Apparently the Cross Solo nibs were made by Namiki. I have a few of them that I bought in the 90's and they are probably the smoothest writing fountain pens which I own, and haha I have a lot.

Great collection and the Nakaya is so elegant. Writing has a feedback you can hear from the slightly "scratchy" sound like pencil. For me SM (Soft Medium) Elastic or SM would be preferred.

I have this very pen, got it 2 years ago for my 60th birthday from my wife. It is absolutely gorgeous and no photo or video does it justice for sure. I too find myself staring and admiring the beauty of the pen and the finish. It does has a metallic look to it under the gorgeous gradient red finish, looks stunning. I am really glad I found your review because there is very little info online regarding this pen. I had some ink flow issues with mine and sent it to MB repair a few times to get it right, and now it is good. I didn't know there might only be 800 of these with the flex nib out there, that will make these very rare pens. I love the feel of the pen, feels solid and substantial, and flexes nicely. Thank you for the review, I learned a few things I did not know, about the pen here.

Thanks for the haul! I especially like the cover for the 5-yr techo. Also I think you forgot to take out the white paper in the cover before you put in the techo. It will help close better without it.

How do you clean ur pipet after each ink? Do u just clean em with water? Or dry them after?

My dad also gifted me his Cross Pen when he found out that I was into fountain pens! It is the Cross Radiance, which is almost identical. The Solo is a solid color and the Radiance has a marbled body. Great writer as well! Cross- the “Dad pen”
