What transmission and transfer case?
Sm465-np205 but it now has a new upgraded np205. It was machined out for larger bearings and new input to accept the fresh th400. I made a video of the swap we did, just never finished enough of it to upload it. Might upload what I do have and fill in the rest. It’s mostly put back together, drove it down the road and parked it.
1 day when the wife lets me borrow my balls for a day, I could go mudding too.
This is exactly what I am looking to do with my YJ. Most people in California don’t know muddying but I live in/on the Salinas River bed and we wheel through the river all the time. 33/35’s just don’t cut it. I need 38-40’s and I should put a small block in it instead of the 4.7 stroker.
Taller tires def help but they can stress everything else! Big motor helps to spin them tires fast to clean em! I used to wheel in Vegas so I know what it’s like in them river beds.

Mine was down from a ride I didn’t get on video then I videotaped the rebuild and just haven’t posted it yet. I swap to a TH400 and got a set of 44s for it. Hope to be back riding in a few months.

The black Jeep is coming back with 44” boggers and so it will do better for sure. We have a lot of hard bottoms holes so the extra ground clearance helps.

Who did the original build of this Jeep? Had a buddy that had a red Jeep, square headlights and he put 2 1/2 tons under it and a v8. Stretched the rear and cut the rear fenders like that. He sold it years ago to someone in AL, makes me wonder if this is it. I can see more upgrades on it now.
Not sure I’ll ask my cousin to comment ... it’s funny cause just about everywhere we go someone ask the same thing.

Yea man ain’t nothing like being on the trail!! The black one is a 1990 on 39.5 boggers w 350ci 4Speed stick shift. and can’t remember year the red one is but he’s packing a 6.0ls on 46” claws!! My next to last video I talk a little bit more about what is in the jeeps, if you want to watch that one.
