I enjoyed my quick little drive through Wise! Had no idea until researching for this video that George C. Scott was from here!

One of the more beautiful mountain interstate drives in the eastern U.S., in my opinion, especially when there is snow in the air. I look forward to the fall so I can hopefully drive it again and see what it's like with fall folliage.

Plans are underway to convert the abandoned railroad line into a rail trail called the Saluda Grade Rail Trail. It will begin in Inman near Spartanburg in SC and end at Zirconia, NC near Hendersonville, a distance of 31 miles.

It's a shame that this bridge was either completely or partially destroyed during Hurricane Helene on September 27, 2024, just 4 months after I filmed this.

I’ve never been to Marshall, or to any part of NC. But I just watched a video of the devastation of Helene, and I really wanted to see what had existed … until last week! This video gives me an idea. Thanks.

I've noticed a slight uptick in views for this video, especially in the last 48 hours. It's hard to believe what happened to this town (and others) after Helene. The people of Western North Carolina are really hurting now and need assistance. I ask that if you feel moved to do so, research charities that can help these wonderful people. Samaritans Purse is assisting and the best thing about them is they are based in Western North Carolina and have been affected by the storm. This will take YEARS for this area to recover. 🙏

It's a shame what the flooding did to these beautiful communities. Prayers to all affected. 🙏

I absolutely LOVE LOVE Pikeville KY, My family is from here. I lived in Pike Co as a child and then returned for Highschool. Great video, however Bluegrass music would of been nice for the music selection...I would love to see Stone past the new park

I was raised and attended Pikeville College now Pikeville University, there is no more beautiful part of the US. Too bad you had to see it on a dark rainy day. In the fall the color is as good if not better than the fall color in New England. People are friendly and welcoming. A great place to grow up. In fact after fifty years after leaving for career I retired and returned Home.

I have to tell you something. I started crying big tears watching this. I love Marshall, NorthCarolina. My mother was from this city. She lived on Sweet Water Road. Just up the other way around the mountain. I loved going here when I was a child. Thank you for much for filming this. She went to school on the Island. Marshall has changed yet somewhat stayed the same. It is no longer a sleepy town. I am so glad people have turned it into a tourist attraction so it won’t be forgotten.

I really liked driving thru this route from Adairsville, GA to Kissimmee and sometimes Lakeland FL when I was driving an 18 wheeler , idk why just like it lol used to do that route once or twice a week
