.
@@NateNorthern no we are not Aggies but between the four of us there are a few Aggies in the families. Let me know if you are ever down here and maybe we can meet up on the beach somewhere. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great day out there! The silver earring adds some sparkle to your find.
Thanks.
Thanks a Bunch.
I think your mystery item is a cleaning patch jag for a service rifle. I would have had a pull string attached to it. Fun hunt & a new Root Slayer!
@@chrisrogers7618 I think the same thing but when I look up World War Two era gun cleaning kit it does not show up, but I’m sticking with it’s a patch jag.
Nice finds Matt while trying to stay warm! 😂😂
@@TXXpress yes sir it was a little chilly.
You have never found an IHP? That’s strange how that works. I metal detected about two years before I found my first buffalo. Now my white elephants are a Boy Scout neckerchief and a .50 caliber bullet. That’s a great hunt and I am glad you shared it with us. I think I am officially un-grounded now, but I am working 7 days a week until the week of April 18th. Then it is going to be on like donkey Kong! Outstanding!
@@mrcharlie5938 Glad you enjoyed it and hope to see you out digging again in April.

Thanks Buddy.
Great hunt. You're going to have to change your camera. That one makes me look fat.
I'm just spit balling here, but maybe you are, FAT.
Awesome video! Had a great time detecting!
See ya Sunday.
What media do you use to tumble your detecting finds? They come out with nice detail.
I use a jewelry tumbler with stainless steel media and shine brite.
What a great adventure! I foresee a trip to the emergency room if y’all keep riding that go-fast bike. I can honestly say that I have never taken a chain saw metal detecting with me before. I am not sure of you location, but if it has some mountain biking trails, I can tell you a work related story about the place , after I retire! Great video, keep it up, they keep me motivated….
Video reminded me of a WW1 training camp I use to search around some years back. Biblical flooding, major drought and hurricanes allowed mother nature to reclaim the area now with heavy brush growth :>(
Yeah that’s what it’s like out there but with a little more poison ivy!
Pretty thick where y’all are hunting. Y’all be careful on that electric bike. That thing is fast!
@@NCRelicHunter223 that thing will reach 60 mph I stay off it, my old ass will bust like a ripe watermelon if I crash. We are going to go again Sunday it will be less humid and much cooler, should be a better hunt.
@ 60 mph! 😮 Good luck on your hunt.
Fun and interesting hunt video. Very enjoyable.
Thanks D_ _ _ S_ _ _.
I like it!
We aim to please.
Fun times!
But hot and humid.
I was going to say that I think you washed your coil in hot water or something. The little coil looked like it was doing pretty good. Outstanding, great to see y’all out on the beach….
@@mrcharlie5938 I keep waiting for you to come go with us.

We'll be there next week.. coming from Missouri
@@19jody72 good hunting and safe travels, look for me on the beach.
Thanks..☕️👊🏻
@Metal-Detecting-Texas well we've been here 3 days.. I have found absolutely nothing but a bunch of aluminum trash thats been here a long time it looks. Man, you guys have it hard over here compared to Florida Beaches. I noticed the beachs here are very hard packed.. Im not ised to that. I hit it a 4.:30 am this morning for low tide, but still nothing. None the less, I can check Texas off my bucket list. I have to take off from md'ing tomorrow to spend time with the wife. She was good enough to give me 3 days of combing South Padre Island beaches ....lol
@@19jody72 sorry to hear you are having a rough time, where have you been hunting also I tend to stay up nearer the dunes this time of year I find mostly clad but I do find the odd ring from time to time good luck.
@Metal-Detecting-Texas I worked the beach/water line.. then moved up in the middle and then up near the dunes. I can't believe all the aluminum on these beaches. It's old and been there a while from the looks of it. I worked the pier pretry good yesterday. Clayton's Bar, I think it was called. But like I said.. It's good to explore new places and check things off the bucket list I mean it wasn't a total bust, I did find some modern clad. Couple quarters were deep and been the a while. Deep as in 10 inches at least. First time using a sand scoop here on you guy's beelaches, I now know that sucker gets HEAVY...🤣🤣
Cool fun bro! Congratulations on finds! You had a great time out there.. and nice weather on beach :9 Cheers and support from south European detecting colegues!
