Good video and excellent old school chainsaw 🤙
Seems lively to me,and easy on the ear.
Muffler mod that and it will come alive, be easier to start and sounds amazing
the 610 is 60cc not 61
Is the 610 the same as a Timber Bear?
i just aquirred a 610 chainsaw yesterday .. the compression was outstanding.. i never tried to start it due to the owner said it needed a fuel line ,,when i opened the fuel cap and turned it upside down to see what was in it,,haha oil dripped out of it.. hmm I think someone doesnt know where the bar oil and the mix oil gas go !! does anyone have the prper fuel mix ratio to these chainsaws? or is it just a standard 50 to one mix ratio?in the mean time ill be just cleaning the the saw up in general had a thick layer of dirt all ver it which tells me it hasnt been used in a in a long time. the fuel line is still flexible which to me says theirs nothing wrong with it other than mabey a burned or fouled plug and an owner who has no clue what mix oil is .LO.
Still have my dad's 610. I have bought a few over the years. They are very good saws.
10 10 is 54 cc
So how’s it going I’m now creating videos also I would like to see more content if you could please
10-10 is a slower rpm saw, 610 is a bit faster & it will handle a 24" bar just fine. Got 4 of those.
Mia interested video iv seen in a while. Go Mac 10-10 auto !!! I got one
Awesum unscientific test real world that ole 610 sounds like it’s all camed up and purrs!!
The 610 waxed ir ass
610 out dothe 10 10
Id say that old mac is keeping rate up up with your husky
Mesin bagus bos 👍 keren
I have both and love both of them. I'm running a 24 on the 610 and 28 on the 372. Both ported
😮 bagus bos mantap 👍👍
Nice bit of cutting lad I like
Thanks
That’s an awesome saw! I just picked up a 605 with a 32 inch bar.
32 inch bar is a little much for that saw but good saw none the less
@@imperfectcuts7028 oh yeah it’s way to big, I got a couple of 20’s that I’ll put on it but I couldn’t pass it up. It pulls it though lol
@@bustinout lol nice
The 610 has a auto oiler, you don't need to manually do anything unless you need more
My auto oiler has never worked on this saw and I'm to lazy to replace it.
Killer man!!! I like the why you do crap like me. No chaps and safety this and safety that. Straight up git R done!! I love that 610 man. That thing does not bog down it just flings chips. Cool video man!!
Thanks that 610 is just a stone dead reliable saw. It's one of my personal favorites for sure
Good saws bouth like❤
Thanks
Good stuff brother. Those McCullochs are as popular in the chainsaw community like Eminem is to the reaction vid category. I got me a timber bear and I see why they are pound for pound the best in the industry especially when they are only 50 and 100$. It was take that 100$ I had and get a used 610 or a 100$ Chinese saw on amazon. I chose well lol. No, they may not last 10 years but even if only 1 year i get my money out and can just throw it out and buy a new one. Stihl and Husky are pricing themselves slowly out if they don't watch it.
Idk about pricing themselves out cause even the Chinese clones are getting more expensive. The 372 clones used to be under $300 and now they are almost $500 in some areas. Everything is getting silly expensive. That's why I've been what some call "cheap" and buy some of these mcculloch saws. They have good power and run good. Sure they use a little more fuel than a new saw and are loud but that's all part of the charm.
I have 2 pro Mac 700 46 years old bar and bow cut many cords of fire wood still running but the old man is wore out
Lol I understand. The old saws are more for fun then production these days. I'm probably one of the only younger people I know that is even intrested in saws.
Very nice find on that 850! If you don't mind me asking, what are those saws going for in your area?
I got it to cheap will put it that way. But I got it non running also.
Halo bos 👍 saya belum pernah mencoba mesin merek itu. Seperti nya tangguh
Great saws. A good day indeed.
Ya it needs an intake boot and ok gonna have to replace the front antivibe mount because it's pretty ratty
Made a lot of money doing that, also following local tree people, asphlen co. Road Trees cutters
I just wait till they bring it to me lol couple miles from the house.
Just liked and Subscribed. We have a EZ in our collection. Also just got a 790 -555 and super 10-10 McCullogh. We have video on our channel.
Thanks for the like and subscribe. I have a 740 mcculloch that I will be getting running this winter if life ever slows down lol. That little ez actually cuts pretty well for being a vintage saw.
