The lich snapped his fingers to get to his goal, but lost everything. The lich loves to cause mass suffering, but his wish made everyone die instantly and painlessly. And his purpose, the only thing he lives to do, would never happen again. When we see the lich in other worlds, he is methodical. Cutting off reincarnation to cause a millennia of slow extinction, being the avatar of war that would lead to humanity’s near extinction, and trying to split his mind over every universe to cause an eternity of mass suffering everywhere. But in this one, he did his act once, and would never be able to do it again… even though he won, it would be the last time he did so…
