      @sobmtuiii2877 It only took me a week of practice by tearing fewer cards and adding a few more each time I tried. This was awhile ago now. I can now tear full decks no problem with my quickest in just 1 second. It did tear up my hands the first few times, but they eventually toughen up to it.

      @UniqueFitness84 3 місяці тому

      @k1n752 My knees were absolutely fine. I just had a few days of DOMS afterwards, mainly in the quads, core and glutes. I'd built up to 500 over time, so it was within my limits, but I certainly wouldn't advise that amount without working up to it.

    Even though we don't have a side view, we can see that this weight is being lifted with a "rounded" back, which is terrible for the lumbar spine and can cause herniated intravertebral discs.

  • @MatthewGrace99
    @MatthewGrace99 8 місяців тому

    How the hell is this possible?! I can do like 40 in a row. I will need a full minute of rest just to eek out another 10 or 12 reps. That has been true since I was in my 20s. Reasonably lean at 160lbs. I am now 40. ... What were your numbers like when you were new to training these? The more I think about out, the more even just 100 seems amazing. 500 ?!

    • @UniqueFitness84
      @UniqueFitness84 8 місяців тому

      I used to do these back in 2014 and managed to get to 300 straight. Then just played around with them over the years, so never really focused on them. But then last year I decided to try and get back to being able to do 300 again. So I incorporated Hindu squats into very high rep routines, usually paired with push ups. Once I got to 300 again, I just aimed to do more each time I tried an all out set. Eventually I got to 350, then 400, then 450, then finally the 500. Once you get to a high enough number, the body just becomes kind of numb and its just a matter of trying to keep technique and mental toughness. As you squat down, all the weight goes onto the ball of your foot, with a full knee bend, aiming to sit on your calves in the bottom, then come back on to flat feet as you raise back up. The arms act as like a wheel to help guide momentum. And breathing is opposite to usual squats. So you breathe out on the way down, then in on the way up. I turned 40 yesterday myself. I also have exercised with high fitness intensity for most of my life, which probably as a cross over with Hindu squats, aswel as having decent top end strength. Just a matter of regular practice 👍