2 great saws, you have them running well and keep your chain oiled good. I grew up using a 610, I have a 605 now , basicly the same, good saws but a little on the heavy side, I also have a 10-10, it really cracks, and has a great sound.. My favorite saw is an ole 025 stihl but.., they all get the job done if your careful and do your maintenance. I am not a fan of Poulan but I will use them if that's all I have. Long live the Ole Macs.
Lol I love that 610 it's a solid runner and I only paid $5. Can't beat it for the price and it's got pretty good antivibe. And decent power.
Have a 610 since 82 still cutting wood great saw
Ya it's been a pretty good saw for $5 I paid. Had to replace the recoil now but other than that nothing
I'm like you I keep everything you never know when you might need something !
Ya I keep anything the might be uselfull. For example the bushing in 10-10 recoil you can't get them anymore so you either have to make new on a lathe ( which I don't have). Or pay stupid price for nos parts.
I had to subscribe to your channel so I can get a look at your 61 rebuild, not sure if I'm going to be doing mine anytime soon !
I'm going to be doing a 266se also not sure if it needs a bottom end yet. I also have a 61 black top that was my first chainsaw. Bought it at a local shop that I now work at part time.
Sweet saws!
Thanks they are both beautiful saws.
Definitely need to put decompression valve in the hog and a rope 😉 We have days like these glad you pushed through it. Thanks
Ya it's a hard starter for sure. But if I can get the stones to pull it it's running in 4 pulls max. So that's at least a nice thing.
nice looking saws bro
Thanks I still have a ton of saws that the channel hasn't seen and working on getting set up to take more videos.
Glad you’re back at it! Get some saws in the wood and back to what keeps you moving. See you!
Lol ya I'm glad to be trying to video again it's been fun.
heak yeah mate, sound like a hard worker
Compression check it yet? I have the same saw and mines good but it throws gas under the carb. Rebuild carb is in the future. Cool videos
Carb is rebuilt I believe I'm either having issues with the needle and seat or the impulse.
Yea man she’s a beauty. Very possible the rings need replacement. Whistle could be not enough oil in the fuel. Those things like the 32-1 mix. More oil for more clearances. Carb might need some love too if it’s bogging. Keep throwing chips .☀️❤️🔥💛🖤💛🖤
The saw has been sitting for at least 20 years by the looks of it when I bought it. I pulled the exhaust to check the rings. They appear to be in great shape just been sitting so long I think they have either shrank away from the cylinder walls or have varnish in them. It's slowly settling into a tune
@@imperfectcuts7028 my friend has a 1-50 that had similar issues. The thing was sitting around forever. I gave it some cleaning and 32-1. Thing runs beautifully now.
@@ScrewdriverTUNING ya I'm running 91 octane fuel and 40:1 fuel mix at the moment if it doesn't come around in a tank of fuel I'll add a bit more oil to help nurse it along. But it's already starting to come along some I think so will give her a day and see.
And that is exactly why I got away from vintage saws (at least using them for actual firewood). To hell with pulling that rope a shit ton of times and talk about slooowwww cutting I still use my beloved homelite xl12 but just for fun Echo 4910 (ported) Husqvarna 372xp (ported)
Not bashing you but don't you think it would be good to wear safety gear when doing what you're doing
I probably should wear safety goggles and I highly recommend it. It's just something I don't do very often. I don't recommend doing anything I do in the videos.
With respect...that saw will kick back on you one day and a hard lesson will be learned to keep both hands on the saw. Stay safe!
Saws never kick back in a downward buck cut
The 610;ate up the 10-10.
The 610 had a better chain and the 10-10 in the video doesn't really care for the 24" bar. It much prefers the 20 inch that's on it now.
Your axe skills make me nervous.
Locust creates axe bounce like crazy its so hard
Who swings like a madman anyway I like my legs even splitting some stuff you get that bounce back 😂
I just Sub’d. I love these McCullochs! I have a collection going and cut firewood myself. Great to see more people running these! Good deal. Keep it up. Thanks for the content
Thanks for the sub!! I have a decent collection of saws myself. Sometime in the future I will be getting a video of my collection.
That 610 is hungry!
The day I was cutting in this video they both were pretty sharp chains.
Thanks sid im glad you like the content of this video. I'm working on building some more videos now. I should have a video up soon.
Sorry about the ending I ran out of storage space
