there was another castle behind you in the woods
It's pronounced Row island as in Row a boat. I live in Barrow we often go for a walk at the nature reserve. We usually walk to the lighthouse. Piel castle is well worth a visit. Get the ferry over can explore the castle ruins. The pub does lovely food some people camp on there. The ferry also does seal watching trips. The nature reserve has a seal cam.
Where is detail in ur videos can’t find anything
If it's a shameful secret then so were all the psychiatric institutions. As was closing them so quickly, selling off the land, leaving good buildings to rot and vandalism, pocketing the proceeds and placing the patients in the community without proper support. And more recently persecuting people with mental health problems via the benefits system. Btw '"Hospital" is a generous term for this overcrowded and cruel building...' Talking nonsense - this building was used as nurses accommodation.
It's not the same hospital where the Queen Mother's cousines lived?
We loved the tour. We had Bianca
5:14 - is actually 'Walney Island' on the left.
Berlin kaffe in france used to play very old german pr0n in black and white. It’s not the case now
I've been here, it awesome:)
I've been to Edinburgh twice and I did not know that. I guess its time to renew my passport !
Wow 😅😅
Looks good to me alone peace quiet
Cool vid and really cool castle ruins! 2:16 Is the training facilities of the mighty Glasgow Celtic football team 👍
the hole in the ground could have been a well.
You should bring lighting when you explore!!
Please don't encourage this. You are not allowed to swim in Tarn Hows due to it being a SSSI
Me and my friends went here today !!!! It’s been really dry in Scotland so we where able to walk across the stream ! it’s about knee deep at some points
Where is the caption?
It isn't called Rydal Lake - it's Rydal Water. Interestingly though, it was originally called "Routhmere" (The lake on the Rothay) but was renamed Rydal Water after the village of Rydal that's located nearby, (itself named for "The valley where Rye is grown: i.e. 'Rye Dale', but why the lake wasn't renamed "Rydalmere" is a mystery!)
Such an annoying voice 😂eww
What’s the place called?
Is this Sue?
Thank u
It's such a weird continuation too that Celtic FC, with its history of institutional abuse of vulnerable people, would train on the old Lennox Castle grounds
true
Wow 😊
The evil things that were done to poor men women kids I seen some that were in there for 40years were mental ill
Is there any actual solid evidence of all the claims relating to this place? Has anyone ever been prosecuted? If not then I'm going to state that it's all a pack of lies.
Plenty of first hand accounts from the victims.
Well that's like believing because noone spoke out or did ( but not believed) that all those Catholic priests were innocent! People with disabilities are not heard even very recently as they cannot express themselves as those with fluent speaking skills it does not mean nothing happened it means the people complained to like nuns of old did not believe them or were too scared to report, do some research!
I lived and grew up in lennoxtown most off the workers in the castle were local's from the surrounding areas. Lennoxtown, Milton of campsie. Haughead etc. They didn't just abuse people. The way that people have talked about this is they just go to work to abuse people no. They worked there and the government services deemed who is sent there. It really sounds more like fantasy from some people like it was some sortof chitty chitty bang bang child catcher grabbing everyone locking them in a big castle and then the local workers just abused them.. I don't think so.. also my grandmother worked in there and refutes most off this propoganda.
I like your channel is the best in the world 🌎🌎
The castle was the nurses accommodation. Where the housing estate is was several wards and a shop almost like a village of it’s own. The castle itself did not house 1600 people. In 1941 the castle was used as an emergency maternity hospital during the Second World War. The surrounding ground now houses the training area for Glasgow Celtic (selltick) football club.
WOW this is awesome ,Glad i ran across your channel .dropping a sub ,wish u the very best .
We call them Sell-Tic nowadays. They're a lot more solid than that Structure. Regardless - all things crumble.
Really is amazing !!! ( cough,...aggghhhtt...aaahhheeeemmm ) More likely 1700's. This wasn't poured concrete it's block per block of granite. Like ancient history. It's out in nowhere vil. I know youtube like my own spirit.
Very well described by the narrator. A play about this dreadful hospital is being put on in Edinburgh at end of March 2023.
Where the housing estate and Celtic training ground is was all part of the hospital grounds. It was like another village where all the patients were.
Thats not a gard tower. Thats the original castle.
I love Scotland 👍 Irish man here 🇮🇪
💘 Promo sm
I found it walking from hodge close
It’s amazing how deteriorated it has become in 20 years. 👍
It really is!
The castle was set on fire in 2008
Where is this??
